Even for games on the BTN? I tried to go out for one of our games on the network last year and a guy who owns a bar by my house says he'd tried multiple times to get the BTN, but was told that the BTN isn't available to commercial estbalishments in New Orleans for reasons unknown (SEC network).

where St. Charles ends and you make a right turn onto Carrollton. It is right near the Camellia Grill, which is also worth a visit (Pecan Pie!). It is a bit past the Tulane main campus, but you can get there by Streetcar.

If I were in New Orleans, I'd eat at Willie Mae's Scotch House. I still think about the delicious baked chicken and bread pudding I had there.

Willie Mae Seaton died at 99 years old this week. Forgive them if the environment isn't festive as normal for a week or two.

I spent quite a bit of time at Deuce McAlister's bar on Bourbon Street last time I was there - called the Olde Saint. I highly recommend it.

If you want oysters I think the happy hour at http://www.lukeneworleans.com/ is second to none (though the blind pelican has substantially worse oysters for a third of the price during happy hour (25 cents an oyster)).
If you want poboys, parkway bakery is a favorite of mine. Cochon butcher has the best muffaletta in the city (and everything else they have is amazing).
Skip bourbon and head to frenchmen st for entertainment, and head further into the marigny/down to bywater if youre liking what youre seeing.

is a great place to spend a long weekend. Living there (if you aren't a native) is another matter....

If you manage to find time to sneak away to some restaurants, here's what I recommend:
-Pascal's Manale - authentic New Orleans BBQ shrimp. Place has been around forever, and it's where I fell in love with shrimp. Bring a bib, though. It gets messy.
-Jacque Imo's - among the best comfort food I've had anywhere. It's in uptown off of Carrolton, so it won't be walkable, but it might be my favorite restaurant in the city. They don't take reservations but even if you have to wait, it's worth it.
-Yo Mama Bar and Grill - hole in the wall on St. Peter's St in the quarter. Best burger in New Orleans. Get the peanut butter and bacon burger and you won't be sorry you did.

Blue fan writing from Nola. Prytania Bar is the spot. Otherwise Cooter Browns. There are usually Big Ten fans at Tracey's, too. If you're looking for NFL action on Sunday, Manning's has all the games. In the Quarter check out Jimanji. Cooters is great for NFL also.
