New offer: 2019 OT/DT Devontae Dobbs
Michigan offered 2019 Belleville (MI) Belleville OT/DT Devontae Dobbs at the BBQ at the Big House today. He's 6'4", 270 lbs. going into his sophomore year and has offers from Auburn, Florida, and Ohio State, among others. 247 Sports has him as the #1 OT and #14 overall player in 2019. IIRC, the last Belleville player to come to Michigan was one Ian Gold back in the late 1990s.
My one complaint/criticism is that Redford Union is SOOOO bad. Like playing a JV team. No disrespect but they are not a very solid/quality program at them moment.

have been terrible as long as i can remember..even when I played in the mid 90's
That's true, but it's the longest highlight clip available (probably for the reasons you stated). I figured that would be better than posting a 10-second clip against some other team.
BTW, Belleville seemed to go through a bit of a talent drought for a decade or so, but Jermain Crowell (Cass Tech's former DC) was hired not long ago and suddenly kids from Belleville are getting a lot of looks. Jordan Ulmer, Devonni Reed, Patrick Lupro, M.J. Griffin, Andre Seldon Jr., and Julian Barnett are just some of the names to watch in the 2017-2020 classes. And that doesn't even include 2019 QB Dwan Mathis, who transferred from Belleville to Oak Park this off-season.

I get they have a good football program and open enrollment, but man I don't see why somebody would want to transfer to OP from a school like Belleville.
Many felt Bellville to be the best team in the state that year. Ian was, of course, a stud RB on that squad. Damn, I miss the mobile lbers such as he and Dhani. They could get places quickly. If Ty wouldn't have been a world class RB, he would have been an exceptional lber as well.

My alma mater! Hopefully the new coach can field some decent teams going forward.
Me too! Belleville didn't win a single game during my four years there. Glad to see the new staff turn things around.
Also a 2019 OT front Kentwood offered. Sounds like they may be two of the best tackles in the country for 2019.

and we can wrap up our OL needs w/o leaving the state and have 4 of the top 15 in the nation to boot. Win/win.
Antwan Reed? He's a 2018 kid.
But the OL unit is normally comprised of multiple classes. My point was getting a MI dominated OL. I don't know if it's because UM has, since Bo, been a power running team but this state does produce a lot of good linemen. Both of the in-state BIG schools prove that and there are a number of players from other P5 teams and even the MAC that end up playing on Sundays, all of whom are rooted in the state of Michigan. Would love the three in discussion.
Hope they buy into meritocracy. Two years is a loooong time. The machine will be rolling so they better keep working.

Is this an offer or an "offer"?

He's probably the #1 player in the state and according to 247 the #1 tackle so definitely an offer. That is as long as he keeps improving

He's also a sophomore so plenty of time to grow.
