They are running low on the disrespect card so the best I can gather from their people to try to keep it going are:

a) Oregon opened 13 pt favorite - massive lack of respect since we are better than Stanford and Stanford beat Oregon

b) How dare people put OSU ahead of us, we beat OSU last year.

Look I am on the side of the board that the people who think State regresses while Dantonio are there are as willfully ignorant as those who believe UM basketball is going back to the dark ages while Beilein is here.  Neither is happening.  But the level of "pride before the fall" in their camp is quite high for a team that could not win one conf game at home 2 years ago.  And you can still have excellent coaching and have a 8-9 win season, rather than 11 if the schedule is tough and you suffer some key injuries.  But if last year didnt show you a totally different attitude over there I dont know what will convince people - they were down to both OSU and Stanford in the 2nd halves, faced turmoil that used to cause Sparty to turn into fetal position, and punched back hard and won both those games.  That is a very different mentality than the one they carried for 4 decades.

As for recruiting I'd encourage everyone to go look at their "40th" ranked classes of 2010 and 2011 player by player; it is very impressive what they generated out of those classes.  Even as an opponent who doesnt live and breath that program you will recognize 60-70% of the players as top line starters for them.  So they are at the point with their recruiting in fball that we are with bball.  If Dantonio brings a 3 star recruit out of Idaho they just do the parallel of "Caris" just as we do with MAAR or Dawkins.  They deserve the right until proven otherwise to believe so and they are beginning to get some nice players on offense - Larry Scott is 1, the WR they just got from 2016, and they just landed a DB out of FL yesterday who is "3 stars" but Alabama and a few other teams in the South were after.

Are schools doing this on purpose, or are AD's really this dumb? How many different schools have we seen in the last few months (UM included) with really obvious and glaring typos in public communications? I mean jeez, these schools could probably save 100k by hiring the local 5th grade spelling bee winner to proofread all their public communications.

I think this sign acurately sums up the challenges MSU will face this year. Say what you want about the underdog mentality but one can't argue that it isn't acurate. In fact, it is more acurate than Connor Cook. If anyone wants to dispute the acuracy of my post feel free to give it a try. Be sure to put together a clear, concise, acurate argument and don't forget to spell check.

You know what, I'm just gonna put this out there: aside from the spelling error, I like the sign, I think it's pretty cool, gets me amped up, and I'm sure the players feel the same way. Can't make fun of everything about MSU.

You know, reading this sign, the only conclusion that comes to mind is, "Well, nearly accurate passes anyway...I mean, definitely within reasonable reach." Also, this could easily be broken up into a few sentences and the message might even be that much more digestable and acurate. Other than that, it gives me a headache to read it.

"Those who have written us off..."

Uh, you're preseason top ten.  The "no respect" card isn't really a great play here, unless of course you have a deep sense of inferiority that no amount of wins can fix.

It's a point I hammer at constantly: college athletes take to the disrespect thing like the fat kid at the donut buffet.  They want to be disrespected.  All you have to do to motivate them is tell them nobody believes in them, because it's exactly what they want to hear to get themselves fired up.

People need to stop saying this!  The term "precision" has multiple meanings, only one of which is the closeness of measured values to each other.  The OP is using the term here to mean "exact, accurate, and careful about details," which is appropriate.

This kind of error isn't hard to make when you're more focused on graphic style and layout instead of the words. Which is precisely why you bring in fresh eyes to check everything. Either they didn't do that, or everyone who checked it for acuracy blew it. Sparty no.

About this beating them thing.  I was playing tennis this weekend for the first time in 3 years andof course I blew, but I couldn't help but get pissed when I wasn't playing at a certain level I expected of myself.  I was genuinely getting upset.  Illogical given the circumstances, but nonetheless.

But in Hoke's case it isn't illogical.  This logical feeling of inner-rage is what I want from this coaching staff and players.  The RichRod dip is over.  Year four man.  1-2 vs State and 1-2 vs Ohio.

Michigan is the all time winningest program because we don't settle for less than excellence, and when there isn't excellence, THERE SHOULD BE RAGE.  Quiet, inner rage of course, but the kind that manifests itself with a coaching staff with blinders about how to overcome Narduzzi's defense and Urbz's offense.

Is Hoke just too nice a guy to be the ruthless alpha coach of this league that Bo was after unseating Woody?

I just don't know if Brady has the atitude, and this year will give us the answer.

If it was just feeling disrespected or upset at not doing well UM should have beaten OSU by 20 one of these years. And we should have put a lot better display on the field last year vs MSU.  We are 2-10 and 1-5 respectively versus those 2 of late... if anyone should be ANGAR it should be us.

They did go 7-6 in 2012. I don't think they'll go back to JLS and be 4-8 every year but it's ridiculous to think that they'll go 10-2 or 11-1 every year in the future. They'll have to play an improved PSU and Michigan every year from their current state. Their schedule was pretty weak in their two big ten title seasons. I see them as a 8-4/9-3 type team unless PSU and Michigan are still godawful or Ohio takes a nosedive.

listing the seven values from the company mission statement.  When the poster arrived I put it in the display case in the cafeteria, not noticing that one of the seven was missing: Attention to Detail.  So I am not one to throw stones.
