New Michigan tattoo

Submitted by Meth on

I have always wanted a Michigan tattoo but have never really seen anything that I like, so I came up with this idea.  It is not finished because I have to add the background, blood on the claws and mascot heads, and incorporate the Notre Dame mascot (because most of my friends are Notre Dame fans).  It was done around 2 hours ago so the colors aren't real bright yet.  Also, sorry about the angle, it was the best I could get to show everything (right side looks a little screwy like this).  Let me know what you guys think and any ideas that you may have to finish it.

EDIT: for misspelling screwy

The idea is cool but I have to be honest the artwork is pretty bad. It looks like it was done by a semi talented 6th grader. I'm sorry just my opinion

The angle makes it look worse than what it is because it wraps around my arm a little and I wanted to add some emphasis on Brutus for the photo.  It was actually my idea on the face because I wanted the wolverine to be a little evil and will add fangs later. Just a work in progress.  Thanks for the comments.

Generally, those that have a couple of grand to drop on a tattoo, don't have tattoos ... and if they do, it's not something like this disasterpiece.

Then maybe they shouldn't get one. Generally speaking, if you're going to be stuck with something for life, you probably don't want to skimp on it.

I like it. I have been trying to think of a cool michigan tatto idea and this is what I've got:

I tried sketching the outlines of some pictures and as you can see, I am a shitty drawer. The object in the middle of the block M is supposed to be an outline of a wolverine. I want the wolverine face to be real vicious so I am going to use this:

I want the spartan helmet to be crushed in, Brutus to be bleeding, and the fighting irish guy looking up in fear.

I would also like a pro to clean it up which is what the tattoo artist is for.

I have also been thinking of getting a michigan tattoo.  You know the NFL commericial where the steeler's fan has the list of the superbowls the steelers won on his arm?  I want to do that with Michigan national championships somehow, and list each year they won it.  Only problem is I hate needles, and if I want to keep up with it, I would be back in the parlor a couple times a decade.

this tattoo relate in any way to Michigan again? New Wolverine Tattoo would have been a better title but still wouldn't have made that anywhere near a cool tat.

I will explain the entire process.  I like the Michigan Wolverines.  I like the comic book character Wolverine.  I like the tattoo that Lamarr Woodley has.  I did a Google image search for Wolverine.  I wanted an image that was a little evil and violent and found the image on Page 1 (ymmv).  I printed the image along with the mascots and took them with me to the tattoo parlor and told him that I wanted to incorporate these things together.  This is what we came up with.  It is not finished.  I did not create the image of Wolverine.  I did not create his claws.  I did not create Brutus the Buckeye.  I did not create Sparty.   I only created the concept.  I hope I do not have to continue.  I used the word "idea" loosely and I apologize.

This tattoo plays right into the Wal-Mart wolverine stereotype. I'm not a fan of it at all, but as long as you like it, that's all that matters.

Remember all the shit we gave Jerel Worthy about his stupid tattoo? Putting something permanent on your arm that has so much room for improvement (i.e., not existing) will lead to criticism.

At least Worthy had the muscles to rock his tattoo.
