I really liked it good work, especially the beginning with Hoke's press conference, and the end with Hail to the Victors with the marching band. The music was also real sweet good job!

Not sure about the order of material presented.  I would have started with the classic film, followed by taking the field.  Next, bring all the highlights from last year, with the team rushing the field at the end of the Illinois game being the logical conclusion.

There were some awesome highlights of DR, VS, & Roundtree.

I saw more of Bo & Lloyd than I saw of RR.

The succession of still shots made me a little dizzy.

Great work. Some really nice footage and effects, especially the plays in which UM was in color (and the maize accentuated?) while opposing players were in black and white.

Seeing the scores on some of the losing games was a painful reminder of recent disappointments. Speaking of which, I still really hope that mgouser (forgot his/her name) puts together one final Better Son/Daughter video. It will forever be the gold standard for hype videos for me, and the timing after 3 painful years could not be more appropos. This video got me moderately excited, but the Rilo Kiley ones give me the chills each and every time.

The music is pretty much terrible and boring for over 8 minutes.  There are probably a half dozen plays that were repeated.  As much as I enjoyed Hemingway break 4 illini players ankles on that one play seeing it multiple times dont cut it.  And while I'm being honest n all same f-ing plays and michigan transitions that every other hype video has.  This one is just lacking all the main ingredients, HYPE, awesome music, goosebumps, and that urge to watch more and more.  5/5 for failure.

You have stupid taste in music if that didn't pump you up.  Sure there were repeated plays but the music was an excellent choice.  Especially well done was timing the musical climax with the Illinois game winning sack.  That part was EXCEPTIONAL.

I'm all for people having opinions and personal taste and I don't like people name calling, HOWEVA...... you are wrong and an idiot.

Who cares where the clips came from - we've seen the originals a million times.  It's about creating something larger than just a string of clips.  Papereater's video didn't tell a story - it was just clips to a rock song.  This video was compelling and emotional - from the introduction to the juxtaposition of old footage.  That was why Better Son's and Daughters was so great - because it used the uplifting music change in the middle to match the story, thus elevating the clips.

You missed the entire point of the video based on your comment.  That's like saying "Zingerman's sandwiches suck because they didn't make their own meats."  (I'm assuming for the sake of argument that they don't).

Okay, now I'm afraid that I sounded like a dick. I liked the video overall and thought the song choice was excellent. It's just that papereater's hype videos all have that effect, so taking footage from him is probably not the best idea. It would be like Pollack using Picasso's style for one painting. It would stick out like a sore thumb.

Thank your buddy for the effort. I watched the whole thing. I don't need to nitpick. I love highlights. I love seeing good things happen on the field for Michigan. I loved the music. I loved "The Victors" at the end.

I also couldn't help noticing how many of those highlights were the result of someone just sticking with the play - keeping the effort going full bore until something good happened. And how many great downfield blocks guys put on. Woo!

First of all, I think the rule of thumb should be that if your hype video is longer than five minutes, you might want to cut some stuff.  An obvious way to do this would be to only play each highlight once.  Also, if it feels to you like you're just running three different videos end-to-end, and/or tacking on something that is completely different than the rest for the last minute, an-editing you should go.

But beyond that, I think it just goes to show how hard it can be to make one of these things when most of the good plays either come a) against the likes of Bowling Green, Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue, or b) in games that were horrendous losses.  Hard to get pumped up, say, when Koger catches that sweet touchdown and races untouched to the end zone .... to cut the lead to 25.

I haven't seen anything as good as the Drop the World video - I think it's really hard to balance the traditional hype aspect with the backs-against-the-wall thing.

The only things that bothered me were it was a little on the long side and it seemed to be in a strange order. I would think it would run more smoothly if the hitting the michigan banner and taking the field stuff was in the beginning.
