New Kickstarter: Generate $10k for single payment to HTTV
The idea for this post was originated by PeterKlima: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/um-fans-never-cease-amaze-meonly-3000-more#comment-1532836. It was so good I felt that it should have its own topic.
Anybody want to team up to help create a single payment of $10,000 to pledge to Brian's HTTV Kickstarter? Joint birthday party anyone?
I like this idea a lot. But whose birthday party would we choose?
Brian's
perfect.
I bet you are going to break the no politics rule pretty soon.
the name refers to Brock Mealer, not the protesters.

or outlaw motorcycle gangs.

I remember because I made a joke about it on another thread.
I'm broke. the 1 percent MGoName is for Brock Mealer. The other 1% stole it.
Gotcha. That coupled with the KONY 2012 avatar had me thrown. I guess the avatar must refer to the public masturbation, not the cause... I feel like we've had that talk too.
THE PARTY ROOM
Is "THE PARTY ROOM" THE_KNOWLEDGE's jealous little loser of a brother or something?
BTW, When will THE_KNOWLEDGE return. I want to know what's gonna happen next year already.
Ironically only THE_KNOWLEDGE could answer that question
That's not irony, it's ju-...
Wait... yeah, that kinda is irony.
I am assuming this will have to be done within driving distance for Brian. So it will probably have to be someone living in Michigan, Ohio, or possibly Chicago.
For all donators from a feasibly location, why not just make a lottery out of it? Everyone is assigned number(s) based on how much they donate and the spot which they donated. So if you donated the first $10, then you receive numbers 1-10. If you donated the next $5, then you receive numbers 11-15. The next 15, numbers 16-30 and so on and so forth (if this is possibly using Kickstarter atleast, if not just assign people random numbers and they receive the amount of numbers equaled to the amount of dollars they donated.
Then once the kickstarter ends, assuming we reached our goal of $10,000. We will use a random number generated set between 1 and whatever dollar amount we ended up. Whose ever number comes up, gets the pleasure of hosting the party (if they want to, or they can pick the location). Although to be nice to them, it can be BYOB.
P.S. I am 100% serious.
throw a tailgate instead? Perhaps at the ND game, even though it's an away game, it would still be pretty fun, being a night game and all.
I was thinking too much inside the box with Brian saying he will show up "at your kids birthday party." But a tailgate will be perfect, since where/when else will you get a larger collection of MGoBloggers.
I would probably recommend a home game vs an away game, even though that atmosphere will be really fun. Just because, I am sure as many donators as possibly will want to attend. Additionally it might be better to do a non-headliner home game, which the only real one this year is MSU, because for bigger games people usually have bigger plans with friends/family. A game with a little less hyp, might draw more people to temporarily leave their tailgate to witness or even try to get a picture with Brian in a TP jersey.
because it's likely the only game I'll actually get to go to. Although, I wouldn't mind making the trip up A2 for a game. Good point about the game with less hype though. Perhaps the Illinois or Air Force game would be good ones.
Why not just start an unofficial, official tailgate spot for mgobloggers so users and supporters can meet one another and make smartass remarks in person :). Seriously though its not a bad idea and doesn't cost 10,000. Im sure the peeps from the site would make it out just because of what it would be. You could play around with it, have red necklaces and negging someone in person. Blue ones for pos bang etc etc.

just look for the pastey white people in their underwear at the next home game. Be sure to introduce yourself as cozy200
The idea of an MGoTailgate has been discussed ad nauseum and is a non-starter. Please remember for Brian this is his job; what if you had to work every football Saturday from now till retirement?
Ace and Heiko are in the press box. They have to be there early and are already working by the time most tailgaters would be there. Out of editorial staff members that leaves, um, me. I'm a tailgate drifter anyway so I'm down for whatever, but If you think "Come Tailgate with Seth from MGoBlog" is a draw I'm flattered, and you're crazy.
No offense to the MGoStaff, but I think that their presence, while welcome, would not be required.
Oh in that case rock on.
While I like this idea, my personal favorite was Jon06's idea of the first $500 over $30,000 going to an 11w 1 day take over. Seriously need to consider this one since 11w is so kindly offering it up. I mean really the sheer terror and disgust those fools would feel in seeing MGoBlog when going to that site would make up for having to give them $500 for it.
Edit- of course we can make both of these happen.
No x1000. Do you want more of the typical 11W fans coming to this site, especially after we troll them like this? I think we should pay 500 to send all the 11W fans to redceder. That way sparty and brutus lose. I do not want to give the average buckeye fan my internet address, and I certainly don't want to pay for it!!!!!
what about $500 to turn 11W into goatse or r/spacedicks or some other interwebz horror?
Just turn 11W into a redirection towards the highlights of 40-34.
Why not combine this with a Michigan associated charity so we can make an impact while doing this? Whether it be something like Motts or Martavious Odom's Hope for Pahokee.
For different donation amounts, the donator can receive a gift (like a #EATING wristband or t-shirt: http://hopeforpahokee.com/#6e1/custom_plain). Additionally, since we might get over $10,000, then all additional funds over $10,000 can be given away to that charity (or we can give Brian an extra bonus too).
Thoughts?
As nice as the idea of charity is, from what has been said in the thread on the front page, the $20k wouldn't cover all the costs. They need about double that to break even. So I say let's wait for it to get up to $40k before giving the profits away. :)
I know I posted this a ehile back, but how about $500 for the 11W gig (too funny) and the rest to help Rumeal Robinson'd mom/
EDIT: and my typing deficiency...
I've been kicking around the idea of doing that photoshop for a couple of months now, and you've gone and done it.
You're also brilliant since you had the same idea. And yes, I am only saying this because I am jealous you got to it first.
Hadn't realized I hadn't read all the way to the end. I went back, and realized why I never finished--I was laughing so hard while trying not to make noise my wife thought I was in serious respiratory distress. Of course, I couldn't explain why I was laughing.
What I really want to see is a gif of that scene. Maybe we should page LSU Freek...
Maybe we can buy him a flight somewhere if it's enough cash.
I'm starting a Kickstarter to raise money for Mgoblog's purchase, and immediate shut down of Eleven Warriors. Why you ask? Because I can!
Poor Brian. I'm very surprised his incredible foresight didn't alert him that this would surely happen.
$200,000
Pick ups Start in Grand Rapids at 5 PM the day before games.
There are some pretty clear cut requirements about what can and cannot be made into a kickstarter project. I'm reasonably certain this wouldn't fly. With that said, there are other sites on the internet set up for simply for accepting donations.
