Did we ever figure out the upvote/downvote thing?? I've been gone from this blog for the most part because of 20 credits this semester. I vaguely remember a thread saying it was fiixed, but I haven't noticed any change.

How am I supposed to start a thread when my points were taken away?? More importantly, how am I supposed to know which comments are Harbaugh and which comments suck?? I am lost.

Yes I realize this has nothing to do with O'Maury Samuels. I enjoy transitioning to another topic by saying "Speaking of (previous topic)."  Which I figure won't go over as well on this blog as it does in real life, but the question needed to be asked!

EDIT: I GUESS YOU HAVE TO POST A COMMENT TO SEE THE UPVOTE/DOWNVOTES BECAUSE I SEE THEM NOW SORRY GUYS BYE

I don't know if building hype is the main goal. I think one reason is to have more time to evaluate prospects to see who emerges from the pack. It's also a whole lot easier to add a star than it is to remove one. If you name 30 kids as 5-stars and by the end of the cycle, 25 of those names have changed, you have some upset kids/parents/coaches/fans. It's better to be safe and maybe remove 3-5 of those names down the road rather than 15-25.

2017 is the only year that OSU is looking like a recruiting juggernaut.  With classes of 25+ they were 4th in 2016, 7th in 2015, and 3rd in 2014 on the 247 composite.  Very good but both Alabama and LSU have been ahead each year.  Certainly not unbeatable and this 2017 class won't have a big impact on the field for another 2 seasons.  There's certainly time for Michigan to catch up before then.

As he said. 2017 is the only year. They have had very good recruiting classes over the past few years. But they aren't even on the recruiting level of Alabama or LSU. It's hard to call them a juggernaut. For comparison's sake, Michigan has also had very excellent recruiting classes despite being about a .500 team since Carr retired. Our recruiting potential only goes up with a top notch head coach that has a national name, and increased wins. Michigan isn't far behind Ohio State in terms of recruiting as it is. It's not unrealistic to believe that better results as a result of better coaching will bring in even better recruits.
