Same, nothing you mentioned was said in the link. But if it is true I'm truly disgusted. All thats being said is that greg is going to chicago to train and the nfl has not contacted him.

I noticed this on GB's twitter earlier too. Definitely a head scratcher. I feel like this won't be the last we hear about this. Maybe after signing day passes and things wind down on that front, Hoke will place some more focus on these things.

Perhaps more hilarious is Brandon Graham making a tat-gate Pryor joke to Kurt Coleman. I'll admit, I laughed.

Hoke is out recruiting, trying to put a class together? Did rr staff help henne or long? I'm not trying to be a dick, we don't know the whole story. Wildly speculating about a vague tweet, drunk, at 2am is not helping anyone.

Wellman said he hadn't even gotten a chance to meet the whole team yet. No where does it say that they've been told "no, we won't help you." And I'm sure Hoke and co. are really used to dealing with a ton of possible NFL players from their days at Ball State and SDSU.

Let the situation play out for at least a few days before ranting like a child.

This post is ridiculous. Hoke got the job 2 weeks ago and National Signing Day is Wednesday.  A few weeks ago, we were all making lists of Hoke's top priorities for his first several weeks on the job.  Most lists went something like this:

1. Lock up Denard

2. Lock up the rest of the squad

3. Recruit like mad

3. Hire a DC

4. Hire an OC

5. Recruit like mad

6. Get the team going on winter workouts

7. Start working on a way to effectively utilize Denard

8. Recruit like mad

Then add to the list all the things that apply to Hoke's personal life... like, yanno, moving your family across the country and changing jobs. Did anyone list "get outgoing Seniors ready for the draft?" No. Is it important? Yes. But National Signing day is Wednesday, and we just finished hiring position coaches. I would venture to guess that Hoke hasn't had more than 4 hours of sleep since accepting the job. Go to sleep.

You're right, if there's one thing rr took care of it was getting kids drafted.

Came in, read Mr. Rider's first few comments, started packing his bags for Bolivia. Seriously, its not even the broad assumption based claim he made, but how he wrote it. F-bomb this and F-bomb that, seemed like every other word was some variation of" fuck". Oh...but its OK, he's drunk! I never understood why people act like complete jackasses when they're under the influence. Hell, I've had more than a few tonite, and I am perfectly calm, waiting for RELIABLE INFORMATION.

Mr. Rider apparently doesn't want a bright future for the program, since he wants Hoke in AA working Banks out instead of saving the recruiting class. The draft is still a few months away. NSD is Wed. Hoke has his priorities straight. Do you? Next time you have some drinks, stay away from the keyboard, bucco.

Everyone saying stuff about wanting Hoke being here to work the players out vs recruit them... what?  I don't think people are saying Hoke should be here helping the players work out, but that the S&C staff, who are not going to be out recruiting, should be helping Banks and the other seniors work out and prepare.  Hoke and recruiting are not relevant, stop bringing them up.

Pretty much the only important question here is this: Are Wellman and his staff just too busy getting the new S&C regime set up with the players who will be here next year to help out the seniors right now (but will help them out as soon as they can), or are they just not helping out the seniors because they don't care to/other reason?

Has anyone confirmed whether Greg Banks truly posted the tweet about the lack of S&C staff help on workouts?  Someone else could have gotten a hold of Banks' account info and in sympathy to the old S&C staff, posted the tweet to make the new S&C staff look bad..

Was the S&C staff approached directly and specifically for workout assistance?  The S&C staff are not mind readers.  They just came on board and are still trying to get oriented to their new environment.  This could simply be a communications issue.

Unless an effort has been made to resolve this issues internally, these concerns should not aired publicly.

This is reminiscent of the Brock Mealer incident.  Is there a conspiracy to discredit the new S&C staff?

Perhaps you should take the time to write an email to Brandon asking if what you are hearing is true and then suggesting in much more professional terms than you are using here that it does not portray UM in positive light if it is not supporting those youngsters that gave blood, sweat, and tears over some of UM's toughest years.  Frankly, I think that will generate a better response than your over the top diatribe.   And on second thought, perhaps you should not write the email because it does not appear you are capable of rational discourse.

And secondly, perhaps you should take a deep breath after you are done stalking players on tweet and try and find out if everything stated is accurate.   I imagine you also likely blew up when you read the inaccurate accounts about Barwis and Mealer. 

Understand that with change, there is always some transition messiness that needs worked out.  

Some s & c staffs don't know how to prepare their guys for the NFL combine. It's completely different than normal s & c. Then there are some s & c that do the combine training but don't know how to do it properly and hurt more then help.

maybe he is over-reacting.  But we all have to keep an eye on this.  Our seniors were loyal to the program.  Many could have jumped after the 2009 season.  But they know, those who stay will be champions.

I, for one, will give Hoke and Wellman the benefit of the doubt on this one.  However, after signing day and things get settled in, I would hope that our seniors, the guys who stuck with us over the worst 3 years in our history, would get some help training for the NFL draft. 

These are Michigan Men for sure.  We have to stick together.  I would like to see that any former football player have access to the facilities.  Now the current team comes first, but if a former player wants to workout with a couple other players, then why not.  What is it going to hurt?  Maybe the time slot availability is not the greatest but some of the assisstants could help as well.  Just my opinion

1.  Why do you take what Banks twitters as gospel?

2.  Better yet, why is Banks twittering this at all--to twits like all of us-- instead addressing it to those who can do something about it--Hoke, or the Athletic Deparment if the football department is being inappropriate.

3.  "aren't" helping isn't the same as "won't" help.

4.  Give people time to move in--give us a few days to recruit.  Hell, let's finish filling our staff.

5.  The effing draft isn't even until April 22--jeez relax.

6.  Unless you're related to Banks, your anger seems just a tad over-the-top---don't you think?

I don't think this is that big of a deal, even if he doesn't get helped by draft day. The staff's responsibility is that of people on the team.

This is why kids make such a big deal about committing to teams that do not have any stability issues. Has the new staff even helped the current team at all? Or have they spent all of their time preparing. This guy is graduating, maybe trying out for the draft. I don't see how that is a Michigan responsibility. Professional courtesy perhaps but not responsibility. If the staff had been around for a year and a player like this was around, I would have more expectations of this player getting the help he wants. These trainers aren't at the whim of Greg Banks. Ready to work out when he is.

Perhaps he should go out and find help. Get some people that will are experts at getting kids NFL draft ready, instead of just some college coaches.

The program is in major turmoil still, and we're worrying about a senior that isn't going to get drafted that still has two months to prepare and whether he's getting the right amount of face time with the staff? Program first, professional courtesies after.

And is he still on the team? Does any of this have any ramifications towards practice time? I don't know the rules? I wouldn't mind them clarified.

If the guy hasn't figured out how to lift by the time he's a fifth year senior, there is nothing a S&C coach can do for him.  The NFL Combine is pretty clear on what kind of weight lifting they have kids do and I'm sure with a Michigan education Banks can google up that list of exercises and start working on them.  It's not like he's being denied access to the facility or Wellman is ordering kids/staff not to spot him, he's just not getting personal attention from the S&C coach.  

Also for the record, Wellman does have recruiting duties, namely hosting type things.  Kids are are thinking about playing us typically want to meet the S&C guy.  Plus he's running small group workouts all day.

and thats a big "IF", Banks is an RR apologist and doesnt really approve of the whole CC situation. Maybe this could be his way of supporting the ex-coach since he wont be able to have a voice on the team anymore. Its all speculation though, as again, we are going off of a twitter conversation. This is pretty ludicrous in my opinion. Trying to get ex-Wolverines involved (D Howard) is stupid but I think he's smart enough to know what to do with this.

He doesn't even know everyone's name yet I'm sure! He's probably getting the younger guys ready first and figures the seniors should know something by now so he'll deal with them last.

Banks knows where Dave Brandon's office is. if he was truly concerned, he wouldn't be messaging a former player - he'd be notifying the AD that his new employees are not helping the way they should.
