NIKE please, without the bastardization of the M brand.
I don't find it that ugly... Yeah not the right style if you're 35+ years old and wear a suit every day, but come one, it's a t-shirt, I wouldn't wear my Ganesha T-shirt to work either.....
I wouldn't wear this t-shirt to a football game, which is its whole point. Also, as someone stated above, why make a blue shirt for a night game?
If you wear that t-shirt, regardless of age, you might as well wear white sandals and a white watch with it.
What's so bad about this shirt? It's just maize and blue with a clever/corny slogan. Much like all of the shirts sold on this very website.
do a maize-out for this game? so not many of these shirts will be bought by students
it's a shirt.
Stop saying that. We have nothing else.
as what a 16 year-old football player is doing, right?
To some people, I suppose. The emotional investment some fans take in recruits is just as asinine as getting angry about a shirt, though (not implying you're guilty of either to be clear).
but this is crying out for another frontpage fisking. I don't care if the topic is overdone at this point. This is ridiculous. I can't believe how far we have fallen (in terms of marketing/brand identity, dignity etc) since DB took over.
IT'S BETTER WITH THE LIGHTS ON
is 1000x better than that line...I'm guessing a client (DB?) didn't "get" the first one and it was changed to be more literal and understandable. Lame.
That said, I'd never buy it. But I can see how the creative died a painful death.
they are marketing this shirt towards employees of Famous Dave's and Joe's Crab Shack...jk
But seriously, I will admit that I still have plenty of innuendo t-shirts in my closet from high school/freshman year at EMU and I may even be caught wearing one while working out from time to time. (I'm a t-shirt packrat). I think there is a target market out there that will gobble up these shirts, to each their own in terms of style. If you don't care for it, feel free to scoff on the inside towards those who have an under-developed sense of humor in your eyes.
So I guess I don't understand why people hate it. It's a funny, innuendo saying on a T-shirt. Very, very common this day in age.
What makes it better? It's about MICHIGAN!
Some of these people freaking out about this cheapening the brand need to take a look at some of the MGoStore's current and past offerings (which are awesome, btw). If you don't like it, don't buy it.
At least it doesn't have an Arby's logo.
Thats what she said
#1, we have to go Maize for the night game...
#2, I'm glad this is at the top of our worries!
Yeah, I wonder if what the players and fans are going to wear to the B1G opener is at the top of the worry list down at OSU?
The biggest problem is its not in maize and this game should be a maize out. Beyond that you guys need to chill out, none of this is adidas and none of this brandon. You guys seriously think brandon is paying attention to t-shirts being sold in the m-den? I don't understand the Brandon hate here. He hired a good coach in Hoke and has yet to actually sell advertising in Michigan stadium, step back off the ledge and just enjoy the fact that Michigan is going to be back in the national spotlight for a game for the first time in a long time.
I'm sure someone will have multiple problems with this one as well.
I actually like this shirt; i just wish they were promoting Maize. Night game, gotta go Maize on this one.
I agree though, folks are over reacting about the jerseys and shirts and such.
The thing is, it's only June. They still have plenty of time to put out a maize shirt. Besides, wearing the night game t-shirt to the night game is like wearing a band's concert t-shirt to the concert.
Wait, I like that one... I don't think I like pink polos and popped collars though. I'm so conflicted...
Simple design that harkens back to an older era with the text, the helmet renderings. Yes, Maize would be ideal and the Under the Lights logo needs to go. But hey, that's about marketing and creating something visible, unique and a way to sell something new.
Again, does anyone thing Canham wouldn't do the same? He essentially did. He put the Block M on anything he could find. At the time, that was sacrilige. Maybe Maize is on the way.
Our new jersey pattern:
I mean, if you are going to go the full 'tard...
Oooh that will go lovely with my pink polo and its popped collar.
Our new jersey pattern for next year:
'Cus if you're gonna go for the full 'tard, go the full 'tard.
jesus tapdancing christ don't fucking buy it.
Shouldn't it be maize so that we could conceivably see it at the night game? Do none of these people actually watch television?
I don't believe this is meant to be the "official, wear it to the game" t-shirt, assuming there will be such a thing. Just one of many trinkets being offerred that reference the game.
FIrst and second-year, some third-year, undergrads will buy these.
If they changed the design of the M, then looks okay
Did anyone notice the Michigan FlaminGO fans? That is a product someone should be put in a burlap sack and beaten repeatedly for.
I was just in MDen about 15 minutes ago and this is just the first shirt of many. To me, lame slogans, etc. don't matter much, BUT what does tick me off is that these shirts were in the following colors: blue, white, and gray.
Normally, I'd be perfectly fine, but with a 99% chance that this game will be a maizeout, it just baffles me that these shirts will not be in maize. It's as if adidas, mden, and the athletic department want the fans to do maizeouts, but then provide all apparel in blue, white, and gray. Our maizeouts are already weak enough! Don't work against the cause, try to make as much apparel in maize as possible, it only makes sense, or abandon the maizeout
