Earlier on this very blog, I read we were pursuing DL Michael Dwumfour

I know we had a separate Rashan Gary thread earlier, but have any crystal balls flipped to USC for him?

"He could definitely go to USC," Conley said. "The visit was a game-changer."

Also, did they ever finalize on a real Head Coach?

Not long ago Leonard Williams was the 6th pick in the NFL Draft and was even higher on most of the "Big Boards". USC doesn't struggle to produce NFL talent anywhere, they just haven't had a complete and consistent team since Pete Carroll left.

Plus one for your rational summary of USC and USC football today Cali Wolverine. I think Coach Harbaugh, Coach Brown, Coach Mattison, other relationships, academics, and the trajectory of Michigan football, coupled with the great atmosphere of Ann Arbor will be tough to beat, especially after Rashan Gary's mom made it sound like Michigan is the benchmark today.
Meanwhile, I think Khaleke Hudson will really thrive and be a force to be reckoned with under our outstanding defensive coaching staff, should he decide to come to Michigan. Go Blue !

and instead ends up at USC, we'll all be looking at you. you coulda/shoulda/woulda done something to avert that when he was right there in your backyard.

But she also said:
We met (defensive coordinator Clancy) Pendergast for about five minutes because he just came on campus (Saturday), and they have not named their defensive line coach, so that is something we need to know. You really can't make a decision if you don't have a defensive line coach.

That they would need a DL coach hired before they could seriously consider them, or words to that effect.
And since Nat'l signing day is like ... 3 weeks away ...

No flips
January 17th, 2016 at 5:37 PM ^
No.
People gotta chill with the Gary stuff. Every time he has gone on a visit somewhere, the reaction has been OMG HE HAS A NEW LEADER! It continues to happen with Ole Miss, even after he happened to have a bad visit, it happened with USC, it's going to happen when he visits Clemson. Even Ohio State was regarded as moving to the top of his recruitment based on Greg Schiano's hiring. Almost all of said speculation has been based on the kind of fluff quotes that every recruit makes after any visit. He is the #1 recruit in the country and the recruiting sites are going to milk every moment of his recruitment until signing day.

You are correct sir I just heard that Chicken Little balz that the sky is indeed falling.
January 17th, 2016 at 9:17 PM ^
That sucks, but does Chicken Little think Gary's going to pick Michigan?
January 17th, 2016 at 6:09 PM ^
I agree people totally overreact. Especially about the entire Schiano thing.
What he did at Rutgers was start scheduling easy out of conference team. When you combine that with a Big East that lost its major powers, Rutgers started to look like an above average school. He started getting mediocre to above average recruits and winning some games. He parlayed that into a NFL head coaching and Rutgers got to join the Big Ten.
There is almost no chance he does anything but destroy OSU defence.
Schiano it the epitome of NJ. He is bright enough to realize that you aren't gonna take a below average/horrible personality girl and turn her into Ms. America. What you can do is take a below average girl, get her a bunch of plastic surgery, and dress her very provactively. People start to think she is actually a 6 or 7.

i wanted to put my fist through my monitor reading the reaction to a couple crystal balls going to Ole Miss.
This comment should be like a legal disclaimer that we all have to acknowlege before submitting very post.

We're to the point where we need a daily crystal ball tracker thread. Otherwise we're going to get one every time someone makes a new prediction.

Hudson was by far the best player on the field.
January 17th, 2016 at 6:33 PM ^
Hudson seems like he provides more versatility than Hill and might even be a fit for the Peppers position. Might look at him.as being a bit more critical to the class.
January 17th, 2016 at 7:55 PM ^
not sure about level of fit for nickel / peppers spot or relative importance (the coaches obviously must determine that) but hudsons absolutely more versatile than hill. and versatility is huge, harbaugh loves guys who not only seriously impact the game but might be able to do so from various positions and/or phases.
hudson could potentially play 2-3 positions on D (depending on his development, depth chart, etc) not to mention possibly helping on ST and O. hill is just a CB in college (and a decent CB prospect but one that didnt appear to get his hands on many footballs, at least the high school tape i saw)
