Need an MGoBlog Vote Please

Another questionable outdoor activity weather driven and family dominated Labor Day weekend gathering is upon me.   Currently outside are now football-like conditions with winds howling, dark gray looming clouds and sprinkles are in the air.  My voting question is, does one stay home with creature comforts to watch a full day of, most importantly the 3:36 kickoff game, college football from the couch or does one find a single ticket and drive Southbound four hours to tailgate with a couple friends who will be at the game?

… with family consensus permission of course with an immediate return to the Labor Day weekend events the following day.

All other things being equal, and with family consensus permission, go to the game.

Get a commemorative pin for free, get there early for a custom water bottle, see Brock lead the team out, witness a DOUBLE flyover (OMG it's SO VIVID!), see the rededication of the stadium, witness a win.

Now that I think about it, go whether your family gives permission or not.

Stay home with creature comforts?  That's more than a little on the soft side.  What next, are you going to suggest the games be moved to Ford Field so you don't have the be outside?

BTW -- they'll be thousands of folks tailgating -- so it is a faulty premise to say you'll only be tailgating with "a couple" of friends.

I drove from Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday night for the Oregon game in 2007 and left at 5am Sunday morning.  Growing up just south of Milwaukee my dad and I would take the 5 hour trip 2-3 times a year to go to games.  If you've already got the opportunity to go locked up, I would always recommend going.  With this being the stadium rededication game and Brock Mealer leading the team out, I would say its a no brainer for me.  Either way, holiday weekend with friends and family, or holiday weekend with friends and family with a brief football interlude, you can't go wrong.
