Need a little help with Meyer articles
I am having a discussion with an Ohio fan and he was wondering what all the hub-bub is about Meyer running a bad program at Florida. I know I saw some links in the past week to old articles that point out how some of the Florida fans were not happy and how many arrests etc... I didn't find them looking in the history could someone please provide them to me?
Thanks,

The perfect hire for Ohio. Tradition reigns supreme! This could be more interesting that following the dirty deeds of JT.

I like your snarky ways.

An unbelievable number of his players commited felonies, and were either not punished by the team or got off with suspensions lasting less than a quarter of football. Makes Dantonio look less awful.

on Meyer in the last few days and read the comments from the Florida fans. There's a lot of insights there (and not a lot of happiness!)

FWIW - on WKNR (ESPN Cleveland) yesterday they interviewed a reporter that was standing next to Gene Smith when Earl Bruce came up and congradulated him on after their press conference announcing the Meyer hire. The reporter said all Smith said was "I did what I was told." When Bruce said to him "looks like we're getting a good coach" Smith repeated "I just did what I was told".
The radio hosts said Smith was basicaly announcing his replacement and they put a Gene Smith AD death pool at three months.

I guess the only question is how they will spin it. I wonder if Gordon Gee has an under the table agreement with Mark Emmert to fire Smith shortly after the punishment is announced?

All you need to say to an Ohio fan is that we've had more success against Meyer than Tressel and that we're glad he's their new coach. It really annoys them when you cite facts that suggest Meyer might actually be a downgrade, contrary to popular belief.

Here's an exchange I had with a friend of mine on Facebook. His post was something to the effect of "To all my Michigan friends, enjoy this year's win because it's the last one you're going to have." That was followed by a bunch of Michigan comments, then this:
Friend: I'm sorry, I can't read your comments because Urban Meyer's two National Championship rings are getting in the way.
Me: You mean the ones he won with our defensive coordinator, whom Urban Meyer called the best recruiter in the country?
(Long pause until the next comment)
Friend: No.
Nice comeback.

I'm pretty sure it's $1 more than Saban makes, and/or the highest paid SEC coach. But I've been wrong before.

I can't remember which ones, but google "Florida Gators football blogs." After you get past the newspaper "blogs," you will find that there are a couple that go very deep for their info and have clever fans in their forums. If you really want to dig, it might take ten minutes because a standard search doesn't always get what you are looking for.
It might not get you a list as good as the one that was here a couple of days ago, but the Gator fans are very entertaining, as those of most fanbases are.
