And did you catch the brain fart he floated near the end of the game? With ND facing 4th-and-1 late in the 4th quarter, ND took a time out. Musberger asks Herbstreit whether they've taken the time out so that they can get a 5-yard penalty to make the punt more favorable. WTF?!?
Herbstreit responds (with detectable incredulity in his voice) that he thinks they're going for it and want to talk it over. To which Musberger responds, "Got it!"

On paper and on the field this was not a good performance by either team. Both, obviously, look quite beatable. ND was 1-14 on 3rd down. With those numbers they will lose to UM.
