ND Tickets

Submitted by gremlin on

I suppose I could have mentioned this in the "Tickets for Little Brother" thread, but acquiring tickets for this game is a different animal.  Does anyone have any idea of how to go about finding a pair, or a group of 4, without going to stubhub?

Thanks.

Craigslist is your best bet, the prices on ebay are too high right now...everything on there is buy it now or the starting bid is really high.

They're pretty hard to come by, from what I understand.  If you have contacts in the AD or hold season tickets, you might be able to work something out.  I know someone who has had season ticekts for decades, and he was limited to two tickets the past 3 games @ ND.  I guess what I'm saying is unless you have the hook-up or connections, your best bet is going to be either a ticketbroker stubhub.  Good luck.

Its a bit of a risk but I think buying from scalpers is the way to go. My parents came up to AA to see me during an osu game a few years back and waited for the game to start when scalpers are looking to get rid of tickets in order to break even and they paid $20 a ticket.

My experience is that you can usually get tickets prior to the game (even without scalpers) by just going to ND stadium.  A certain number of people hoard tickets and most of ND's fan base hase to travel to get there - not many people make the long trip without having a ticket.  It usually results in a fair number of tickets getting sold right before game time when the hoarders realize all their friends have tickets already.  Getting 4 together would be the problem - also helps if you wear something over your M gear.

not sure, but I was able to purchase a UConn student ticket for the UM game yesterday, which is pretty sweet. Now I just need to be able to get my self to A2

I made a living as a student scalping tickets for two seasons. What I found is that in buying tickets before game time, the farther away from the stadium you were, you could negotiate better. Once you got nearer the stadium there were a lot of other people offering the same service and the free market takes over. Sellers want the highest price and buyers want to pay the lowest price.

When the commodity has less value (after kick-off) the prices go down dramatically. Again, the guys farther away had fewer customers passing their way and don't want to get stuck eating the ticket, so selling it for something, albeit not very much, is better than nothing. Around the stadium gates, people are still coming in, so although the prices drop after the kick-off, they are still higher than say Pioneer lot or Ann Arbor Golf and Outing lot. If you have a cute girl in your party have her walk through the tailgates. As an alum, I frequently just "give" extra tickets away. But since my group has 12 seats together, I want to give them to someone I would rather sit next to (an attractive young lady rather than a 3XL drunk).

I don't know if that helps, but good luck.

Indiana prohibits scalping specifically for boxing matches only.  However, at ND, the area around the stadium is private property and scalping above face value is prohibited by the ND campus police.  Violation will get you kicked off the property and prevent future ticket buying rights.  Most people who sell near the stadium will do it at face value or discreetly because they don't want to lose their season ticket privileges.
