ND Nostradamus and the Irish Nadir

Submitted by HAIL 2 VICTORS on

On the ND message boards this man is being hailed as a Nostradamus.  Check out the date on the post-incredible prophecy.

If the rumors are true, ND enters the game without three skill players, Floyd, Riddick, and Allen. The offense is immediately under pressure--if our main offensive weapons are absent, the burden falls heavily on untested freshmen and others who have been tested and failed, e.g., Kamara. It would be one thing if we could run the ball, but we cannot. Thus, I see a lot of 3 and outs.

In turn, the Navy will run the ball all over the place. They will have 3 or 4 long (7-8 minute) drives. If they score on, say, two of these drives, the score at the half could well be 14-0 or 14-3.

Kelly panics. In the second half, we throw down after down. We might get lucky, maybe score once. Meanwhile, Navy controls the ball for most of the half. They score twice, maybe get a field goal. The game ends with a score like 31-13, or if we have been stalwart, 27-20.

Kelly and his staff are exposed, and his administration goes into what a friend has described as a "death spiral". A loss to Navy in his first year sets the tone regardless of what happens the rest of the year; or, regardless of what he does in coming years if he is allowed to stay. He is dead man walking.

With the loss to Navy, we go to 4-4. A closer-than-it-should-be win at home against Eastern Oklahoma Tech, a shellacking at the hands of the Utes, a scrimmage in Yankee Stadium, and a prison rape in LA. 6-6. Weis redux.

That kid knows what he's talking about. ND should try him out at head coach. If he doesn't like that maybe we can steal him away as kicker....

Does anyone know what the terms of Kelly's contract are? How long/buyout, that kind of thing?

But realistically, I would hope that Notre Dame's Athletic Department isn't as rash as their message boards. I seriously doubt they will fire him after one season, especially in the very likely event that they finish at .500.

When has OSU (The Vest) been medicore? A team can't "sink back to mediocrity" if they have never been mediocre in the first place.

In regards to Sparty, every loyal UM fan should be hoping that Dantonio gets offered a HC job with a much more prestigious program this offseason (Georgia, maybe?) because he has got the Aggies going in the right direction, for sure.

Finally, f*ck Notre Dame! I hope they suck in perpetuity.

Regarding Dantonio, screw him.  He resorted to trickery to beat ND and Northwestern and beat Wisky with a banged up Clay.  And the UM game?  Those 3 picks we threw with no pressure had a lot to do with the final score.

Let him and that ticker of his stay right there at MSU.  We should never, and I repeat never, be scared of a head coach, especially when it's MSC we're talking about. We have been, still are, and will continue to be Michigan.  We should be able to compete and beat a team when they're "rising".  So let Sparty keep bringing it on.  I'm cool with us stockpiling all this talent from all over the country...well mostly from Florida.  Because when they mature and get experience, this bus gonna roll through these Big Ten towns, including East Lansing, and smash them in the mouth.

Trying to put those transfers on him was unfair.  Mallett didn't want to be here anyway.  Plus Manningham and Arrington probably were itching to get out of here already.  Geez, it seems like Lloyd had an ongoing issue with keeping Arrington's head on straight.  Boren may be the one that hurts though.  He could've been worth one win last year (ie. the goal line stand/debacle vs. Illinois) but if he was going to be a distraction, then it wouldn't be worth it.

When I saw the score of the game, I thought to myself "Holy shit, that raving lunatic from the ND message board was probably right on."

I bet everyone who read that post here and saw the game/score thought the same thing.
