4/5 star Corner. Looks like he's going to visit Clemson and maybe LSU.
Not sure if this means anything with Yuri, but Darby is very talented and this is good news for us UM fans.
From the comments below, it seems like our chances are pretty low, but I agree with you whole heartedly. Darby has elite speed. Like Denard level speed (I think he's a smidge slower?). He'd be a tremendous addition to our secondary.
Reeves would be good too.
Avatar is a reference to this. Go Blue!
I think Reeves would be the last corner of the class. To me this just screams Wright to ND, especially with them gaining his teammate.
Quick! To the Hindenpeter!
Wright to ND isn't a huge loss for us IMHO.
From the AA practices, and from watching game tape, he projects at a safety in college. We already have some good ones in the 2012 class.
Reeves would be a nice addition, however.
How can Wright stand Kelly tho? How can anyone stand Kelly..
Playing football on Wall Street
You not knowing the man at all, and solely forming an opinion based off a sideline outburst. I scream and get pissed off when I have a shitty day at the golf course, just so happens there aren't TV cameras pointed right at my face.
We have no idea what Kelly is like in the locker room, or in practice. I know Te'o came back, why would he come back if he detested the coach? Why hasn't there been any attrition the last 2 years? Wouldn't Weis's players be leaving if Kelly was such an asshole to them?
Kelly does SEEM like a jerk, but the fact is I've never met the man, so I have no idea what he's like.
Janeane Garofalo (Film Actors Guild): "As actors it is our responsibility to read the newspaper, and then say what we read on television like it's our opinion"
rumor has it that Michigan didn't even consider him as a candidate (after Lloyd) because Kelly is an ass.
"They're stuck with that quarterback (sophomore Braxton Miller) for the next two or three years, that's fine with me. He throws worse than (Tim) Tebow. - Steve Everitt
Kelly seems like a jerk - because He is one! In 2 years how many QB's has he run off the program?
Also - thanks for the update on your behavior on the golf course ... bet your group really enjoys playing with someone that has little control of their emotions.
Go Blue!
No place on earth I'd rather be on a football Saturday than Michigan Stadium !
Hoke is probably getting the golden pointers ready as we speak.
"The goal, the expectation of this program is the Big Ten Championship"
The deep purple in Kelly's face scares him. He's headed for LSU.

This is rivals.......Darby will now focus on Clemson, Florida State, Auburn and LSU, with the Tigers a potential offer following the BCS championship game on Tuesday.
They gained Elijah Shumate just recently. Shumate is from Don Bosco, same as Wright.
"I'm not a vegetarian b/c I love animals. I'm a vegetarian b/c I hate plants"
I knew there wasn't any chance ND could have an elite member of their secondary not named Zbikowski.
"This might sound arrogant and if it is, it is. We're Michigan."- Brady Fucking Hoke
apparently ND isn't even in the mix anymore.
Looking for BTTYS Nike sb Michigan Dunk Highs size 14, hit me up.
I wouldn't say we need this kid. But I definitely want him. He was one of the most impressive guys in the All Star games and his speed seems unmatched in this class.
Doubt we have a chance. Seems like he know's where he wants to go and has for awhile. Wonder how ND let him slip away.
It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
It's a miracle that all their recruits aren't leaving.
Yep, that's Simba made out of a pineapple.
I wasn't serious. Just curious how it took him this long. I never understad why high ranked kids commit there. Must like preseason rankings more than winning.

its the first rate education at a storied program guaranteed to be on TV every Saturday with a propesity for putting players in the NFL. Other than that, I have no idea either.
1) First rate eduction: Sure, but is it better than Stanford, Michigan, UNC, Cal, Texas, Georgia Tech...? Maybe, but they are all in basically the same league.
2) Guaranteed to be on TV every Saturday: With ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, VS, ESNPU, BTN, Thursday night games, Wed night games... almost every big time program is on TV, especially in the sports package. This isn't 15 years ago. With the BTN, you can even watch Indiana play every week, if you actually wanted to.
3) Which Kelly players are in the NFL and doing well? What about ND? They have a solid amount of NFL players, but who is good? Who is a Pro Bowler?

Addressing these comments about Wright I don't even want him anymore it has been thrown around on this board that he projects at safety now and I couldn't agree more.
I'm starting to think that if a kid is going to go to a big time school that's not us I'd rather it be ND or Clemson. At least you know they'll underachieve no matter how much talent they have and the lost recruit won't come back to bite us.

disagrees
Sorry, poor antecedent identification I guess. "They" was in reference to the team. They can have all the stars they want but the teams as a whole don't scare me that much.

YES. Oh my god yes. This just made my day. My hatred of Notre Dame is legendary. I could not be happier to hear this. Why, God, why would you let a school that mediocre at football in the last 20 years be able to recruit so well? This seems like justice. God I hate Notre Dame.
It's my birthday tomorrow, this must be a sign.
Wasnt there some talk about Hoke pursuing 2 new targets? Maybe thats just a rumor but it would be awesome if they were going after Darby.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.
I'd be surprised if this doesn't seal Yuri Wright to ND.
I hope there is another corner in this class whoever it may be.
anything that keeps crazy kelly from establishing something resembling the defense he keeps promising is all right by me
Weren't we still talking to a current Tenn commit that is a DB? I cant remember his name but I swear I had read it on here during the Free Arnett days.
I don't think he's visiting, though.
Tradition is something you can't bottle. But it is there to sustain you when you need it most. I've called upon it time and time again.
Can't blame the kid for not wanting to board the Kelly crazy train.
"But in the tire fire that was last year's secondary he showed a little spark." - Brian Cook
I was on the Yuri Wright bandwagon for a long time until I saw him play in the Army game. I know it is one game and I shouldnt put much stock in it, but he looked horrible. Also, Sam Webb has been saying for weeks now that Reeves is the better prospect. Wright has great size and speed, but has only been playing ball for a few years. I know he has a lot of upside and potential once D1 coaches get a hold of him, but I am now switching to the Armani Reeves bandwagon. I think Wright will end up at ND, and that means we need Armani bad. I think the hiring of Bill O'brien might have helped us out. Im anxious to see who is going to be the DC for PSU. Hopefully Hoke put on his wizard hat, bc we need another elite DB.
THOSE WHO STAY WILL BE CHAMPIONS
Kind of not surprised - he's a mid-atlantic guy and those southern schools are closer to home and offer some semblance of defensive consistency.
Still expect Reeves to go Blue, but this probably puts Yuri on the fast track to the Golden Dome.
My boss, a South Carlina grad, said he read that the Don Bosco Prep football coach was getting a job at Notre Dame .... ???
Any truth to that?

New PSU coach called him tonight. Interested in setting up a visit to OSU and Michigan as well.
He was great at the UA game earlier in the week. He would be a great get if we can convince him to visit..
as long as he doesn't commit to msu or ohio, i guess this is good news. but yeah, looks like our chances with yuri got smaller with this. oh well, here's to getting reeves.
It's been a lot. Its been a roller coaster that for some reason seemed like it would never get good. But you know what? We kept fighting. It's like that old saying goes, "Those Who Stay Will Be Champions." -David Molk
This so smells of Tuitt and Lynch. Don't worry Bob Diaco is waiting in his driveway to have a discussion with the boy before the dead period. ND is still in it.
I think that the Don Bosco to ND connection might be explained (at least partially) by the fact that Don Bosco is a Catholic school as well. After reading the New Yorker piece about Don Bosco, I can see why going from one Catholic school program to another can be appealing if a player comes of age in such an environment. Heck, I'd agree with the statement that the ND name means a lot in Catholic circles (e.g. Kyle Rudolph out of Cincinnati Elder, a Catholic School Program along with Andrew Hendrix out of Cincinnati Moeller, the same program as Monty Madaris).
I would say the Catholic School connection could be legit. I live in Nashville and the private Catholic School here is named the Irish and their fight song is the ND fight song. And most people that I run into from that school love ND. I, however, as a Catholic, despise notre dame. Just because they are a Catholic school doesn't mean I will like them. I bleed Maize and Blue. Although I can see how a recruit would naturally at least consider notre dame. They'll always get good recruits but until they get a coach that can do something with that talent they will always be mediocre. A successful notre dame recruiting class doesn't scare me one bit.
Remember Who You Are!
Interesting thought. I went to high school in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and they have 2 Catholic high schools. One in particular, Bishop Dwenger, seems to feed into Notre Dame quite well. I didn't know whether it was the Catholic connection, but I suppose the geographic connection would be justified, more so than Nashville or New Jersey, I suppose.
They've produced the likes of John Goodman (2008), Tyler Eifert (2009), and Tony Springman (2011, although I honestly havent heard mention of him).
"Welllllllll..."
For better or worse, people really believe in private schools. Quite often (say, in so-so neighborhoods / communities) this is justified. It's easy to see where a family from disadvantaged background would, based on the experience of their offspring at (say) Don Bosco, be enthusiastic about sending their child to Notre Dame. (This assumes at least some involvement of the parents in the process.)
Tell them that UMich is in the same ballpark academically (talking undergrad here)? No sell -- it's a public school and they already know the deal with those (lousy).
"500 channels and nothing but cats."
We are so desperate to have an elite one for this class.
