ND game to be televised on ESPN at 8 pm
Just saw this at MGoBlue.com. The ND game will be carried by ESPN at 8 pm. No word on who will be calling the game.

Note: It will not be carried on ABC because it conflicts with a Nascar race.
They still air Nascar?
What the fuck is "NASCAR"?
Sweet, I gotta start saving my pennies so I can afford a ticket.
I'm guessing game day will be there? No idea who else plays that week though.

<br>I know I'll be there! Got the word yesterday, 4 tix to ND/SDSU package. Yessir!
Notable Games:
Alabama @ PennSt
OreSt @ Wisconsin
Toledo @ OhioSt
FresnoSt @ Nebraska
MissSt @ Auburn
BYU @ Texas
Arizona @ OkState
SoCarolina @ Georgia
Utah @ USC
Miss St. @ Auburn would be pretty interesting. Maybe someone will papier mache Cam Newton's new statue with monopoly money.
This sounds like an oddly intriguing new tradition.
Since when is Toledo @ tosu a noteable game?
Did you get confirmation via e-mail? I'm extremely paranoid now. I thought you could only buy 2 tix for the ND game?
My sis and mom each received 2 tix through the alumni association. Got confirmation emails yesterday. We had a local courier drop them off by hand when the doors opened.
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Desmond Howard, who was visiting my high school, his alma mater, and I specifically asked about gameday being there. His reply was, "I sure hope so, it'll be electric." That sounds like enough verification for me, although, a lot could change between now and then.
8 pm on ESPN would usually be about 95% sure that it's going to be Todd Blackledge and Brad Nessler. I hope it is them, they're pretty good.
However, bdsisme's info above could mean that we'll get Herbstreit and Musberger. They usually do the ABC primetime game which apparently will not exist that weekend. So they might be the ESPN team and move Blackledge/Nessler to ESPN2.
If Herbie is calling the game and Desmond is being honored at the game, there is a very good chance gameday will be there. I know they fly Herbie out to other games after gameday, but it just makes sense if 2 of the 4 commentators will already be at UM, along with Erin Andrews. And gameday hasn't been to Ann Arbor in years, and it will be Hoke's first big rivalry game, so all the stars are aligning for gameday to be in attendance.
...from last month indicates that College GameDay will be there.
didn't put the desmond and gameday connection together, until now, thats another good sign
Both of those combos are good. I just can't stand Millen. I guess it doesn't matter to me since I'll be at the game :), but then again I hope ESPN spares you of his idiocy if you can't make it to that game.
As long as nothing has changed. Millen does the 3:30 abc game. So he will not be doing the game. Hated what he did with the lions. But I have worked with him. and he was very nice. And out going. I am a local camera op. He was very helpful in the camera meeting. Giving info on what he saw at practice. And info he got from the coach's. I understand why fans hate him, as a GM or tv talent. But as a person he is cool.
I'd be surprised if gameday is not there. First night game in history. New coach. Kelly is from Michigan. Big rivalry. Sounds like gameday to me.
As an out-of-stater, I'm happy. Occasionally the Saturday night games on ABC get regional coverage and I'm stuck with some Pac 10 12 or Big XII game instead of the Big Ten game. But the ESPN games never get regional coverage, so I'll definitely be able to watch without having to scramble to find it.
I'm pretty sure our game against MSU got ESPN regional coverage last year... I remember because I was ticked that the ESPN alternate channel it aired on for DirecTV was not available in HD.
The afternoon games aren't the same deal, since the Big Ten TV deal requires reverse mirroring of the games on ESPN/ESPN2 outside of the ABC region. While not having that game in HD was annoying, at least I could still watch it on my TV (how did we ever survive before HD?). However, this is not the case for the night games. If you aren't in region for the ABC broadcast, your two (legal) choices are to buy ESPN GamePlan or go to a bar with GamePlan.
thats the worst. Although I remember not being able to get them at all like 10 years ago, so that was the worstest.

Decent way to see what other games are on that day (assuming they are correct). Cocks/UGa and Bama/PSU are listed as the same day - good early season match-ups. Hope my neighbors at AAGO have their TV that day.
For Keith Jackson to call that game, I think it would be amazing for him as well. Most of my favorite Michigan memories have Keith Jackson's commentary in them.
That would be nice, but not gonna happen. Jackson retired after the Texas USC rose bowl.
pretty sure he was mainly only doing west coast games the last few years before he retired.
When was the last time Herbie did one of our games? 07 Illinois?
He called the night game at Iowa during RR's 2nd year.
Bumped for NASCAR? Seriously? WTF.
Contractual dude. But considering how many people have espn/espn3 these days, I don't really think it matters much.
We don't have ESPN in Canuckistan, comrade. :(
I'm bummed, though. I only have basic cable as I don't watch televsision nearly enough to warrant the expense of digital (HD) cable, so I will have to watch the game in glorious looks-like-the-camera-lens-is-smeared-with-Vaseline standard definition. Ugh.

Is that going 4-0 or 5-0 to start won't get any of us really excited. RR went undefeated to start almost every year he was our coach, but fell off the cliff in the B10 season. I don't really expect Hoke to start 5-0, but I expect to win more games than we did last year. Hoke's brand of football will better match up with how the B10 plays ball. Going back to my original point, it will take 2 months to really see how this year will end up turning out.
As far as the UM vs. ND game this year, I will be at the stadium if it takes a ton of money to get it to happen. I doubt I can get tickets before gameday, but I will be happy to scalp to see such a historic matchup in my lifetime. Go Blue!!!
go to bar
watch game there
drank some beers
all is HD well
I probably will head to the British pub in town instead of the Irish pub for my own personal safety. But yeah, that sounds like a solid plan.
