I have not been impressed with Kelly's gameday coaching. He has been great with player development (i.e. his QBs), but some of his decisions are just reckless as opposed to being aggressive.

You seem to forget that ND is loaded with top-tier recruits.  He didn't come into a program that had empty cupboards and had to rebuild with 2/3 star recruits.  All things considered, even after losing Jimmah & Co. that team was still pretty stacked with young talent and they are now 1-2.

I don't visit ND board, but I would venture they are blowing up even worse than this one with our near miss.

I'll also add this...My son has watched them two weeks in a row and has said that Lelly seems like an A-hole and he wouldn't want to play for him.  We'll see how well he recruits now.

on the OT coin toss, MSU won, and their guy almost said just "defer" and let the nd take defense first, but he said both and the ref helped correct him.  I would have died laughing if he had actually deferred and let ND go on D first.

I hate to give Little Brother credit, but that call took a brass pair of balls... which I was prepared to step on had it backfired like it would 90% of the time. That said, MSU/ND is always an awesome game since you're assured one of those bastards will lose.

My only issue is....

They run the ball all over ND all night. They get into OT and they decide their best option is to PASS? IN OT? Please don't try to tell me they needed to lose yards to try the fake field goal in the first place.

That was some terrible play calling which got them to that point in the first place. The runs they were getting during the second half were amazing. There was a complete lack of run defense by ND. They should have run it down their throats for the TD rather than taking a couple sacks and having to throw the fake field goal.

Les Miles Syndrome:  Either your brass balls are too big to carry, or you lack the brains to know where you're going.

Glad Sparty decided to break this out on ND and not us; one more thing to cover in special teams practice.
