ND 2009: What to bring, what to do, what to wear
1. As suggested by socalblue, bring an unoppened water bottle and a pocket full of change. Drink the water(Charlie Weiss wants you to dehydrate and pass out so he can eat you) and fill the bottle 1/3 of the way full of change. Shake the heck out of it when ND has the ball.
2. At every kickoff, instead of the oooooooooooooooOOOOOhhhhhHHHH chant "Rich Rodrigues *CLAP* *CLAP* *clap*clap*clap*" rinse and repeat.
3. If the people behind you are wearing maize and blue, politely ask them if you can stand up when ND has the ball. If they say no, you respond "Fair Enough" and only stand when those in front of you do. Your response "Sorry, I cant see". If they're wearing ND crap you're not required to be courteous as they should have stayed at home.
4. Please support the team no matter the score. Try to think about sophomore Tate, sophomore Denard and freshman Devin next year. Smile knowingly and shake your head when the EA Sports NCAA 2010 champion next to you suggests he could do better.
5. Come cheer on the team on the victors walk: Noon at the corner of State and Brown.
6. Least importantly, wear maize. Vendors will be selling cheap "In Rod We Trust" T-shirts outside the stadium. This would be a nice show of solidarity.

But either way, don't buy the "In Rod We Trust" shirts from those vendors.
I got your solidarity right here: MGoStore

However, I'm ordering the Forcier and Bow Down shirts. Not a chance in hell they will get there by Saturday, hence the vendor suggestion(sorry Brian).

then I would suggest something at the MDen or at the shop in the stadium.
Don't let those cheaters prosper.

It's warm here in Chicago today: ~80º. I would imagine the same conditions will be in AA tomorrow. Dress accordingly.
September 11th, 2009 at 4:33 PM ^
Has anyone suggested starting a "Fi-re Mil-len" chant at any time? (preferably when M is up 20 in the 3rd)
September 11th, 2009 at 4:37 PM ^
Would be outstanding.
But I have to think maybe not appropriate unless (check that, WHEN) we're winning.
September 11th, 2009 at 4:49 PM ^
If your definition of outstanding is "dumb and unnecessary" then I completely agree with you!
September 11th, 2009 at 4:52 PM ^
I believe it was a joke from the get go.
September 11th, 2009 at 4:59 PM ^
exactly which part was dumb and unnecessary?
September 11th, 2009 at 5:17 PM ^
It isn't least important to wear Maize. It's a Maize Out.
Also, Victors Walk between 1 and 1:30 outside the stadium. I'm unsure what you're talking about.
September 11th, 2009 at 5:37 PM ^
some of the people around me in the student section were singing "ole ole ole ole rich rod rich rod" I rather liked it. We should do that.
I've also always thought something should be shouted after the "oooooooooooooooOOOOOhhhhhHHHH" on kickoffs. After the ball is kicked the entire stadium letting out a hearty "let's go blue!" or to be a bit edgier "fuck. shit. up." I know a few schools, like OSUcks, say something after the ball is kicked.

Be proud.

ummm ok then....?
September 11th, 2009 at 5:44 PM ^
yeah that would be cool. osu fans say ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! h-i-o
September 11th, 2009 at 5:45 PM ^
I agree. After the "oooooooooooooooOOOOOhhhhhHHHH" I've always thought maybe a *quick* "GO BLUE" could work; or a slightly elongated "Mich-i-gan."
September 11th, 2009 at 6:00 PM ^
I wouldn't do anything that would be considered copying from OSU.
September 11th, 2009 at 7:15 PM ^
I don't think it would be considered copying OSU (b/c let's face it, it's not like it'll happen), but more importantly, OSU isn't the only school who says something after kickoff, e.g., ND yells "Irish." I'm sure a bunch of schools do something similar; I just always thought it was odd that we didn't.

We are shocked and, frankly, appalled at the lack of Mustaches in your short list of items for the ND game tomorrow. Let's remedy that quickly, shall we? What's that? You thought the mustaching movement was only for the opener? Well, yeah, kinda... But the power of the 'stache prevailed! So lets once again channel our inner mustaches. For those with embarrassingly bare upper lips (how do you show your face in public?):
Print that out. Cut it out. Now wield that Mustache for Michigan like you mean it, son.

I never see fans waving towels in the stands. Is this because maize-colored towels are hard to come by? It would be cool if there were such towels distributed throughout the stadium. That would be one hell of a sight.

Chanting "Rich Rod-ri-guez" is fine, but doing it on a kickoff seems weird. There's already an established cheer for that point of the game. Do the "RR" chant during a dead point in the action.
