NCAA Tourney: Ohio is undefeated?!

Submitted by WingsNWolverines on
How is this possible? This has to be one of the worst weekends of my life. Not one single Ohio team is out! How does this happen? I can't get my around this I'm so shocked. Any explanations? Something in the Powerade? This Ohio loss is stinging worse than ever now and it's not going away...

If "no college basketball teams from Ohio lost NCAA Tournament games this weekend" is the direct cause for "one of the worst weekends of [your] life," then you've either had one hell of an amazing life or you are nine years old.

Just tell them all that matters is Final Fours and Championships.  Making the Sweet Sixteen is great and all but even the next season I'd forget about it.  Of course your Ohio coworkers won't understand this and will probably say something like "Michigan gets all their players from Ohio" as that is one of their favorites, though the "fact" is frivolous and unimportant.  What I'm really getting at is: I hate my uncle.

I have no personal animosity toward OHIO, Cincy, Xavier, or any of the MAC teams populating a mostly unpleasant state. There is one team I dislike, and even then the rivalry involves far more football than anything else.

I guess this makes me mildly ill, but not as ill as, say, the SEC getting both teams in the championship game in football.

I HATE Cincy and Ohio State, so I am glad 1 team will lose that game. Still deciding which one I want to lose more (may have to side with UC despite the whole brawl thing).

I'm more surprised to see four Big10 teams in the Sweet 16. The most teams representing one conference in the Sweet 16 is the Big East who had 5 teams in one year. They also hold the record for the most teams in the tournament with 11 which they did just last year. Its impressive but they also have 16 teams in the conference.

if ohio beats UNC, i'm pretty much set to win my my tourney pool.  I had michigan doing it, but I guess having the team who beat us do well is redeeming to some degree.

for all ohio teams, except osu, the bengals and the indians, so I don't mind at all. On a side note I would love to see X vs. UC, in the tourney, because those two hate each other. I actually have family members that are alumni from OU, UC, and X but none from osu (yet, my sister is currently pursuing her phd in communications there).

NPR did a feature on Ohio University's team this morning.  I'm rooting like hell for them. The only time I didn't like OHIO was during our game.

What better redemption for our loss than to have the team that beat us kick ass all the way up the brackets?

Even if that doesn't sway you, there is this:  Who can't love a school whose mascot punched Brutus in the face?

I know his post is whiny, but Ohio's record four teams in the sweet sixteen is a national story today.  So he sorta got it right.

there are seven teams in the last 16 within 3 hours drive of Cincinnati (Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville). I don't think we've ever seen a geographical concentration quite like this.
