NCAA Tournament, Day 2, evening games open thread
There are still plenty of games to watch tonight. I think the Providence/UNC game will be pretty good. Also, there is another 12 versus 5 seed and we all know those tend to be good ones every year for whatever reason.

Not shot?
Mines not bad, still have all my sweet 16 teams!
Community Pool.
Knock-on-would, but my Elite 8 is still in tacked.
I'm perfect still, but forgot to get into the billion bracket. I do this for the fun
Or are you still really claiming a perfect bracket? You had Mercer?
I'm tied for third with all elite 8 and 14 sweet sixteen...so far...
Ok state is done.
I'm 15th right meow but OK State effs me
Can't get enough of this!
White boy can dance
The way they are calling the game, almost like the refs have money on Gonzaga.
Actually looked to me like the refs had money on Mercer today. I thought Dook got a shitty whistle, and that never happens.
Oh my god, you have the Duke condition. Take two penicillin daily for 7 days and watch the game again to reevaluate your position. Did you shake hands with Dickie V in the past few days?
Edit: And do not forget to shower twice daily.
Duke
The game is never going to end
What did the announcer say in the OkSt Gonzaga game that has him apologizing to the viewing audience with 1:07 left?
"hack a Polack."
Worst game ever. Seriously. OK State an go to hell for starters, followed by the officials.
What did this announcer say about the player that he keeps apologizing for?
Just got home from On The Border in Dearborn and thought about going with Cal Poly and Wichita State if for no other reason than to see if the numbers pan out in at least one game. I believe Cal Poly is a 16 or 17-point underdog and, if you look at the comparison stats, the 4% estimated chance for them to win this game seems like a generous miscalculation on paper. I mean, they turn the ball over less typically than the Shockers. That's about it.
What did the announcer say in the Ok State - Gonzaga game that he keeps apologizing for?
"It's time to hack a pollack". Talking about the terrible free throw shooting polish center from Gonzaga. And his announcing partner is also of Polish decent.
Thanks, was interested but in no way was I going to remind and watch any of this game again.
Not a wise thing to say, but hope that it doesn't cost him his job or anything. Seems really sorry about it.
Who said it? That is a problem.
edit-xx
He apologized a few minutes after the comment.

The officiating was as and as his comment.
*bad
The game was nearly unwatchable the way the officials were calling fouls with almost every possession. I'm not sure it ended up favoring either side, but it sure as hell was a slow, ugly game because of it. 61 fouls and probably at least half of them shouldn't have been called. That averages out to 39 seconds of game time per foul.
This is the longest 2 minutes ever.
Nevermind, she never said that.
What do we do about the people in the mgoblog bracket challenge that picked sparty to win.
Ban them
Tar and feather
welp...this Wichita State game sucks already.
Why?
Did you expect Wichita to lose?
Can my alma mater hit a fucking free throw...
Ugh I hate doing this but another officiating blunder. Called a T on Memphis player for hanging on the rim while TWO GW players were underneath him, one with his hand on him. Such shit.
I couldn't figure that out either. Trying to see it and all I can come up with is this:
Right! "FOul...No, TWO fouls"
Or in the OK St.-Gonzaga games, the refs were probably wishing the could call 7 fouls at once.
Now and again, there is a team which makes it a mission to go out there in an early round and - too proud to let the other team do it - set themselves on fire. California Polytechnic is that team this year, from the look of things. Their effective field goal percentage is 18.52%, so hardly effective - most of the other major stats aren't promising either.
I can't remember for sure, but wasn't woffords almost as bad? I feel like wofford played as bad as anyone in the first round. Cal poly still had a second half to improve.
they are a 13 and 19 big west team. they almost finished last in their conference but won the conference tourney somehow
looks like they are for real and going to get revenge on Louisville.
Who do you like for upsets tonight? SF austin or Tulsa?
who loves that the NCAA commercial starts with trey burke's three against Kansas?
March 21st, 2014 at 11:26 PM ^
Does anyone else hate the Jay Wright (coach of Villanova) Dove commercial?
He angrily asks , "You are only going to ask one question?"
I hope he counts timeouts remaining better since he was actually asked two questions.
Dumb commercial.
I don't get why everyone falls in love with vcu every year. I mean ok the press I get it but once you beat the press their defense seems horrendous. People think they are gonna beat Florida? I just don't see it.
Yeah, they're basically a one-trick pony. Beat the press and you beat them.
Bryce Cotton is a fuggin' beast. Not sure the Fryars can keep up and/or pull this off but he's working his ass off to try and help them knock UNC off.
