Which suggests where their interests lie:  With coaches, with big name programs (and associated merchandising), with SEC . . . .

But not with poor student athletes.

So they can't promote it on Twitter?

Whoop de do. Eat a bag 'o' dicks, SEC.

You can't stop the swarm.

Dear high schoolers,

We don't plan on allowing coaches to communicate through your preferred method, and we will let them cut you if they are oversigned.

Fuck you what are you gonna do about it and sincerely yours,

NCAA

There is that, of course. We could see if anyone can still work the teletype too. Full page ads in the paper too, just like in the pre-Internet times. Actually, it would be interesting to see what else the NCAA might attempt to ban in the way of communication if it became sufficiently effective despite being seriously outmoded. This is coming from an organization that still has rules referencing fax machines like they were new fangled devices, of course.

How amazing would it be if, in response, we suddenly saw a bunch of commercials on ESPN advertising the Michigan Satellite Camps?

And how dumb is it that the camps can happen, the coaches can be there, but they can't post online that they'll happen or be there. Dumb.

...just make a flyer and send it out and let everyone else promote it on social media. It takes two seconds to take a picture and upload to Twitter or Facebook.

NCAA is so stupid. This changes nothing.

This doesn't stop fans and people outside the organization (especially the media) from using social media to promote it, and you know beat writers and sports news outlets are going to be covering this as long as Harbaugh is involved.

But what justification did the NCAA give to ban promoting this via Social Media? How is this considered to be bad for the game? Who is harmed by this....?

And as other's have mentioned..it will be promoted by the media and thousands of others on twitter...which will only expose the NCAA's stupidity.

Been following the MGo several times daily since 06 when I graduated UM, finally joined in 2011 to comment on something I don't remember, but didn't have enough points to post this. I rarely actually log in.
