NCAA Pulls Shorthanded Icing Proposal
Someone of authority might have finally noticed every coach voted against this. About damn time.

for bringing a bit of joy into my summer.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
That's all I have to say about that.
That rule would have been awful!
That rule would have made me *facepalm* every time I saw it in a game.
like myself can rest easier now knowing that there is still common sense in this world. All I can say is thank god.
Excellent, at least college hockey has not lost all intelligence...
At last!
Not UNACCEPTABLE.
Thank God. That was the most illogical rule change I have ever read about.
Not sure I even understand what "problem" they were trying to solve.
the NCAA actually listened to people that know before making changes?
I don't believe it.
But didn't the CCHA already vote it into existence for conference games? Or am I mixing things up?
was one of 3 conferences that had the coaches unanimously against it. So no. You're probably thinking the shoot-out, which was added, I think, 2 years ago in the CCHA? Despite not appearing in the rest of the country.
THANK GOD!
Who the hell comes up with these half-assed ideas in the first place. I'd accuse the owners (whom are generally the source of most boneheaded ideas in professional sports)....but for obvious reasons......
Unfortunately, they're going to try it in the exhibition games. Hopefully, that will show them what a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea it really is and then it will be gone for good.
