NCAA Hate/Friday Drinking/Banging Thread

Submitted by DealerCamel on

Mitch to the NBA, Lindsay to OSU, and other dangerous nouns as well.

In lieu of the usual posbang thread, what is everyone drinking?

Although, if you wish to lighten the mood with a posbang, I'm sure nobody would mind.  I don't really care if you choose to bang or drink, or maybe even both at this point in time.

Going to a work event, so I will have only one drink. I'm not sure if Mitch would have left for the NBA or not if this hadn't happened, but I wish him the best of luck and will cheer for him no matter where he lands. I just hope his back is fully healed. I think I read he was in full work-outs lately, so I hope that's a good sign!

Is this the standard punishment for a player testing positive for marijuana? A one year suspension? Why am I having trouble remembering another player getting hit with this?

I don't know if he would have stayed or not if he hadn't failed the drug test, but this is seriously the last straw for me and pot. Yes it is because of a Michigan athlete. The fact that pot is stil illegal is a joke and I don't care who fails a drug test, it will always be a joke.

I woke up, found out my classes are cancelled, found out mitch is gone :(. Then I went about this board and read some idiot speaking about weed rehab, because you know...about all the pot overdoses there are in the world.

Well, I just got out of a meeting only to sit down to the news about Mitch McGary, so if no one minds terribly, I may roll my eyes at the NCAA for what seems like the millionth time this month alone.

As I am at work right now, drinking is not an option, although it might be later, especially as the rain may put off today's effort to continue with the preparation work for actually planting this vegetable garden that my daughter and I have taken on.

I also might try to take my mind off things by sitting my daughter and son down to another game of actual "Monopoly" and not the Junior version this weekend. They both seem to struggle with money math and this is a perfect game for teaching the principles of it anyway. I will teach them the cutthroat trading and property strategies down the road.

Oh, and another eye roll in the direction of Mark Emmert for good measure.

Season to come now. I don't even care how good we are. I just want the catharsis of watching our large men knock the shit out of other large men while pretending the latter group are actually NCAA officials.

This has not been a good week.  Pizza with many beers is the plan for tonight.  Picked up some Goose Island Illinois Imperial IPA last weekend and tonight seems like a good time to crack some open.  However, this is not the end of the world.  They play the games for a reason and pleasant surprises do happen, so I'll stay positive and hope good karma works.  Lots of time left in 2014.
