NCAA Basketball Tournament - Nailing Down The Final Four (Open Thread)

Alright, folks, we've got half of the Final Four - we'll know the other half today. On CBS, we have:

2:20 PM - Michigan State vs. Louisville (line is MSU -2.5, I think)

5:05 PM - Duke vs. Gonzaga (line is Duke -2.0, last I saw)

My picks in the ESPN Bracket were Louisville and Duke, but I have MSU and Gonzaga in my yearly "chaos bracket" too.

Most of Izzo's trips to the final four have been watered down with easy brackets.  Every year he ends up playing a Northern Iowa, another mid-major, or some other double digit seed that pulled off an upset in the sweet sixteen.   I would one time like to see them take the road UM did in 2013 with a VCU, Kansas, Florida, Syracuse road.

You guys forget so soon, in 09 MSU had to get through Robert Morris (15), USC (10), Kansas (3), Louisville (overall 1), Uconn (1) en route to the title game.  That is pretty close to the michigan run vs. South Dakota State (13), VCU (5), KAnsas (1), Florida (3), Syracuse (4), some might call it harder due to dispensing with two 1 seeds on their way to the championship game.

The last time Michigan was in a title game before 13 was 1989 where they fought through Mighty Xavier, South Alabama, Virgina, and Seton Hall to get to the title.  And even then there was a lot of smoke about pay-for-play that couldn't be verified.

Just give credit where it is due, don't whine and complain about a hall of fame coach getting lucky breaks every year.  When it's a seemingly yearly occurance, the simplest solution is that he is just fielding great teams instead of being part of some vast NCAA conspiracy.

No Bowl game.
No NCAA Basketball Tourney.
No NCAA Hockey Tourney.
OSU wins the Football National Championship.
MSU is in the NCAA Final Four.
 
Damn, this Harbaugh guy must be something special, because the gods of Michigan sports are extracting a hell of a price.

Louisville choked badly. Pitino not having the balls to sit Rozier when he absolutely killed his own team throughout the second half. Not getting the ball inside at every opportunity when it was clear nobody could guard Harrell. Awful. All I need now is Duke to lose to cap the worst weekend in recent memory.

MSU has yet to play a team that can actually shoot.  Both the Zags and Duke will light those fools up.  And if that sleaze Izzo thinks he'll get calls against coach K he has another thing coming.

UM in 2013: 13, 5, 1, 3 = 22 to reach the Final Four

Semifinal game vs. # 4 Syracuse

Final game vs. #1 Louisville

 

MSU in  2015: 10, 2, 3, 4 = 19 to reach the Final Four

Semifinal vs. #1 Duke

Final (doubtful) vs. #1 Kentucky or #1 Wisconsin

The NCAA could have had a historically great final 4 had they put Gonzaga or Arizona in this bracket instead of Villanova and Virginia.
