NCAA Basketball Thread: Pre-Michigan Game (Wisconsin @ Indiana)

Submitted by B-Nut-GoBlue on

About the only thing to watch before we take on Penn State.  Wiscy travels to Indiana to seek out their unprecedented 13th straight "W" against the Hoosiers.  Kenpom's #2 (Wisconsin) vs #60.  Tip-off in twenty minutes (7:00EST, ESPN).

My guess, 74-67 Wisconsin...Welll, maybe I borrowed that score from KenPom.

The battle of the most annoying home court advantages in the Big Ten. Maybe Indiana's home court advantage and Tom Crean's whining will overcome WIsconsin's hacking and fouling.

Watch out, as this will surely be the most annoying game of basketball to watch this Big Ten season

74-67 seems generous to IU. One of my friends at work today said he'd be surprised if IU gets double-digits in the first half. He guessed the score will be 33-9 at half. Just an fyi, I work for IU athletics in Bloomington. Most of the guys here believe IU does not stand a chance.

TeamRankings is projecting Wisconsin as a 3.5 point favorite in this one, with a 73-69-ish projected score. The question, of course, becomes this - will another team fall into the event horizon of Wisconsin basketball and become forever trapped in a hole from which not even the best shooter can escape?

Started off 10-10 for the teams combined. Crazy start, but they are coming back down to earth. Wisconsin has the huge benefit of that 7' guy. He is a player.

You have to feel bad for the refs in this one. Who do they call fouls on? I expect to see a lot of befuddled looks on refs faces as they try to figure out if fouls are allowed this game.

Dekker was a 5* out of high school. An elite SF with a great shot and he's an NBA draft prospect. He will be in the top 3 for POY for the Big Ten. I would certainly consider him a star.

They also have a legit 7' who is good at protecting the rim on defense. If you have just those two things, you can do very good in college ball. You really only need some shooters around a star and a legit big man to have a good record. Wisconsin has a ton of very good shooters.

Wisconsin is absolutely great. A legit 7-footer, a very good point guard, a rising star on the wing, and shooters everywhere. This team is a serious title contender. I think they win the B1G with relative ease.
