NCAA 13- EA Trying to Anger Fans in Heisman Mode

Submitted by Ziff72 on

As I started watching this video and saw Herschel Walker in an Auburn Jersey I immediately thought no they are not going to do that to Desmond.  Yep they did it to Desmond.

If you have kids have them look away this is not easy to watch.   You do get a money shot at the end that will make you smile.  Don't worry Mrs. Kass not that kinda money shot.

Edit: Further research indicates this idea was born from Eddie George who likes to imagine himself on different teams than OSU.  Can't blame him but it figures a Buckeye would dream up something unwatchable,

Why would there be licensing issues?  They're produced by the same company, and the players control their own licensing - that's why Barry Bonds never appeared in any baseball video games.

My guess is they didn't want to have more than one player from a school.  If they were going to put in Woodson, they'd have to put in another OSU player, and so on.

It looks like Eddie George will be included with the game and Archie Griffin is offered in DLC. Woodson might have just not wanted to be in the game for some reason. I'm confused why EA is trying to pitch the idea of these stars by noting how they can play on any team, and the only different teams they put the players on are their respected teams biggest rivals. I'm definitely not going to put Eddie George on Michigan.

Didn't EA get sued by a former player for using his likeness in the game a couple years back? IIRC the motivation behind the case was that now that the player is no longer a sudent athlete he should receive compensation for use of him in the game.  What ever happened with that, did EA win or are Desmond et al getting paid for this?

EA got sued by some Quarterback who played for Nebraska if my memory serves correct.  They also got sued by one of the O'Bannons for their basketball game.  Not sure on the status of either lawsuit.

this suit is beyond retarded, when i played college ball, i was stoked to be in NCAA '01 and if i'd been good enough to go to the NFL, i wouldn't have asked for a dime to be in Madden. why can't people just enjoy little things like this: i.e. the honor of being good enough at something to have your likness included in a best selling franchise video game....

It showed RG3 and Carson Palmer, so it can't be a "currently playing" thing.  I'd agree with the offensive Heisman winners only.

You know what would make this year's version of NCAA really great? If EA would quit dicking around with stupid window-dressing like this and address the fact that the 'football' part of their game play nothing like actual college football.

That would piss off every SC fan I know of, for sure.

Also, seeing Desmond in Scarlet/Grey and ND Blue...Thanks EA, I havent clawed my eyes out since the fall of 2008. They were due.

Just improve the game you had...enough with adding fluff. Just make Campus Legend mode worth playing for once...enhance the dynasty mode and gameplay. Bring back create-a-play mode!
