NCAA 12 Teambuilder is up

Submitted by Fresh Meat on

I searched and did not see anything.  I know people have posted a few videos of people scrolling through player rankings in the game itself but teambuilder is now officially up and running making it much easier to see player ratings

Denard has a 90 on throw power, which is down from last year I believe..

Last year in his limited time I thought Shaw looked much like theplayer I had hoped he would be when he signed. He had a lot of great runs that showcased the fact that he doesn't just have speed, but power as well. I can think of more than a couple of occasions that he carried multiple wouldbe tacklers for serious yards after contact.

I think some people on this site (not you necessarily) seem to forget when they hypothesize about who could fill the "big back" role on this team that Shaw is essentially the same size Minor was, and everyone considered him a "big back". The difference with Shaw is that he is also a fast back.

He hadn't really shown the ability to break tackles on a regular basis prior to last year which may be why people forgot about his size, but I think last year he showed a lot in that department as well. I am really hopeful that he is going to emerge as the feature back this year and have a great senior season.

My longwinded point was basically that I can see why he would have a better break tackle rating that Hopkins, because from what I remember of him last year was really just running into piles and going down (though he would sometimes move the pile a bit). He didn't really show a great ability to break through tackles from what I remember.

I specficially was refering Shaw last year and he demonstrated great balance on many carries. Taking hits, staying on his feet and getting extra yards. I'm not sure where you get "does not have good balance when he runs with the ball in his hands" from.

Pending the infuriatingly fragile Fitzgerald Toussaint and the unknown aspects of Thomas Rawls, I feel like Michael Shaw is our best bet to have a true all-around threat at running back this year.

I'm optimistic he can have a breakout season.

Once on the main page of teambuilder click create a school.  It will ask you to log in.  If you have played an EA sports game online in the last 5 years your login will be your gamer ID and password most likely.  Otherwise, you will have to create a log in.  Once logged in, on the far right is rosters.  Click rosters and you can browse teams.

You can modify the rosters and then you have to download them onto your PS3 in the game.

EDIT:  Actually now that I think about it, you can only create teams.  I think you can use Michigan's roster as your base for your "created team" but then you'd have to try to perfectly make Michigan the rest of the way for color's and such and that would be annoying.  Probably better to wait until you get the game.

Other than the fact that they made Shaw slow again, it's hard to have any gripes about this.  I guess Kovacs being an impact player over Martin is kinda weird, but if you look at actual production and stats, it makes sense.

Some Heismanpundit website doesn't even have Denard in top ten of speed for 2011.

  1. Jeff Demps, RB, Florida
  2. Marquise Goodwin, WR, Texas
  3. Luther Ambrose, WR, Louisiana-Monroe
  4. T.J. Graham, WR, NC State
  5. Randall Carroll, WR, UCLA
  6. Miles Shuler-Foster, WR, Rutgers
  7. Sheroid Evans, CB, Texas
  8. Conroy Black, CB, Utah
  9. Dallas Burroughs, WR, Boise State
  10. Damiere Byrd, CB, South Carolina

He does make honorable mention along with Sam McGuffie which I was surprised to see.

Honestly, plenty of sprinters (who now play football) have had better track times than Denard over the last four years.  Just because he's our super fast guy doesn't mean he's the fastest super fast guy

Edit:  Also, our super fast guy can throw a football super fast.  Rad.

I'm not sure why Denard is outside the top ten, but in terms of pure speed, he definitely isn't the fastest in the NCAA. Denard ran 10.56 in the 100m in high school, which is blazing fast. However, Demps has run a sub 10 second 100m which is world class. Denard's PB in the 60m is 6.81, while Demps' is 6.53. That's a huge difference in the 60m.

The difference is Denard has ridiculous agility. His lateral quickness is insane. That's why his agility and acceleration are both 99 in the game. It's actually pretty accurate of how he really plays.

I would like to see those players run as fast as Denard does in pads with a ball in his hands while being chased from every direction by 11 people. I don't care about track speed. There aren't ten guys in college football who have better gamespeed than Denard.

I like that his injury stat is low.  Keeps it real.  Although those speed/accel/elusiveness/break tackle stats are gonna make him a hell of a cool player to use in the game.  I'm feeling a couple of 2000/2000 yard season coming as soon as I get my hands on this game.

They said in one of their videos that you can import HS team uniforms for RTG via Team Builder. It's actually pretty easy to do it if you have a good logo to work from. I'm working on creating the uniforms for my high school's entire schedule. If anyone would like to use mine, just search for RTG and Michigan for the state. So far, I have Saline, the 3 AA schools, Walled Lake Western, Monroe, Bedford, and Grosse Pointe South. Some of the uniforms are a bit off because of a lack of pictures or teambuilder doesn't support that design, but they are still better than the generic stuff you would normally get.
