NC LB Kris Frost and FL S Wayne Lyons to Announce Saturday
It appears that, despite all of the coaching controversy, Kris Frost is set to announce his decision on Saturday. IMO, losing him would be bigger than Zettel and Hart combined, but that's just me. All signs point to Michigan. Would be a huge get for RR, or whomever is the coach come Saturday.
EDIT: FL S Wayne Lyons will also be announcing during the bowl. If Harbaugh comes in (Stanford's in his top 5), we could be sitting pretty for him.

Hope we get him but hell we don't even know who our coach will be.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:55 PM ^
Whoever the coach is, he's going to need players. Getting Frost would be a huge lift right now.
January 2nd, 2011 at 10:06 PM ^
But I think we'll know by Saturday.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:41 PM ^
Is that at the AAA game?

Yessir
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:43 PM ^
yeah.
I still think we get him. He seems more interested in Michigan than in who the coach is.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:52 PM ^
I would agree, most of those committing at the AA games know where they're going a long time before they announce. Thats assuming he was planning to announce at the game before today though, is that true?

Irish, what do you think about ND's chances with Lyons?
EDIT: Never mind, I now see your comment below
January 2nd, 2011 at 7:00 PM ^
ND stopped recruiting him 2ish months ago
January 2nd, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
I know he'd been planning on announcing at the game for at least a few months.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:42 PM ^
beat me to the punch
hopefully some good news in the midst of this bad news. But it could be good news amidst good news by the time his commit comes, depending on what DB announces.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:43 PM ^
Can we reasonably expect a kid to commit to us in the midst of all this uncertainty?
It seems to me that if a guy is committing right now, he's not likely to commit to Michigan.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:43 PM ^
yes you can.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
Desmond Morgan, Matt Goudis, Blake Countess....
Plus, Frost has had this date set as his announcement day for a long time.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
I truly believe Frost is in love with Michigan. I didn't get that vibe from Dee or from Zettel, but I've definitely gotten it from Frost.

It will be a cold bitter winter.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:46 PM ^
dare I say it will be Frost-y.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:48 PM ^
it will be an icy road to success, for sure.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:56 PM ^
down a slippery slope.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:57 PM ^
I agree. Can we put this thread on ice?
January 2nd, 2011 at 7:02 PM ^
snow way that is going to happen.

Although Frost seems to have been in our camp all along, it doesn't appear that Habaugh was recruiting him at Stanford. We'll see if that has anything to do with his ultimate decision.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:54 PM ^
That will have any bearing. Frost is an early enrollee so we could know sooner than Saturday.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:54 PM ^
Hopefully, we will see if it plays into his ultimate decision.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
If there is one thing we learned last year from Demar Dorsey national announcements are fun for the kids at the game, but binding by no means. Even if he does or doesn't choose M I will be watching his recruitment until his papers are signed.

It occurred to me after I posted it (doh!) that the AAA game has been in the works for a long time now. But it could turn out that way, him being the final piece in the puzzle.

Kris Frost will be announced as the next head coach of the University of Michigan football team.

A lot of them like to announce at the all star games. It's a fun environment and many ball caps are sold on that day I am pretty sure.

DGDestroys-I think he was always planning on announcing at the Army game. So, nothing has changed, right? It's not like he, all of a sudden changed his mind and is announcing? I think Lyons is announcing also
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:49 PM ^
Like I mentioned a couple of posts above, this has been in the works for a while, I just forgot (doh!). Rivals just posted an article, and I guess it's interesting (and a reminder) that he's going on with his commitment, even with all the uncertainty.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:52 PM ^
No worries, I thought you might have some other info.
January 2nd, 2011 at 7:59 PM ^
I get the feeling that we'll have some certainty by the time Saturday rolls around.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:49 PM ^
If we get both of these studs I will be so happy.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:53 PM ^
Ugh, can we not call high school students 'studs'? This is kinda creepy.

I have a good vibe we land both these kids and bring in the RB from Indiana that is committed to Stanford after JH is hired. Let the good times roll, boys.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:52 PM ^
Eh, my gut is telling me Lyons to ND and Frost to Auburn, but we'll see. Should be interesting AAA game plus big recruiting weekend on campus.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:53 PM ^
He's not coming to ND
January 2nd, 2011 at 7:15 PM ^
Are you guys going to hang onto Tuitt? Or will GT take him away?
January 2nd, 2011 at 7:16 PM ^
none of the GT guys thing they have a chance, its pretty unlikely he visits them at all
January 2nd, 2011 at 7:25 PM ^
Love your optimism
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:54 PM ^
I've been reporting to you for awhile that both will make their commitments at the Army game, Kris hasn't ever swayed from that. Frost has been consistent on what he was looking at, and how everything was going to play out. He did tell me where he'll be choosing, and how it happened. Obviously can't tell you yet, but I'll let you in on everything after he announces.
January 2nd, 2011 at 6:56 PM ^
Sorry Tom, just saw the article on Rivals and was thinking this was something new, I forgot it's the exact same thing you've been telling us forever.
January 2nd, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
I didn't mean it like that, I just meant he's been planning this for awhile, and his feelings haven't changed on it.
