National Championship Game Open Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

Well, it'll probably be a short thread, since everyone has already said they're not watching tonight. But for those that are, it's the end of college football on the field for awhile. Gameday on. Pregame in about half an hour.  It'll keep us busy till the Two and a Half Men Open thread starts later tonight.

Our guys were more excited about winning the Sugar Bowl than these guys are about winning the NC... I hate the SEC. Denard just better work on getting that ball out fast.

We hire the Ohio Bobcat to chase after the Bama elephant next September and punch him in the trunk? Bobcat is a little like a wolverine, no?

this game seems different. this game doesn't feel like a true champion has been crowned. it feels like an sec champ has been crowned. this game is bogus. i understand alabama is good, very very good. but they didn't win the conference let along thier own division or even verse this team they just played, earlier this season. wtf has happened to college football. this is bogus.

LOL Saban looked pissed when he was holding up the trophy.  What's that guy's deal, is he seriously a robot?

I imagine the interview going something like:

"Coach, you've just reached the pinnacle of your profession.  How do you feel?"

"Pissed off."

That was even more soul-numbingly boring than I'd been promised, since it wasn't even close. I've never seen a more gutless performance from a QB than what Jordan 'Keep My Jersey Clean on the Option' Jefferson put out there. He must be one of the least likeable football players I've seen in a while - makes the Peyton Manning whiny face look like the Mona Lisa. And really - this game made me even more gkad we dodged the Les Miles bullet. To me, we got a better gameday coach, who's a nicer person, and who more consistently hires good coordinators - even without the huge bank LSU can offer to entice top talent. That offensive gameplan - holy shit. Conservative to the point of fearfulness at first, then no adjustments whatsoever all game long.

Great, great defenses, don't get me wrong. But Bama's D was hardly even challenged. Overall, a shitfest of the highest order.
