Is the a line on the color combo oregon will go with?
well that's just, like, your opinion, man
Is the a line on the color combo oregon will go with?
Unless they make changes, I think they've already announced their uniforms for tonight.
The socks.. NOOOOO!
It looks like a foot fungus that just never stopped..
I can deal with the socks.....I'm not big on white on white unis
and it's spreading.
Makes Auburn's uniforms look pretty dated.
I will add that this is the only Oregon uniform this year that didn't make me vomit in my mouth...
its all white with neon green piping+socks
Boy I see this game and see what we could have been in a couple of years except for the stubborness and arrogance of some former players imsisting their will on the present affairs of the program. Hopefully the next coach brings a highpowered type of spread.
As long as he brings it without ignoring the other, equally important parts of the game. I'm all for it. From all signs, we would not have been there in a couple years. We would have had the offense but not the D or special teams, since those things just werent a priority to the "genius". BTW, heard any other top flight programs mentioning him yet as potential coach?
Go Ducks! I'm sick of the SEC.
Ok. Just kidding. Go Ducks!
I'm down with the Duck pick too. Even know there losing right now, I hope they pull it out. Just don't wanna see another SEC team win it, for the 5th straight. Uuugghh. Come on Ducks pull it out.
im sad for one reason - this is the last college football game for ~8.5 months.
make it last folks, cuz this is the last call on the season.
We can make it the pregame thread.
I hope you are wrong. I would like to see Oregon stick it to Auburn and the SEC.
I would like to encourage everyone to who can to pull up the ESPN3 stream, even if you are going to be watching it on a different device. I'm sure that ESPN is monitoring how many people tune in over http and the more that do the more incentive they have to keep serving that audience.
Basically the more people watching the stream means more eyes on their content, more eyes on their ads and the ability to charge more for commercials and thus more incentive to stream more and more.
Crex dropping teh knowledge per usual.
But seriously. Do this. Use a computer or a phone (ESPN mobile baby). Force advertisers to support streaming media!
I work for an advertising agency that buys ESPN3 media, you'll be surprised how expensive it already is (as compared to other online media). Still more efficient than TV though.
Good idea! I was planning on heading to friends' house to watch the game. Maybe I'll leave the game streaming on my computer at home. Once I cancel my cable because football is over, I'll be living and dying by online streaming.
I think streaming media is the wave of the future. Netflix streaming content is the best thing ever.
Auburn is the more tested team, but Oregon is dynamite in cleats.
Fairley will need oxygen by the end of the 1st quarter.
DA OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...GO DUCKS GO.....DUCKS TRUCK THE TIGERS OVER...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oregon is too fresh with their uniforms (minus the socks) and their quack attack offense. I hope they can pull it out. I am soooo sick of the SEC. If Oregon can contain AU'S d-line they have a chance. Easier said than done though.
Nick Saban adds a lot to the commentary, but he's like Ricky Bobby- "I don't know what to do with my hands". He's just flailing them about while he's talking. STOP.
What does this game have to do our new coach? I don't get why it is happening if it does not have anything to do with Michigan's new coach. They should just postpone it until we get this thing figured out.
We figure while watching the game they'll announce/say/speculate about our new coach.
Oh, Ducks vs SECleaze. Man I hope Oregon pulls this out tonight.
Pac10 beats SEC, B1G steals LSU coach, Saban and Creyer have to be physically removed from Corso's member.
On Sportscenter... Golic took Oregon,..Greenberg Auburn... I'll go with Golic on this one fore 2 reasons,.... Greenbergs horrible stone lead pipe lock pick em records & just cause he's not the smartest of the two...
GO DUCKS GO !!!
5M/yr for 5 years for LM.
Edit: sorry mods, meant to put this on the other thread.
Do you think we will be the big news instead of the game?
Crediting you for the find.
Just got back home.
Go Ducks!!! Cam seems as "dirty" as Pryor right about now...
Yeah, just read the above gig of $5 mill/year... if & WHEN announced then I will agree,..till otherwise, it's all speculation....
I urge caution, at least until Fox-2 reports it.
As I post a comment on ths blog , my mgoblog points keep going down... any reason for that ?, or how does the point allocation work on the blog ?...thanks for any help...
Thanks.... trying to lay of the keyboard !
Live in Oregon; support Ducks as my second team. A caller on The Fan here in Portland just predicted a Duck Win, 60-29. In the history of sports gambling, has anyone ever predicted this score? I did not think so.
Head says the one-armed bandits win. Whereas, I'm pretty sure the O's O will put up points, it's hard for me to figure out a way Oregon can stop Auburn, other than a bunch of cheapo turnovers. It could happen, but I wouldn't bank on it (especially with the moneyline less than tasty).
I'm really hoping the Ducks roll 'em tonight.
One - because I hate the EES EEE SEEE and
Two - I really need some sleep and a midnight nailbiter won't help.
I want to see Oregon get blasted out of the stadium for those uniforms, or Auburn get blasted out of the stadium because they're slimeballs.
Preferably the latter, but I'll take what I can get.
Looking at the bright side by looking at the darker side. Let your hate make you stronger. As for me, cheating > neon. But hey, to each his own.
I didn't move to Bama to deal with the Tide and Tigers each winning NC's as soon I get here. If Auburn wins I'm coming home for obvious reasons.
I can't see either team winning?
and do the opposite of what Auburn and Oregon have been doing this year.
Come on. Aaron Shea is shaking his head already. "Spread offense" and "national championship game" in the same sentence?
That's crazy talk.
It's looking like a scoreless tie is the most likely outcome. How many overtimes do they play before they just give up.
It will be interesting to see who can make stops on defense more
defense you speak of?
...ugh.....i hate watching a man slowly lose his mind on national television week after week...year after year...
he just said oregon was playing arizona...and was having trouble reading the teleprompter...so sad
Cam Newton makes Pryor look like someone dumped a gallon of OxyClean on him.
And think," Man, that's what our team will look like next year!" .... Now I sit here and wonder what we'll look like.....
I want a pair of those socks so I can see myself on Google Earth.
I think the black leggings on some of the Ducks players ruin the look. It's not too bad on the guys without them though.
I would hate to see a vacated championship later...not to mention, just hating the SEC in general.
I don't know, I kind of like things that Michigan isn't involved in to be discredited. Years of gripping from Oregon fans could be very funny.
Les Miles named HC of Michigan at halftime of the NC Game.
I actually think they'll wait until tomorrow because the NCAA probably doesn't want anything to draw attention away from the championship game.
I love Oregon's complete acceptance of the "our cheerleaders are attractive; we need to highlight that" and their uniform decisions. Fantastic.
I believe desmond is wearing a purple and gold tie (lsu colors on a michigan man?)... could be telling....
Who is playing?
Isn't it great?!?
to have locked up and broken down. Could it be run by the same servers as MGo?
Is this the game with the really good commercials at halftime?
Lets go Ducks! Also I wonder how much espn had to spend to get both Saban and Meyers on the pregame.
Edit: Cam in a cheater and a thief, lets hope the universe rectifies these transgressions tonight
Have you guys noticed he waers his Championship ring on hid wedding ring finger....instead of his wedding ring? I ffind that strange for a "family man".
I think his wedding ring is on Tebow's ring finger
ooo good call, I didn't think of that
Saban sucks on TV. Horrible choice. Plus the fact that they're both SEC coaches is lame as hell.
He looks like a creepy undertaker
Does this mean he is our new coach?
I think there was an Auburn fan in blackface there.
Was that dude in black face? Well, it is AZ afterall.
Um..releasing a bald eagle to do a flyover is badass in my book.
When they released the Eagle for the Star Spangled Banner, did anyone else fear for the safety of the Oregon Duck?
Oh, and I hope the Ducks win.
Kelly walking through the tunnel slaps five's with Craig James..."You get to the other side..."
Cam Newton is extremely annoying to watch.
Here's to him getting completely destroyed in this game.
I've been trying to think; I don't think there's been a Heisman winner I haven't hated since Woodson. Cam takes the cake though...
You are looking live....at MgoBlog...
That is complete blasphemy, that Cam's smile can "light up a stadium." Everyone knows that only applies to our one and only (and future he16man) DENAAAAARD
Did you hear Musburger call them costumes?
Bo Jackson is still my hero.
Leave it to Corso to be the honorary coin flipper in a stadium named after a school that doesn't exist.
Erin asks dumb questions.
Anyone else think Cam Newton looks like a ninja turtle?
Uh-oh, looks like Auburn is "all-in" according to a fan in the stands...
I was out of the room for a sec. Who won the toss?
Oregon won and elected to receive (prop bet?)
I forgot what team, but they had slipping issues with the new Nike cleats. They were not very smart and didn't really practice in them and didn't bring backups with them to the bowl game.
Apparently didn't hurt them too much, though.
I'm not a doctor, and I don't play one on mgoblog, but he's down an awful long time for that to be a sprained ankle.
Auburn's already faking injuries for free timeouts.
How hard would it be for you to cheer for Cam Newton if he was on your team?
For me it would be pretty hard.
I'm sure we'd be okay with him, but I would never feel good about rooting for him. Just too dirty.
That was a very strange late pitch.
are god awful. I actually don't mind the rest of the uniform, but those socks are just hideous.
the kids love em.
It's like a glow stick techno rave everytime an Oregon player runs.
For their own good.
I have no idea what Oregon was trying to do with that first drive. Man, I hate the SEC.
That was horrible!! talk about being scared and nervous.....probably the worst pitch I have ever seen.....Thomas could lose this for Oregon. Wow!!
Someone should tell the lead official that the last syllable in Oregon is pronounced like "gun," not "gon." Oregon residents can't stand that pronunciation.
I really hope Oregon's D can step up to match Auburn's offense.
Players are slipping everywhere. How does that happen in a game of this magnitude with an indoor field?
It might have to do with the cleats. They are supposed to be amazing cleats, but another team was having issue with the new Nike cleats. They are supposed to have the best traction ever.
Headhunters at the game?
Auburn has Oregon right where they want them - 3rd and 17. Oh wait, that's UM.
I keep thinking there is a flag on the play with those socks everywhere.
Oregon's D. They are a pretty good unit. Held opponents to about 3 yards per carry and had about 2 times as many ints as passing tds allowed. Their stats are pretty impressive.
That Auburn cheerleader is cute.
Bad offense so far...
Neither team looks good.
But at least entertaining action for fans of neither??
2-1 bad guys. Dammit.
What is with these weird end-arounds on every play. They aren't working at all. And 3 turnovers in the first 10 minutes.
Ducks offense looks so much smoother than RRs. And its more than just personnel, RRs system looked so unnatural and jerky during his tenure here (and at WVU - although it looked a lot better there).
The little guys are ok if they're really fast. We had Denard, but they have a field of Denard lites out there. Denard may be Warp 10, but they have a bunch of Warp 7's, and the rest of our guys are sublight.
Almost the end of the 1st and no points on the board... who'da thunk?
This is a defensive battle.
Depressing game to watch so far. Newton looks lost, Thomas can't throw at all. I know this what happens when you don't play for 5 months*, but man this is hard to watch.
*Yes, slight overstatement.
A couple of missed dunks, sloppy boards, a ton of double dribbles...
Anyone else think that last Cam Newton sack looked like a fumble?
Was it just me, or did it look like Newton fumbled that ball on the sack? Or is it the good ole tuck rule at its finest?
Anyone think a playoff would deliver better played title games? I can't help thinking these teams haven't dealt with the layoff well.
Is it the D Coordinators have done a great job or has the 37 days off made the offenses rusty and out of sync?
It was underrated all year. Oregon's O has been tearing up Auburn; just a couple of really bad throws by the QB.
Fun to watch defensive players make plays. I forgot what that looked like.
Read that perfectly.
Mine keeps saying "This event will resume shortly." But it's far from shortly anymore.
My stream is also down. Doesn't seem like it's on my end.
Watching this Oregon team is like watching old footage of Bob Chappuis and the Mad Magicians.
In this game, at that field position. 2 plays to get the first, and/or TD.
You do that.
This is the kind of offense that I love. Quick, short hitting passes out to the edge. Rod and Magee ran it occasionally, especially near the end of games and I was starry-eyed for it. Wish we had ran it more often.
Looks like Oregon is starting to make some nice offensive adjustments.
Was that legal?
Why does the duck have paws?
Kinda like chicken fingers.
Oregon hybrid pawed duck.
Does Oregon have to pay royalties to Disney for the use of Donald Duck?
the whole timing of this feels way to slick. wish DB would focus more on getting the best coach then keeping the Michigan brand in the spot light.
I think right now, Miles makes the most sense. He'll keep the old-guard happy and doesn't seem set to a specific offense, which will help to maintain what RR started. Hoke would be another 2-3 years of "getting his guys" into the system.
Just missed 2 min of the game.
Looked like a legit int to me, but of course these are B1G officials, so they'll probably call a PI.
Is every game not involving a Big Ten team ref'd by Big Ten refs this year?
Has way too much of a cushion.
I have a bad feeling that Auburn is going to win this game despite Oregon probably running them off the field for long swaths of the game. Oregon really should have 10-14 points.
I swear that was Ray Vinopal that got shook for that TD.
Herp derp Oregon. Come on guys, stop trying to look like Michigan.
Oregon is trying to be WAY too tricky here. That was a horrible call.
So, Chip Kelly doesn't give a fuck.
You know, this could be a game if Oregon would stop outsmarting themselves when they have the ball.
needs to quit it with the trick plays.
Anyone else think their unis look derivative of WVU's coal-miner inspired look? With a homage to '80's era neon leg warmers.
Now that was a nice pass. Let's see if Oregon can pop it in now.
That's what she said.
And Thomas finally throws a pass that isn't caught by either team.
I agree with Herbie. They need to quick playing cute and do what they're good at.
Edit: Maybe I should have finished fast forwarding before commenting.
Thomas picked one hell of a night to have his worst game of the year.
So Auburn got caught trying to sub out a d-lineman..
If you are so tired you can't run off the field, and you play in the SEC (so leave morals out of this equation) .. why not just roll over with a 'cramp'.. you have to sit out the next play, but you would have anyways... Plus all your exhausted teammates get a breather?
Seems obvious enough, actually surprised its not standard practice against hurry up teams.
Thomas looks horrible...Or maybe I'm just used to Denard QBing.
That was awesome.
No way. So, Chip Kelly doesn't give a fuck. I'll say it again.
With the Ducks getting 3....
Chip Kelly has them.
I want a coach who isn't afraid to try stuff like that.
Until it doesn't work.
Really, the SEC speed shit? Ugh. Drink.
Looked like a knee was down on the 2pt conv. Might've gotten away with one.
Just like that... Oregon FTW.
Did his dad's church not get the down payment on a new wing?
Am I the only one who thinks SEC speed is bullshit. The SEC is the strongest conference, but it's because they can find really big lineman that can move and sign half-again as many of them as any other conference's teams can.
I heard the SEC was 4-4 in bowl games so far. A win by Oregon would put a big smile on my face. I hate that SEC crap.
Kentucky lost on Saturday.
Does Oregon go for 2 on the first score of every game?
Lost 17-24 to go 7-1 on the season.
They lost on the road, 24-17.
the stage of the game where the offenses take over and we don't see a stop for the rest of the game?
Gus Malzahn runs that team. Chizik doesn't even call timeouts.
It doesn't look like he does anything.
Yeah, I laughed when they said Chizik won the Coach of the Year award - guy seems like he is just along for the ride.
I really don't like Cam Newton - just so annoying to see a guy who clearly cheated be given a free pass while UM was dragged through the mud for basically nothing.
Might as well go for it.
Nice pass SCAM!!
Newton arm punt?
Suck it Auburn. Go Ducks!
Newton really does remind me of Tebow - a big athlete who probably won't make it in the pros because he has wonky mechanics and won't be able to just push guys around at the next level.
Hey bronx, what does your opinion of Newton say about Pryor? I sorta agree with you but I think Newton is 10x the player Pryor is.
But wide open, PLOP! Good timing!
Now a 99 yard run in one play.
Wow, I've completely forgotten that teams could be stopped. Strange
That was the most predictable playcall I've ever seen, and exactly the result I expected. Just through it - you are not going to push Auburn back on the 1 yard line.
Why stretch? One weakness, no power run game for Oregon without Blount. BTW, I took the under, so far so good.
Nothing but space.
I'm not convinced TCU isn't better than one, or both, of these teams.
Not impressed with Barner's returns. Leaves alot of yardage on the field dancing around like Shaw did.
Run into traffic rather than away from it.
Always throwing cheapshots... toss that guy out.
I don't understand something about the NCAA and Cam Newton. Fine, his father managed to keep Cam completely in the dark about shopping his around. Even if that were true, why wasn't Auburn punished for paying Cam's father?
Maybe I'm missing whether that's been established or not but it's a reasonable inference that if other teams were offering to pay, the team he ended up gave some consideration too.
The problem is that you can't really "infer" NCAA violations like that - too high a burden of proof to rely on conjecture. I fully expect there to be an expose after the year that shows Auburn knew and probably even paid him, but without that level of proof the NCAA couldn't/wouldn't be able to impose major sanctions.
Newton should be ineligable because of his dad's actions. The NCAA really F'ed that whole thing up.
As far as I know, there was never a payment made by any school. The violation was the demand and Cam got off because the demand was not made of Auburn.
If I had to assume, I bet the demand was made of Southern Miss (?) because Cam wouldn't have attended there otherwise. In other words, Auburn was in the running without having to pay.
Google Auburn recruiting slot machines. Yeah. Wow. It's just a matter of time.
both of these teams. Too bad we won't get a chance to find out if they are better.
Wasn't the Over/Under something like 73? Got a long way to go to even get close. That being said, both teams will probably blow up in the secondf half
Could there be a record for comments on one thread? Maybe.
We'd be hard pressed to match the Orange Bowl last week no more the 1200 posts for the NCAA Hockey Tourney game.
Why punt there? There were 39 seconds left and they were at the Auburn 40. Auburn had no timeouts left, so even if UO had turned it over on downs, they still would have been hard-pressed to score.
that was very Lloyd-like.
They can move the ball, that's for sure.
Could there be a bigger mismatch of on-air personalities in the same booth? Herbstreit must be pissed that he has to carry Musburger every week.
Oh boy, Nick Saban and Urban Meyer at halftime? I might just throw up with excitement.
These guys don't like each other, even a little bit.
For Chizik to do.
His job is to cheat.
I hate this so much of this game has come down to poor play from Thomas. However the rest of it seems to be Auburn out RPS-ing Chip Kelly.
I might just change the channel for 15 minutes.
My neighbor played for the Ducks on the team that beat Michigan in the Big House. He's now with the Carolina Panthers and, since they suck, he was able to make it to Arizona to be on the sidelines for this game. I was messing with him earlier in the year about him beating Michigan - he said it was one of the highlights of his college career.
they've been slpping all over the place.
could there be a more obnoxious and soulless combo than meyer and saban? blech. I never thought i'd rather listen to corso.
What if they threw in Holtz? I know, it hurts one's head.
ESPN keyboard typing.
Urban and Nick are the two most joyless-looking humans I've ever seen.
Guess their wives met Les.
The turf sucks tonight.
I prefer the half-time million dollar kicks. That was some awkward TV.
I want a very long/interesting game. If not Oregon better kick Auburn's ass and show the sec they're not on top anymore.
I think I like Newton almost as little as I like Pryor. What say ye? Newton or Pryor for least liked?
I like Newton just a little more than Pryor and that's not sayin much
Probably becaue Newton is actually good and Pryor is all hype
I would have to go with Pryor, but both are extremely hard to like.
Clearly I dislike them both quite a lot, however Pryor is far more entertaining with his constant foot-in-mouth interviews and tweets. As happy as I'll be when he ugh "graduates" and Michigan does not have to face him on the field, I will miss the feeling of moral superiority every time I see him in a tOSU uniform.
I love all these different sets that Auburn is using. I wish we could have mixed up our formations more the last couple years
Before this becomes another SEC rout.
Every time Auburn looks at the sideline it's a big play. Allioti getting worked by Malzahn.
Thats a win for Oregon's D
Oregon is being beat on both the O and D lines tonight. They better make some adjustments.
Man, bunch of thugs screwing around like that after the play.
Fairley is incredibly dirty. I'd be surprised if he survives in the NFL playing like that; someone will take him out for crap like that.
One can only hope. I don't even want him to get drafted and get the signing bonus.
Gee, Nick Fairley personal foul? What a shock. That dude doesn't deserve a particularly long career in the NFL.
The best part is that Auburn's coach defended him the other day saying he's not a dirty player. Then he does that helmet push thing on national television. I love seeing someone proven wrong.
I feel like Auburn's entire season has been "No, no, no we didn't. You can't prove that. Stop saying that."
Seriously, what an obviously-going-to-be-vacated-season.
proves, that he is a piece of garbage. What a dirty player. Oregon needs to get it going, I just can't stand Auburn at this point.
Small and fast is fine, until you meet big and fast.
Oregon's offense to me is the epitome of the spread offense that I have seen. I think that this is an offense that Rich Rodriguez would have liked to end up with at Michigan. This prolific rushing attack only gained 81 yards the whole game! Auburn was just too big and strong up front on the defensive side of the ball (really both sides). It pains me to say it but I just don't believe that a team with the small and quick players and all the gimmicky stuff on offense can win a BCS championship.
Oregon is killing themselves with very stupid penalties.
Unless Oregon finds a way to stop Auburn on this next drive, this game may be over. What kills me is that these SEC schools pay players, over-recruit, etc. and they are rewarded with MNCs. I know UM will soon employ one of these SEC coaches, but man it is hard to enjoy college football when you see stuff like this go unpunished.
/steps off soapbox.
But you are right on the money. It is exactly this dirtball SEC crap that makes me not want Miles here. I don't want to see UofM get a MNC so bad as to destroy their morals to win it.
I HATE to say it but right now Auburn is beating the crap out of the Ducks. Oregon needs an INT or fumble and they need it now,
Not been wide open tonight?
He looked like Roundtree on the play down inside the 5
Musberger calling the TD before the score reminds me of this:
Gotta get a TD here. C'mon Kelly and Thomas.
If Oregon is going to win this game, it's going to be in spite of the play calls not because of them.
Is this a fundamental flaw with these offenses? It seems like they can never control the line of scrimmage in short-yardage situations.
I gotta question that playcall right there. Not a high percentage option against that D-line, Kelly.
Chip Kelly's play calling down there SUCKED!!!!!!!!!
to start passing the ball a little more. Auburn's rush defense has been good all year, their pass defense has been pretty poor though.
Would get off Fairley's nuts.
to start passing the ball a little more. Auburn's rush defense has been good all year, their pass defense has been pretty poor though.
SInce Zoltan did, well, anything. Too bad didn't lead to a TD.
Ah, the one weakness of the spread offense. Smaller area in redzone and defense can cheat up and overload the line. Hmm if Oregon only had a big fullback or big, powerful RB instead of speedy midgets in James and Barner.... That might have just broken Oregon's spirit...
Exactly...Many people view spread offenses sole purpose to spread the field horizantally. Just as importantly, spread offenses need to spread the field vertically. When the defensive back field gets mashed toward the LOS in the red zone, the typical speed of spread offenses becomes quite limited. I rarely feel confident of a spread offense's ability to score in the red zone.
Great playcalling down in the redzone. Zilch, zero, zip and nada. Kick the fieldgoal and take the 3 pts.
by calling that play a TD prematurely. douche
This game is not as close as the score shows. Auburn is out playing Oregon in all aspects of this game.
Auburn is showing some speed and toughness on the Line. Stopping Oregon inside the 5 on 4 straight plays was impressive. Their defense is rolling right now.
To come play in the easier B10, PR if he's making a mistake because he'll never be able to recruit a team that can beat these squads in bowl games up here.
Michigan owns the SEC.
Since the SEC started owning title games. And the 4th best team just wasted us by 38 points. Times have changed from the 90's.
La la la la la. La la la la la la. La la la la.
We beat Heisman Trophy Winner Tebow 1 year after the SEC started owning title games. It just feels like a lifetime ago.
OSU just dominated an SEC team that was 11-1. We'll do the same, eventually. If we thought getting owned by a SEC team was a normal state of affairs, RR would still be here.
You mean the team that was Mallett Noooo from beating them? And record aside, realistically that was probably the best Big Ten team vs. The 3rd best (maybe 4th...I bet LSU would win more games in a 7 game series vs. them) team in the SEC. OSU hasn't done that well against the top of the SEC.
The Florida team that Michigan beat in 2008 was very close to knocking off Eventual-National Champion LSU; they only needed 1 stop in about 3 4th down conversions, and that would have been enough to win the SEC East and play for a bid to the National Championship. Needless to say, the Florida team that Michigan beat in the Citrus Bowl was nearly good enough to play in the National Championship, where it would have certainly been able to beat Ohio State.
So while it seems like the SEC's best is better than the Big Ten's best, it really isn't as far away as it appears (especially if the NCAA voids all of Cameron Newton's accomplishments, in which case the SEC's best lost to the Big Ten's #2 team).
