Nate Johnson back on board?

Submitted by gopoohgo on

Wiltfong, Bart Simmons and Tom Loy all switch back to Michigan.

Obviously a scholarship spot opened up with Hamilton decomitting.

Goodbye Stewart? Or do we still take him?

Got it.

So I guess there are degrees of "academics" - some guys are pushed outright out of the class and then Hawkins must be "close" as he was not given that treatment.

Are we surprised Dytarious Johnson has not decommitted with 4 days to go?  Brian/Ace basically have had it as a done deal in their end of recaps for other commits but he has not formally announced anything and we are days away from NSD.

I think decommitting is kind of a formality. AFAIK, he has not taken any official visits, including to Michigan. He's in a similar situation to Sir Patrick Scott at this point. Maybe a greyshirt or blueshirt opportunity is possible if he gets his situation in order.

A blueshirt is basically like a greyshirt, except a) they can't be recruited and b) they can participate in team activities during the fall. Basically, it's a guy who will pay to play his first year with the guarantee that he'll be on scholarship after that.

it all depends on the school, the player, etc but they almost always sign letters and then work it out.

which is why some teams have guys that sign LOIs but then enroll in JC, prep school, etc and end up on campus or someone elses campus several years after signing).   and some kids even take summer classes in order to graduate with all necessary credits, prerequisites, etc and then enroll for fall classes along with everyone else.

typically case by case

You know what? No, you are no longer welcome, Nate Johnson. Sorry. You screwed around wtih us too long, and our emotions can't take any more. So go to ND. I hope you like playing for a human blueberry monster with high cholesterol...
