MSU's LB Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. He's Jim Tressel's nephew.

FWIW, Jim is an offensive guy. Also, Narduzzi is a LB guy, which is why I think the natural progression would be Mike Tressel to take over as DC while Narduzzi can mentor someone else at Pitt.

Victors for Harbaugh

Honestly, I don't want to see him leave. If MSU doesn't have Narduzzi, it won't even be fair next year with Harbaugh.

Ohio State's strength is Offense.  And they lose their OC.

Michigan State's strength is Defense.  And they lose their DC.

Meanwhile we may gain Jim Harbaugh, a coach totally out of our league except that he played here 30 years ago.

Not a bad December.

Nothing has even happened yet this time and people are claiming that we are saved and back to the top.

I know the Hoke comment was mostly treated as a joke initially but people really did start believing it after he beat OSU his first year. Everyone was claiming that Hoke's recruiting would ultimately destroy Dantonio and that OSU was just a tire fire (that was before the Urban hire but then even after the Urban hire people laughed and made comments like "wow good job hiring a coach Michigan has never lost to"). Then some random paper made rankings of Big 10 coaches and Hoke was like 4th behind Urban, Dantonio, and Bielema, and some here had the audacity to claim that Hoke would eventually beat them all...

Sorry I have to do this but seriously a reality check is in order. Last I checked Harbaugh is not our coach and Michigan is 2-6 against Dantonio and 0-3 against Meyer (1-3 if you count the Florida game...)

What's your point? If we get Harbaugh, he'll vault to the top above Dantonio and Urban given the fact that he went to a Super Bowl with 4 NFC titles vs. winning a couple of big ten titles and 2 national titles. That resume is a hell of a lot better than anytihng Hoke had.  It doesn't matter that we went 2-6 or 1-3 against them under RR or BH.

Wait a minute...are you saying that Brady Hoke's coaching tenure at Michigan wasn't a great one?!?! And here I thought we were in the midst of a coaching search because Hoke was taken up to Football Heaven on a reinforced cloud to sit at the right hand of Vince Lombardi, not because our football team has been steadily declining for the last three years.

Thanks!

I still maintain that the Pitt job is probably a pretty good fit for Narduzzi, particularly because he's recruited eastern Ohio / western Pennsylvania for a long time, as I recall, and is pretty familiar with the talent pool that Pitt tends to draw on somewhat - not to mention some of MSU's talent come from the same area. I get that some people have wanted the opportunity to stymie a Narduzzi defense, but I am not averse to losing a talent here and there to coaching positions in other conference as it can only help us.

Agree this seems like a good fit and first-stop for Narduzzi in the HC role.

There's a part of me that wishes the B1G had chosen Pitt/WVU rather than MD/Rutgers to expand.  It would have been a little more geographically compact, it would have preserved the "Backyard Brawl," and it might have meant a renewal of Pitt/PSU.

But alas ...

I stated yesterday as well, but I think the timing is right for Narduzzi to make the jump to a HC position if that's what he wants. I think MSU can continue to be good, 8-10ish wins annually, but I think 2013 was an exception and not the norm for them. His stock is high right now.

MSU is still going to be tough without Narduzzi. As good? Probably not, but still tough. You can bet they will still come into the Michigan game with their A-game. Most of that team's strength undoubtedly comes from Dantonio's seething hatred of all things Michigan and constant feelings of being disrespected by anyone not wearing green and white.

I know some people want to beat Narduzzi, but let's just focus on actually beating MSU in any form before we worry about Narduzzi.
