Najee Harris DOES have a Bama e-mail...but it means nothing. You get one for applying.

And you keep making new accounts and trolling. I don't think you realize I wasn't being serious either. So I'm telling you now. I wasn't being serious. It's your point total...it just screams I'm here to troll. It's funny. So from now on you can assume that every time I respond to you...I'm laughing. But don't let me stop you...do your thing brah, we've all got our place.

Industrial Engineer here....

I'm very curious as to the benefits of automatically giving out e-mail addresses for all applicants.  Is there reason the system can't give e-mail addresses to only accepted applicants? Do acceptance notifications go out by e-mail only? If that were the case I could understand that it's easier to just give everyone who applies an e-mail address...

Our system simply looks for a trigger on an account under 'status'. When it hit applied, bam - account. It has since been switched to 'registered'. The thinking originally was getting someone acclimated to an institution ASAP would help get the student to finally enroll since most Higher Ed institutions are fighting for enrollment. It didn't work.

Agree. I work at a university and its irritating as fuck when everyone has an email but never actually commits to come here. Half the time it shows people on my rosters as part of our college who never show up so it's misleading when reporting data on incoming students as well. I can see why they assign them at application but wish they would purge after the commitment date and not just leave them in there until classes start.

I believe the main purpose for this practice is to increase efficiency, reduce the number of manual inputs and reduce errors. Because its a manual process to add an applicant to the system and then add someone accepted/enrolled, that creates two potential input areas and a much higher likelihood of human error with inconsistencies, spelling errors, etc. Emails are typically the unique identifier they use in systems so it also creates a massive database everyone who has applied, enrolled, graduated, etc. Thats particularly helpful because its centralized and can be passed between systems throughout the various parts of the university if the data is standardized.

You know what though, I've sorta noticed Najee falling down in scrimmages... a lot. So, is he just cutting too hard for being a 6'3'' guy, or is that something to be fixed? I know u shouldn't compromise the explosion of a move solely for the sake of balance, just something I've noticed.
