My Local Newspaper
I live in Ohio ... figured i would wake up and read the backhanded compliments in todays Tribune .. so i start reading all about the Buckeyes which is the ENTIRE front page ... I find NOT ONE mention of the Michigan game .. as if it never existed.
I called the editor and asked "I understand this is Buckeye territory but why not even a UM score ?
He responds with "Most of our readers are more interested in OSU so we did not have the room" ... i said well how come you found room to have articles on the OU-BYU game,Bama-VTech game and about 5 other games ... i told him there are ALOT of UM fans here in the area which there certainly are.
He got defensive real quick and his tone picked up and he says "you said it yourself this is Buckeye territory so Michigan did not make the paper today"
I got him back with the "well then why in the hell did read all about the accusations of UM violations all damn week ?

I watched football most of the day yesterday with a bunch of Buckeye friends and acquaintances. They talked all sorts of shit from about an hour before their game until whatever point it was they all realized that they are probably going to get stomped next week in the 'Shoe. Then they started to quiet down a little. By halftime of the Michigan game, I was watching Michigan alone as they had all moved downstairs to watch Georgia-Oklahoma State. It's been way too long since the tables have turned a little.

will fall on O$U soon enough, and the jacka*ses wont have as much pride anymore. Kudos to you for calling the guy though. I would stop buying that paper or cancel your subscription (if you have one) and let them know why.

The Chicago Tribune had the tiniest of tiny blurbs about the game. Meanwhile they had a giant article about ND. I realize there are a lot of Catholics in Chicago but there are also a hell of a lot of UM grads. Oh well this why I go on the internets anyway.

it's apparently a smallish ohio newspaper. they covered tOSU and apparently the games from top 25 teams. i'm not seeing anything particularly outrageous

I dont think it was outrageous and i was calling in a way as just asking a question and i was very polite .. until the guy starting getting an attitude and raising his voice ... you would just think that after having all the stuff they had about the violations all week they would at least give a score.
