My experiences at michigans football camp
sharing your inside perspective on the event young man. Enjoy the rest of your time at camp.
Thanks for keeping all of us informed on the real camp experience. Good luck, have fun and soak everything in. Seems like a life long memory and amazing experience.
I am glad to see the coaches were able to "touch" you.
Gross.
Thanks for posting. Have a great time for the rest of the week.
I attended the Michigan camp (waaaaaay back when) and remember the expierience like it happened yesterday. Bust your ass, son. Compete as hard as you can. Take everything in and even keep a journal of your experience....you'll thank me in about 25 years.
Go Blue!
Cool post. Sometimes it seems like Mattison is the head of our program. As long as Hoke doesn't mind, then its all good I suppose.
My highest hope is that Hoke is a world-class leader/motivator who delegates the X's and O's on both sides of the ball to the right people. This sounds like exactly what he is doing so far on defense. Time will tell if the offense is in the right hands. At any rate, at least they are payiing Mattison enough to keep him this time.
Did you get to touch Denard?
No one can touch Denard.
Lloyd Brady?
hope camp goes well for you young guy. Great persective keep on posting the whole week. I think there might be a diary or even a diarist of the week in it for you. go blue
Thank you for taking the time to give us some insider reports
Thanks, make sure you enjoy your time there.
be curious to hear what you think that you learned that helped you the most with your own playing.
No more pincherbugs! or maybe more pincherbugs! I can't remember which is better for o line.
Enjoy! It sounds like a great experience.
I was there as well, and the OLine group this year is huge. There are plenty of the perceived 'road graders' that the new staff wants to bring back. Elmer from Midland was there and he is gigantic, but the scariest thing about that is he still looks to have the frame to grow much, much more.
Ben Braden was there and he seemed even bigger than Elmer. The cliche may be overused, but his legs are the size of tree trunks. He also moved better than the vast majority of linemen, which is especially impressive considering his size.
Coach Funk is definitely a good one. He preached eye contact and chemistry. He wants the campers to help each other out along the way and to support each other. He said the 5 men on the OLine need to act as 1, and that chemistry is vital.
Another theme echoed by Mattison, Funk, and all of the other coaches was respect. Respect for yourself, for the other campers, for the camp staff, and for the camp itself.
They also had the camp do what the players do at meetings. Years? 132. Championships? 42. Beat! Ohio!
Rivals is reporting that we offered him today. It's good we're getting in early with this guy.
Thanks for sharing and stay healthy my friend. Enjoy all that the game has to offer. Remember the signature at the bottom!
Thanks for taking the time to give alot of us a unique perspective of what is happening at the football camp. Hope you have a great week. GO BLUE
He made it very clear that we had the best coaching staff in the nation (he also pointed out that we will have the best special teams in the nation). We'll start stocking up on Muppets. Thanks for your insider information.
Thanks for taking the time to write that. I enjoyed reading what the camp experience was like. I have to also agree with a few of the other guys who posted here. Enjoy your time this will be an experience you will never forget. And try to take away as many positive things you can.
.Thank you again!!!!
GO BLUE FOREVER!
.
Thank you.
Hey thanks to both of you for sharing your experiences I hope you keep doing it. I don't know much about the Michigan camp like how many people attend, what exact kind of drills you do, who is there, what is said from coaches, etc.
If you want to write more about it I'm sure we'll all be interested to read as detailed as you want to get. Thanks guys!
and thanks for sharing. I will look forward to your updates. Soooo pumped up for football season and it is info like this that carries everyone through the summer.
Go Blue!
I have to agree with the suggestion of keeping a journal. Of course it will be so much easier today as 25 years ago that poor SOB was taking notes like Larua Ingelles from Little House on The Prarie.
I go back into my journal every so often and look over the pictures my Dad took from the games I played in High School and college-after your Dad is gone this journal will keep you close to him.
Thank you for posting the update.
Thanks for posting this - have a great camp, I'm sure with your motivation you'll learn a lot and do well!
Go Blue!
