I saw the post about Chip Kelly and I thought I had a duty to bring up my unique and just as plausible candidate for the head coaching job. Let's face it, we're looking for two things in a new coach: wins and Michigan beating OSU. What better candidate than someone who knows the series, had a TON of success in getting Michigan to beat OSU, and won a ton of games. Of course, I'm talking about John Cooper.
Now a lot of you naysayers will demand a "Michigan Man" and say that a head coach for OSU is basically the devil incarnate. I think you're ignorant on the first count and right on the second--but hear me out.
John Cooper won 70% of his Big 10 games at OSU, and Michigan was a staggering 9-2-1 in games he coached (75%!). I'll take three out of four and run with it. Furthermore, he coached series luminaries like Joe Germaine and Ryan Miller.
The evidence clearly points to him being a great caretaker hire until Harbaugh gets fired by the 49ers in three seasons because he doesn't have a great QB.
