My 2010 Michigan Anthem(In lyric form)

Submitted by Akademic09 on

Long time reader, not very active, you guys keep me goin Sunday through Friday. I was an aspiring rapper in Saginaw, before moving to Ohio for work. I wrote a 2010 Michigan Anthem Monday and Tuesday, unfortunatley i have no way of recording it, and I know its kind of meh without music to catch the flow, but i figured i could get some feedback either way.

It's overplayed, Michigan's in dismay, listen to them laugh as they kick us where we lay,

Im not depicting us as victims, Im just sayin, watch the haters fade as The Victors gets to playin,

cuz that spread is sick, Shoelace just stuttered quick, stiff armed, you just whiffed, hit the turbo, then its 6,

or read option, hand it to Vincent Smith, he vanishes then thats it, the bands already hit it,

thats if youre lucky, cuz trust me it might get ugly, if Mike Shaw gets to duckin and weavin behind those uglies,

or Mike Cox lowers the boom and gets to trucking, or Fitzgerald hits the hole, then its over, no discussion,

or spread it out, hit Roundtree with the post pattern, or Tae Odoms with that bubble screen it wont matter,

DC Stonum with the thunder punch, see ya later, TRob'll hit ya ass with the dreamshaker,

cant forget about the odd couple, the oldest lookin tight ends in the Big Ten, K. Kog and Martell Webb,

Molk, Schilling, Patrick O, Perry Dorrestein, 60 minutes with these war pigs, youll need some morphine,

switch sides to defenders of the Big House, Offense wins games but the D will knock your ass out,

at the line RVB will frickin choke slam ya, and Lou Ferrigno goes to bed in Mike Martin 'jamas,

Greg Banks comin, goin backwards might be wiser, but then you see the double 8's in your helmet visor,

Mouton ball hawkin, check the replay, listen to the crowd chantin Obi-Ezeh,

T-Woolf in a cast, now they say you should, burn us but you find yourself in Mr. Rogers neighborhood,

JT Floyd's got the other side so i wouldnt visit, Prison Abs, Carvin  and Cam Gordon hit stickin,

we are back, the winningest program with the rich tradition, revenge in 2010 is our only mission,

you hear the rumblings, i know youve hear things, what kind of team you think we got if Forcier's our third string,

come and see, witness history, Those Who Stay Will Be Champions echo's through the seats,

to the banner, you think you can stop us, please, i got 113,000 friends that disagree.

I wrote this and play it over a bluegrass melody.  Doesn't exactly sound like the victors just more like bluegrass.  Not trying to bastardize the victors or anything, stll love the victors the most.

Show’dem buck how Uncle Pen play the fiddle! (Hail)

Denard right, left, complete left right middle! (Hail)

Tay-O show that dread locks can

Done describe a Michigan man!

Show’dem buck how Uncle Pen play da fiddle! (Hail)

Denard run left wait right wait middle (Hail)

Hail Shoelace fly, a ring in the canyon,

Michigan’s flags are proudly flyin’!

Show’dem buck how uncle pen play da fiddle (Hail)

Slots dart around, they all crazy fast little (Hail)

Thread’em high Hail Lace’em low

Hail Beat that drum till its time to go!.  GO BLUE! (repeat)

I can sort of pick up the cadence but that might just be my particular style. A beat would go a long way.

Do you have any tracks in mind you would flow these over? You must've had something you were stylin' to when you wrote these. For example, I just read these over the instrumental track for Shook Ones pt 2 and it was pretty slick. The track for Heart of the City fits well, too.

i actually have probably close to 500 amateur beats on CD's, and i the flow was to one of the beats i had. I tried finding a Michigan themed or even a football themed beat, but couldnt find one. I had ACID Pro when i lived in Saginaw, but i cant afford that shit now, otherwise it would have been recorded already.
