Multiple Sources: Dunn Sticking With OSU

Submitted by Ace on

Just to clear this up, as I'm sure the question about Bri'onte Dunn potentially opening back up will be asked several times:

Dunn and Pittman both say they're sticking with OSU.

That's OSU's main guy on Scout. Other sources are saying the same thing.

Who wouldn't want to be Urban Meyer's next great collegiate running back? I mean, if history shows us anything, its that Urban Meyer produces top notch, pro-style running backs.

I know it's a really bad pun but I really don't care anymore.  We have talent, we'll keep getting talent and if he's all wishy-washy I don't really want him around.  Happy that fans of the school in Ohio are crying and I wouldn't trade Hoke and company for Urb's or anyone else for that matter. Go Blue!

Who cares?  Dunn made his choice (repeatedly) and that's that.  Meyer is the OSU coach, Dunn is sticking with him and Dantonio is seriously pissed that his Fulmer Cup battle just got a bit more heated with the short arm of the law in control in Columbus.

I understand the issue of Dunn will continue to linger until NSD, but until he shows a strong interest in M, I'd rather just forget about him altogether.

Objectively, M would have been a perfect fit for him (upper tier academics, character staff, aspirations of a traditional M power running game), but the kid obviously loves OSU enough, despite penalties and a non-conforming offense, to stick with that joke of a university.

With fear that my M pride clouds my rationality, I say cut ties...  see you on the field in three years when wormely, pip, bolden, strobel, mario, ross, and RJS  are clogging the gaps.

While the use of "faggots" was not the right word choice, I agree that this was funny. We also have to remember that these are still high schoolers we talk about, and therefore misuse of words like these are unfortunately more common. Hopefully he will learn better.

But I think everyone missed the best thing about this tweet. Hoke is already teaching him well with his use of "Ohio". Well done Mags, well done.

To me this is one of the classic moves of the recruiting analysts that are actually de facto recruiters for a certain school.  Some circumstance suggests a reason for a player to de-commit and the analyst gets the kid on the record and says people are saying you're going to betray us....are you going to betray us?  Then the kid says of course not.  Then you have that statement of loyalty on the record and hope it makes the kid feel locked in.  And I can't say we're not guilty of the same thing sometimes (e.g. Kalis most recently).

No disrespect or ill wishes to Dunn or his family, but he needs to stay at Ohio. I don't want a Buckeye here, and for all intents and purposes, that's what he's always been. He made his choice, and I wish him the best, except when he plays agianst Michigan, or plays in a game that could effect Michigan negatiely by him playing well. GBOD

Our class seems to be rounding out nicely, the fears of mass poaching by  Meyer are thus far unfounded (and certainly today's news doesn't help him out), and despite the unexpected harshness of the sanctions (I say this because I didn't think that the NCAA would even do this much), I had a feeling that at least most kids already committed will remain so. After all, a fair number of them may not even play during the ban from postseason play, but they'll have the benefit of every other aspect of the program. I wish Dunn well, save in one particular matchup.

Anybody who loves OSU as much as this kid does is very deserving of spite.

He's clearly in the "see no evil, hear no evil" stage. Poor sap.

Ah, what the hell.  Good for him.  He's made a commitment (twice) and in the face of adveristy (albeit modest adversity) he sticks with his commitment.  That's commendable in a 17- or 18-year old kid. I hope he tears it up at OSU, goes on to a successful NFL career, and loses to Michigan every time.
