Mud Bowl Tomorrow 9:45 AM

Submitted by fanatic3332000 on
For those of you in Ann Arbor tomorrow just wanted to let you know that the 78th annual Mud Bowl event will be taking place at Sigma Alpha Epsilon (on corner of South University and Washtenaw) at 9:45 AM. The event raises money for Mott Children's Hospital as it's SAE's annual philanthropy event. So far $35,000 has been raised this year. SAE will be playing Phi Kappa Psi in the main game and during halftime the girls of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Sigma Kappa will be playing. Come out and enjoy a great tradition here at U of M.

I remember seeing that when I was probably 8.  We were visitin my aunt when she still lived in AA and walked past.  I wanted to go play so much.  Of course, it was 1988 or there abouts, so they might have let me.

I miss the days when people realized kids are made of rubber and won't break.

I thought this was a homecoming day tradition.  I went back to Ann Arbor for the game vs. Iowa, looked for the mud bowl, and was disappointed.  Maybe I was mistaken?

Thetas were always SAE partners...the guys  used to only play the Phi Delts as well. What happened there? Are there still fights that break out? 5 apples!

Theta and SAE are still neighbors, but not tailgate partners this year, nor since I've been here. While Phi Delt was off-campus (97-00ish?), SAE switched to tournament style, with the winner of the tournament playing SAE in finals in the mud.
