MSU ticket question??

Got a call this am to see if I would be interested in 2 tickets to MSU Section 44 Row 81.

Price right now would be $375 each.

Good deal or bad?

*EDIT* I thought it was $375 for both, $375 per ticket seems extremely high.

on the high side, but not out of the realm.  Just check stub hub.  If you have an account there, you can put up tickets for sale, and when it gets to the price, it will give you the option to see what tickets actually sold for, as opposed to just the list price which is what you see. (you can then cancel selling your tickets, but still see the price)

Looks like a good deal!  Price for the tickets in the same area are going for at least that much and some a lot more!  They are on the MSU side  and near the middile (40 or so) of the field.  Your call . . . I have never set in that area.

Generally speaking, if you get a call from someone just offering you tickets and they want to be paid, they are probably just trying to get your credit card number or something.  I mean, who just calls people up randomly to offer them tickets?

If this is a friend or someone you know, then why so high?  I just scored my friend two tix to that game and gave it to him for face value.

Anyway, to answer your question, I would wait until after both teams play more games (ND games and real away games).  The price is not likely to go up much higher if they win, but it could go down.

Terrible.

Take it from a season ticket holder, that the last 4-5 years have been break even, if not loss for tickets. I give the majority of mine away when I don't go.

Never buy tickets that far ahead....for all we know, we could lose half our games until the MSU game, at which point, you can get the tickets for face value, or even free (find a friend).

With that said, the only game I have plans to attend right now, is the MSU game...so that's clearly the best of the home games this year.

I too have broken even the last couple years.  I went to the best games and could sell my "off games" at face value.  Not great seats or anything.

But, wait....we could lose half our games until the MSU game?  Did you really just throw that out there like it is even remotely possible?  Wow.  The Bama game shook you deeper than most.  And, THAT is why you think you will get the tickets for face value or even free.  If that is your reason for waiting, you might as well wait because you think you might get hospitalized some day before the game.

Then you say that because you chose to go to the MSU game, that makes it the best of the home games this year?  How about it is just supposed to be the best game.

Your post is confusing and poorly worded.... and just strange.  Nice to meet you.

And only try to get ride of the worst games, how can you expect to do more than break even? If you want to make a profit (which why are you buying season tickets anyway) sell MSU, or UTL, and go see UMass. You'll make a profit. But I don't think that's the point. If you buy a whole season ticket and just go to one game you're lucky to be breaking even. You should probably just be going to the games, or just buy the tickets for the games you want and give up the season ones to someone who actually wants to see the team play, rather than just trying to go to an "event" then making a profit.

Edit-

Profit made on Michigan Football games- $0

Money expended on season tickets- probably $5-10k

Being there for Michigan Football moments- Priceless.

Just curious for anyone willing to pay that much...were you shut out of season tickets, and even the mini-packages?  Because for $375 you practically have a full season ticket...they were only $390 this year. If you only wanted to attend the one game you could probably sell the rest for $5 each and make up the difference. Or, you know, if it's one of the really only give away-able games, go and see a second game for no added charge. Iowa can probably get a couple of bucks, if not actually profit for that ticket, at least the $15 more you're paying for all the games.

The mini-package even moreso if you were able to get one with MSU.

Not if you want section 44.  Those are 30 yard line tickets. You'd have to pay the PSD and you'd have to have enough priortiy points to qualify to buy them.

But really, having sat all around Michigan Stadium, unless you're up way too close or something, there's not that big of a difference. If you want to pay a premium to be a little more center though, whatever floats one's boat.

I'd wait a couple more weeks.  See how both teams do against ND, and then see where the demand is.

I'd probably pay 100 to watch a game against Sparty, but not much more.  Prices always plummet at kickoff also.

I'm not sure about that price.  Granted Section 44 is probably around the 30 yard line, you can still find tickets on stubhub for a little over 200 bucks each in the corner/endzone sections (which still a little too high for my liking).  Also, scalpers will probably be selling them for 150 a pop the day of if you want to risk it.  So if you do really want to go, is it really worth it to you to pay $150 to $225 dollars more a ticket to get a little bit better of a view?

Probably a much better idea to check stubhub...

Just want to keep my Tix, as I live too far to go much, but I love my seats. So I've never looked into what they're worth. Just sell them to friends and relatives for fv. No more!

Well if you don't care that much, it's not a big deal, but especially for the decent-to-good games, even your friends and family probably wouldn't mind spending over face for those kind of seats.

I flew up from North Carolina last year and paid $175 for Notre Dame and $140 for OSU.  Those were both much bigger games (at least in my opinion)  $375 seems outrageous for Sparty.

I'm actually flying up for the MSU game this year too (trying to work it around a business trip) and was hoping to score tix for $150 or less.  Maybe that's wishful thinking?

999.99 for the pair, plus one cent for handling. Worth much more to be there when Sparty gets what's coming to them. No deal if you wear green.
