Must be annoying as hell having to play with that offense on your team
October 7th, 2017 at 11:22 PM ^
Don Brown for Offensive Coordinator??
October 7th, 2017 at 11:23 PM ^
Don brown must be so pissed off.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:23 PM ^
Everyone on the offense better be buying the D dinner for the next week. They took care of business.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:23 PM ^
They did about all they could.
Frustrating.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:55 PM ^
fumbles, bobbles went MSU way
We had them stopped...
even more frustrating
October 8th, 2017 at 2:49 AM ^
Especially 2nd half. Best halftime adjustments you'll see from any unit in NCAA.
14 points allowed, at home, at night--that should be a win.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:23 PM ^
They did all they could. 14 points should have been good enough.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:59 PM ^
Yeah since Ty Isaac handed them 7.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:24 PM ^
in a game we had every chance to win despite 5-0 turnover deficit.
October 8th, 2017 at 12:10 AM ^
a +5 turnover margin was almost completely negated by a defense.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:26 PM ^
One first down the entire second half plus the last 7 minutes of the first half. This defense is absolutely elite and we are not helping them at all in offense. I don’t really even blame O’Korn for a lot of that because I’m not sure why we were passing in a monsoon.
I was just talking to a friend of mine today and I joked that I wished we played Notre Dame tonight because of the forecasted rain because I know Purple Face would throw even in a hurricane. Apparently we do too.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:27 PM ^
Love Don Brown
October 7th, 2017 at 11:36 PM ^
He deserves better than the other coaches surrounding him.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:27 PM ^
If they could only play the first half like they always play in the 2nd.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:34 PM ^
They had a lot of improbable things, iffy penalties, and one well designed trick play go against them to even give up that 14. Oh, and giving the ball to them past midfield on a fumble.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:43 PM ^
This is true. The fact is that with the weather coming in and the known incompetence of our offense, 2 first half td's was too much. Don't get me wrong, the defense in the second half was nothing short of spectacular. But in this game, they needed a better first half for us to win. Much as we will all blame the offense, the fact is that the defense could have won this game with a more effective first half.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:28 PM ^
Just couldn't back it up.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:28 PM ^
Job as always, with our D we only need to muster 20 points a game to win. Unfortunately, our offense is horse shit and will be lucky to reach that the rest of the way.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:29 PM ^
Mo hurst has the fastest first step and get off the snap I have ever seen. Also mone has one of the slowest
October 7th, 2017 at 11:29 PM ^
0 Turnovers
October 7th, 2017 at 11:45 PM ^
Here is where our young secondary hurts us, promising as they are. They don't yet have the mental awareness at the college level to turn PBU's into INTs. Not playing man-to-man, anyway.
October 8th, 2017 at 2:18 AM ^
True. At least two breakups were definite INTs.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:29 PM ^
Outstanding effort by the defense, but not good enough.
October 8th, 2017 at 12:19 AM ^
I think you're an unreasonably tough grader. I think their effort tonight in the face of all those psychological blows was stellar. "Good enough" to win many games ...
October 7th, 2017 at 11:29 PM ^
Don Brown is this team’s lone saving grace. Earns his paycheck every Saturday.
Could’ve pressured Lewerke more, but they shut MSU down the entire second half. They gave the offense plenty of chances to win the game. This loss is in no way on the defense.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:29 PM ^
what a fucking great defense. if we even had a moderately shitty offense we could go undefeated. Instead we have a soul sucking fuck bag full of shit cakes that are banging my girlfriend masquerading as a slightly less shitty fuck bag full of shitty diarrhea soup bowls readu to bend over and poop on their own heads.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:37 PM ^
but the offense is so below average that it will prevent us from sniffing it. Frustrating. Worst part is I see no cavalry coming next year. Still gonna be an elite defense, still gonna be ass offense.
I think we caught the Florida disease from Florida at some point...
October 8th, 2017 at 2:19 AM ^
Idk bro we might have Newsome
October 7th, 2017 at 11:42 PM ^
Pure Poetry...
October 7th, 2017 at 11:30 PM ^
When the game was on the line they couldn't make a play per usual. Took a SpartyNo! to give U-M the ball back.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:34 PM ^
They got two first downs -- the first two of the entire 2H -- one solely due to a BS offsides call and one solely due to complete luck with Lewerke rolling over two guys before touching the ground. The D was sick.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:35 PM ^
were it just a good defense, we give up 30-35 points...MSUU had great FP with all but one of their turnovers.
October 8th, 2017 at 2:20 AM ^
Find another team.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:30 PM ^
I honestly worry that Don Brown is just going to leave one day, after gettig so tired of being the best Defense in the country but getting zero help from the Offense.
Who needs that shit?
October 7th, 2017 at 11:36 PM ^
M are just BC West.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:30 PM ^
They are stuck losing a game that any competent offense wins.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:30 PM ^
Only thing one could say is that they did not generate any turnovers.
Come close to a couple of INTs. Would have swung the game in M's favor.
But (obviously) this loss is a result of poor offensive game plan and poor offensive play (esp. 5 turnovers).
October 7th, 2017 at 11:32 PM ^
Tough watching our D sit there and take it after the game and the offense ran off like fuck this shit I'm going home.
Gary played up to what we have been expecting. Hurst was a beast. Winovich did Winovich things. McRay was a liability in the first half. Bush balled out.
We better fix our fucking offense fast or this will be our eternity
October 7th, 2017 at 11:33 PM ^
Your offensive playcalling is HORRENDOUS!! Yeah, Isaac's fumble was huge and O'Korn is not great. But the coaching is so subpar that we really can't expect much more this year unless there's a change. It's like having Hoke coaching the offense again!!!
October 8th, 2017 at 1:19 AM ^
Nothing outstanding or flashy, just Lloydball offense and with this D we would be in the National Championship.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:34 PM ^
Play both ways?
October 8th, 2017 at 2:22 AM ^
Seriously though Gary would be better than the turnstiles we trot out at RT.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:34 PM ^
Too bad they need to score too. Just couldn't get a good bounce for a turnover all night.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:56 PM ^
Every bounce went their way tonight- every Lewerke drop, the punt that went over their PR head and bounced right to them to recover.
One of those days...
October 7th, 2017 at 11:35 PM ^
For all those commenting on no turnovers. MSU took no risk. We didn't allow a first down in the 2nd half until there were 3 mins left. What the fuck more do you want?
October 7th, 2017 at 11:39 PM ^
MSU had I think 2 first downs in the entire 2nd half. We should have blown them out
October 7th, 2017 at 11:43 PM ^
There were a couple we had a shot at with a little more luck. The one they caught over Watson's head on the second TD drive, the fumbled snap at the end if it bounces differently, those both come to mind.
But yeah, State was really conservative once they got the lead. Dantonio coached like he understood the weather report.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:43 PM ^
They took no risks AND every single ball bounced right back into their hands. That punt muff could have been a Michigan touchdown. At the end, the ball bounced right back up to Lewerke. Feels bad man.
October 7th, 2017 at 11:35 PM ^
Shit first half. Better in the second but unsure how hard State actually tried and still didn't properly contain their only threat; the QB's legs.
