Sparty fans speculating that Denard won't be able to finish the game. Time for another bounty investigation, this time by the NCAA.
MSU Red Cedar Board: Will Denard finish the game?
just give me such hope for humanity. Nothing classier than wishing injury on a guy like Denard.
I believe the more apt question is will Denard finish the game with fewer than 250 yards of total offense?
He wont finish the game, he will be chilling on the sideline with michigan up 30 points and smiling away the minutes til paul bunyan comes home
An excellent first post from a Mr..... pinktacos?
Don't google that.
I'll never forget the game last year against Ohio. I had two guys behind me screaming "hurt him!", every single time Denard touched the ball. Sparty and Ohio are in the same trash can as far as I"m concerned.
I'm sure no Michigan fan has ever cheered for an opposing star player to get hurt.
That is exactly what I was thinking the entire time. They were pretty serious about it too.
i think you missed the /s
Yes, because if there is at least one such fan in each fan base, the fan bases are the same for all intents and purposes. Similarly, every living person has done something unethical, so it's foolish to suggest that some people are less ethical than others.
Sorry... this line of argument drives me crazy.
I find that hard to believe unless you were sitting in the Ohio section...and even then I kind of doubt it. Personally, I have never seen Ohio fans do anything like that (except maybe in the 90's). Sparty fans are a different story...like the weather in Hawaii, if you haven't seen them do something classless, wait 10 minutes.
Nope, season ticket holder. Why would I make that up?
unless the refs do their fucking job early.
game where I hope the refs keep the flags are the ready. We dont need any "let the boys play" attitude. moo u is so dirty. marky mark and his henchmen.
state is an aweful school. I cant imagine the players being proud of their team, school or coach.
There is nothing awe inspiring about that piece of shit of an institution.
We'll see if the Big Ten refs came here with a plan to control the game or whether they let it get completely out of hand like last year. They need to be ready to eject guys if necessary.
how pissed would you be if you were a michigan state player that you have so many horrible fans like these people. I think they enjoy making their teams and university look bad. it's in their blood or something.
The players are so pissed that they beat the hell out of the fans around campus on an annual basis.
And the coaches are so pissed they encourage their players to injure opposing teams' players.
from the few glances around the stands the cameras have afforded during their last games.
makes me want to burn a couch right now !
AND good fans. I was married to a Sparty a few years back. I finally wised up and booted her, but her parents were totally awesome people. Hard working, honest, decent human beings who supported MSU, but also devoted much time and money to other worthy causes. Exactly the kind of people you'd want as neighbors, assuming you could tolerate the silly green flag.
I hate Sparty, but not all their fans are douches. My ex in laws are great people.
I'm going to paraphrase a George Carlin quote: "I hate groups of people, but I love individuals." When someone is acting with a group of people, they aren't necessarily the same as they would be individually. I grew up in the Lansing area and most of the MSU fans that I know are great people. I also traveled to the game at MSU last year and I couldn't be more disappointed with how their fans acted as a whole. And sure, maybe you remember the terrible fans more than you remember the nice ones, but a good proportion of the fans that I saw were assholes to me that day. That having been said, we have some assholes too. I've seen it in our stadium, but I've also seen someone get yelled at by their entire section for shitty behavior before. It was awesome, and I'm glad that a bunch of people realized he was being a douche and made it a point to let him know.
Holy crap, their fanbase is true garbage. Every post is filled with petty, jealous vitriol, wishing injury on a classy guy because he plays for a rival. Wow. Brother issues, Sparty?
They make me want to puke.
+1 to you, sir. Obligatory:
One of the many things that separate us from Sparty. I'm all for hatred of a rival school, otherwise what is college football for? But still, wishing injury on an opposing football player? East Lansing keeping it classy as always.
go up 30 on MSU, JDK will kneel for the victory.
Stay classy, Sparty.
The fact that entire fanbase is so threatened by a single 20-something year old kid is disturbingly pathetic. I've read message board posts from 50 year old men, calling Denard names and wishing ill-will on him.
I hope DR has his biggest game ever tomorrow.
I Call it the reverse-ND treatment.
Denard's fortunes from 2010 & 2011 were reversed in 2012.
It only applies to teams that use green on (at least some) of their uniforms.
Honestly, it's a valid question.
Hoke may want to save Denard for the Nebraska game once we're up 31 after 3 quarters.
I will be the first to say that football is more than a sport. However, there is a line that shouldn't be crossed and state is doing that (at least those participating in that thread). The comments hoping that a hit will end Denards career are sickening, I don't want to just win tomorrow I want to embarrass state tomorrow.
Go blue! Fuck state.
Well the play of Michigan State exemplifies it, too. They seem to revel in dirty hits, trash talking, unsportsmanlike conduct, and an overall lack of discipline. The example of bad sportsmanship and deliberate disrespect comes from the coach, through the players, and out to the fanbase. Not surprised fans openly celebrate intent to injure as well. It's just another baby step from where they are. They want a Spartan to end Denards college career "on a clean hit, of course." Why stop there? They've already debased themselves. They're already trash. It's funny to watch them try and dress it up as somehow acceptable.
Remember last year when one of the safeties from MSU came out and said they were going to try to hurt Russell Wilson, then on the first play of the game, Montee Ball put his shoulder down and injured said MSU safety trying to make the play? That team is trash. The fanbase is trash. I hope we fucking dominate them.
is that they are justifying it because Michigan fans are saying that Gholston won't finnish the game.... because he's going to get removed from the field for dirty play.
Southern Cal University of Michigan?
Nope....South Carolina University of Michigan
He's a human being, wtf is wrong with them. How can anyone wish or even try to predict anothernpersons injury. At the end of the day it's just a game, they think it should literally be life or death. This is absolutely sickening, they are a disgrace to humanity.
Thank them for not letting this place turn into THAT.
Michigan fans aren't sick like michigan state fans, we would never say those types of things about a person, let alone a GOOD 22 year old kid.
When your rivals want to get some kind of screen shot of your team's blog message-board, because they think that moderators and any supervising adults will be horribly embarassed, you gotta figure something's going wrong.
I do hope that the whole thing can be preserved for posterity. Somebody copy it before they lock it and delete it.
in what not to be.
Shut up, nucky
I hate scUM and coach cHoke, all the walmart fans cheering with their noses in the air. Ann Arbor sucks. Denard sucks a$$. Fuck scUM.
/looks at rcmb
/finds out this post actually exists
Who do you think you are?
I know the message you're trying to make, but it still kinda makes you look like a troll.
Is that how you wrote your last term paper ? At least here you can usually read several posts before somebody makes an uncalled for comment. On that site it is rare to see a post that does not say "scum" a few swear words, etc. Makes me wonder if the profs grade their students with " wrong scumbag " or "good work asshole. a fucking A- " in spartyland.
"Robinson's day ended late in the fourth when he was thrown down by Marcus Rush, who was called for roughing the passer. The Michigan quarterback stood on the sideline, green grass stains all over his uniform, as the Spartans finished off another win over the Wolverines."
That brutal chop and throwdown seems rarely to get discussed. I honestly think that play and the Gholston face-mask wrench warrant being thrown out of the game. Something is wrong with college football if the only repurcussion for this is 15 yards.
It was his second roughing the passer penalty, right? It clearly resulted in injury; after a clear intent to cuase injury. It was late in the game, but I really thought that there would be an explusion.
Later, I advocated for a suspension of Rush as much as Gholston. It's good that the cameras caught Gholston's facemask-twist, but he wasn't even penalized for that; it was called a late hit. Not many people saw the helmet twist, at the bottom of the pile. I was there and could not see it; I don't think the refs saw it at all. Everybody saw Marcus Rush's two personal fouls.
And we've been over the punch, which was mere silliness by comparision. Gholston reacted to Lewan's hands on his facemask, as Lewan was responding (perhaps self-defensively) to Gholston's having arm-barred him earlier.
Yes, Marcus Rush's series of personal fouls in that game were as vicious as Gholston's.
Why are there people in this thread surprised and shocked by that coming from there? That is what RCMB does, it is expected ignorance from them.
Before the fall.
What goes around comes around.
Every time I click a link to RCMB this happens:
All they can do is pray for injury? These are the five time defending rose bowl champs here. What a sad night. And all I can say to this is... Na na na na na, our defense is better.
Save some time and dont visit their website. I mean you know that its going to be there, so why go look for it if it upsets you. some of their fans are, for lack of a better term, classless.
Seriously, lets stop worrying about what Michigan State has to say. I mean they worry about what we have to say about them, so lets not just make it a vicious cycle.
Remember Pride comes before a fall.
Just win this game.
Most underrated comment of the thread...
to confirm and reinforce the stereotypes that the rest of the world has about them. Whether it's a Buckeye dunking his head in a five-gallon bucket of piss or STAEE, it's all true.
About the comedy routine that is MSU: it's the truth, only faster. I think Fred Jackson might have told me that.
I'm sick of this. I'm sick of them. Those stupid assholes who do not deserve to have the word "Michigan" in their name. Fuck them, fuck that site and fuck their entire fanbase.
That whole site can go down in flames, which it will tomorrow when they have a meltdown when Michigan spanks their asses on nationa.....oh wait, state isn't good enough nor does anyone care enough about them for the game to be on national TV.
Thank you for making me laugh until I almost " got the wind knocked out of me."
I am just saying, Didn't you want TP hurt a little while he was at Ohio?
Come on, he was a 19 year old kid. Unreal.
I am saying it goes to show the duplicity of man. You know it is wrong when you see someone else do it. I am not so convinced that we recognize when we do it.
There is no doubting the duality of man, nor the occasional douchiness of members of any fan base.
What I CAN say is that comments rooting for injuries can't be found on this site, because we mods delete them. And as the guy who deletes them, I can tell you that they are exceedingly rare, and such comments are poorly received when they are made.
I'm not comparing the fan bases writ large, but I feel pretty comfortable in suggesting that the level of civility around here is light-years ahead of that at the RCMB.
Clearly, it is mere coincidence that Dantonio's players have been caught on film trying to intentionally injure opposing players--by chopping throats (reynolds vs Wisc's sorgi), poking eyes (allen vs osu's hankins), and twisting necks (gholston vs. UM'd robinson).
Clearly, it is mere coincidence that MSU—after Dantonio’s assistant exhorted his players to play 60 minutes of “unnecessary roughness”-- knocked Robinson out of the game last year with repeated late hits and personal fouls.
Clearly, it is mere coincidence that more than a dozen of Dantonio’s players were arrested for a group assault on dormitory residents---and that Dantonio coached most of the “dirty thirty”—the players arrested during the Tressel years at Ohio.
Clearly, it’s mere coincidence that Dantonio’s two most prized pupils at Ohio (highest NFL draft picks) were a guy with a subliterate Wonderlic score (Chris Gamble) and a substance-abusing player (Will Smith) who was suspended by the NFL for taking money to intentionally injure players in the bounty scandal.
Clearly, these events must all be unrelated coincidences.
Yet, some silly people will still ask unreasonable questions: like
“ how long does a series of coincidences go on before someone says: “there is a pattern here?”
Some silly people will still wonder:
“How long does it take before the mainstream media start discussing this pattern? How long does it take before the league or NCAA does something about it? How long does it take before the refs start throwing Dantonio’s players out DURING the game to compensate the injured team (and not waiting to suspend them later against a different team the following week)? “
Maybe that's the silliest idea of all--to think that anybody in authority would actually do something about these "coincidences."
They must have really given up on their team. They think we will win by so much our starters will be out of the game.
This is the reason that sparty could win 20 in a row against Michigan but still be considered little brother.
Could one of the mods please send the RCMB website to Bolivia?
All the Michigan fans that gave Dawson grief should consider their own behavior before they comment on classless Sparty being classless Sparty.
I think that any grown man talking about hurting a player just to win a football game is just plain moronic. Any grown man bashing a 16/17 year old boy for not wanting to play at your school is moronic. Sometimes I think people take it to a level it shouldn't be taken to. There is a kid at the high school who will never walk
again because of a dirty hit. Is this honestly what sports have come to? It's embarrassing!!!
Most of them are saying something to the effect of, "He'll finish. Dude is tough as nails." I don't mind some Sparty bashing, but save it for the schadenfruede thread.
Reading all the comments made me go back and doublecheck...but I dont see anything they are all seeiing. The RCMBers were all answering yes or no to whether or not Denard would get hurt.. they aren't saying they hope he does.
Silly white people
oh no you di'int
Hoke - A coach who focuses on molding his team into the best men possible on and off the football field. Build up your program. Don't tear other programs down. Be accountable to the team and the fans.
Dantonio - A man who focuses on nothing more than inflicting misery on everyone and everything. He would sell his own mother for a win against a MAC school. He turns a blind eye to despicable acts on and off the football field. Basically, the dude needs a hug and someone to tell him, "It's not your fault"..
Dantonio just this week said Hoke was a man that sometimes carried himself better than Dantonio does, lol.
Come on now. Every program has their Frank Clarks and Glenn Winston's to deal with.
It's the first step.
rattled by their own bad rep that it could interfere with their play tomorrow. Look for them to be really tentative at times.
I hope Denard runs for 200+ on them tomorrow and sends those morons back to truck driver school with tears in their eyes
The truck drivers go to tOSU games.
farming and livestock?
I think that thread should be required reading for the parents of any recruit in any sport who is considering going to MSU.
Denard won't finish the game.... When you're beating the living shit out of the opponent the coaches tend to pull the starters. Go Blue! Beat that green team!
Jack Kennedy finishes the game...by taking a knee.
So much win!
I hope he's the adopted son of a parent from the previous-previous-marrige. The further the better. At least I won't share genes.
All it took was losing to these "people" for 4 years for us to finally get up for this game and actually take them serious as a rival. Let's never allow something like this to happen again...
It's amazing how sparty fans forget that we won the SIX before this streak.
Given the level of sophistication of the posts over at RCMB, most of the posters must be about 14 years old, so they might not be old enough to know.
They are just smart enough to understand that they are stupid.
He didn't finish last year's game.. this is one of those "sounds worse than it is" things, imo. MSU has a tough defense and they are very physical. Denard has struggled against them in the past. Unless there is a player or someone specifically saying "that guy is going to late hit Denard", this is just rivalry banter. Lets make sure the players just shut them up on the field.
Denard made a statement final drive and won the game with help from DD and the Brunette Girl Kicker, Gibbons. I'd say he "finished" the game.
