What folks don't understand, is that this is part of the system.  What are we supposed to do?  Do the honorable thing and say "No, thanks. We probably aren't as good as another team in our conference"?

Yes, the BCS system is flawed, and $ based.  What about Purdue?  They beat OSU and had the EXACT same record, yet OSU got the better bowl bid.  

Sparty is just pissed because it's us.  Hell, Cousins voiced his displeasure in a (I believe) POST-game interview right after the B1G title game, so he already knew the deal and was pissed about it.

He can take it up with the head of our complaint department.

The comments from MSU players started pouring out after that sign was shown on TV. One of MSU players tweeted about it, and the rest took notice.

EMU beat WMU, yet somehow WMU was in the Pizza Bowl.  Oh yeah, EMU lost a few games that counted.....

Then kick back as their bitter tears trace jagged lines down their dirty little cheeks.  As they snuffle "its not fair, its not fair" and you look at them in their vacant, dejected eyes and you repeat the most self-evident phrase ever scribbled in the English language:

It's just Sparty whining. They had 7 home games. Last time I checked, the difference between 7 and 8 is ONE. Ya, big advantage there. Maybe if they had the winningest team in the country they'd get to play at home more, too. And if they want to talk about home advantage, they beat us and Wisky at home. Some people aren't even worth arguing with, which includes ALL Sparty fans.

This kind of stuff is always funny to hear about and see. They can't seem to realize that no matter what happens, we will always have a feeling of superiority over them. Better education, better overall and much more marketable football program, and a better rival.

They can't stand the fact that we are their biggest rival and that their entire season hinges upon whether or not they beat us, whereas as long as we beat ohio, a loss to them becomes almost irrelevant, and we couldn't care less about them. Not to downplay the instate rivalry, but its clear which rival is more important.

The Spartan tears that will be flowing from the floodgates next year in Ann Arbor after losing will taste so sweet. Almost like....sugar.

Michigan State is a nonentity in my opinion

I almost always hope that the BIG does well.  I was happy to see MSU pull off the win against Georgia.  It makes the league look better and aids in recruiting.  The better the recruting classes, the better the conference and chance for the National Championship.

As to the BCS,  it was Michigan that secured the invite by impressive wins against Nebraska and Ohio in its last two games.

MSU had its chance to get to a BCS bowl, but lost in the conference game.  Lost opportunity there.

Yes,  when revenue sharing is concerned, a team that can produce over 100,000 fans, will get more home games.  We were 4-2 on the road with the last one counting the most.

Except that, the way the BCS seems to "work", there's no real certainty that this is where MSU would have been. If Bell is looking for validation, the world of  Twitter is a bad, bad place to look.
