MSU @ ND...who ya got?!

Submitted by Mr. Yost on

Who do you want to lose more? MSU or ND?

What's your final score?

I'll go:

State - 31
Domers - 28

...a heartbreaking gamewinning FG by MSU to win the game after ND throws an INT trying to get into FG position to win the game. Kelly's head literally explodes.

I think ND must win this game to salvage any sort of season they could have.  The desperation, being at home, and MSU's weak OL and general overrated-ness leads me to pick ND 31 - MSU 27

At some point, ND may stop the turnovers and be successful.  Is it this week?  I really don't like either team, but the thought of watching Kelly's head become hundreds of pieces makes my day the most.

MSU 35, ND 31.

Now that we have beaten ND, my hate level for them has gone down. So I choose ND. They will get to Cousins and the MSU defense will get the "Alabama" treatment it got in their bowl game.

35-24.

Normally, I'd dismiss this game and hope they both lose.  That's not the case this year.  I want to see MSU start the Irish off 0-3 mostly because I would like to see MSU and UM undefeated going into week 7.

MSU - 30

ND - 21

I'm rooting for ND for Irish's sake (first time ever for a team outside the B1G vs a B1G opponent) ...but I can't take/bet on a team that chokes like that - I just don't think regression to the mean applies when choking is your mode of being.

Because I hate them both sooooo much!  I'll go with little brother and a couple of touchdowns.  I think MSU will exploit the same thing we did.  They will throw it down the field on the Irish.

I don't think it will be that close.

MSU 24 to ND 7

I don't think this one will ever be close.  I happen to think that Notre Dame is a pretty damn good team.  I also think that State is fraudulent.

I want ND to win so sparty can be ranked higher when we beat them!

ND and MSU play eachother really close tho , personally I think ND wins because MSU will come in assuming they will win. Notre Dame is not as bad as their record, we'll see tho starting 0-3 with all the bad press Kelly is starting to get ... I'm wondering if folks will start calling for his job.

ND is my least favorite team (I was at M in the early Holtz years) but Sparty rage is running feverishly high in my department here at work.  We need to calm the waters so I guess I want ND to win only because we beat them and they are already 0-2.  Would really like a blow-out as well - maybe like the MSU-Iowa game last year.

However, I will predict ND 31, MSU 23.

Don't forget we are still in competition with ND for all-time CFB winning percentage.  They are just a few thousandths of a point behind us.

Looking at their schedule, they could easily finish the season with more wins than us, despite starting 0-2.  We need ND to lose to everyone they play.  We can take care of Sparty ourselves.

MSU is the more complete team and takes care of its business.

Sparty 42, ND 28

The conference will really look weak if MSU loses, so for the sake of the B1G's reputation, I'll have to grit my teeth and root for them.

That would guarantee that the losing coach's head would actually explode.  It would almost set the stage for some sort of macabre rivalry trophy game.  Winning team's trophy is the intact head of their coach.

ND is not going to be able to stop MSU's offense from moving the ball and scoring. ND will come out early with 8 men in the box and MSU will respond by passing early and often and will go directly after #4 in ND's secondary. After watching Cousins pick ND's secondary apart for most of the first half, ND will have to retreat into more zone and nickel coverage, at which point MSU will run the ball down their throats. ND's only chance is to outscore MSU in a shootout, which means Rees (and maybe Crist) will end up throwing multiple interceptions. Bottom line: MSU, which has the better offense and defense and is an all around better football team, will win this one by double digits and the score will be closer than the game.
