This is a complete beatdown with 5:19 to go. I was expecting a loss but not to this degree. It seems the talent just isn't there for them to compete.
landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
eh, Im not to worried ucla is making me happy even if its not helping my bracket lol why the fuck did i pick sparty to begin with. ( o yeah i remember now, they lose Im happy, they win, Im happy for my bracket)
they're only down by ten.
Never ever ever ever throw dirt on Sparty's grave until they're actually dead. They are zombies.
He's one of the dirtiest players in the B1G and he bitches to the refs every time he's called for a foul.
This looks exactly like how UVA blew a 10-point lead against Miami. Exactly the same. Missing free throws and can't inbound the ball. I told you never ever ever ever throw dirt on MSU's grave because they have horseshoes jammed up their ass.
Don't blow this!!
UCLA's collar has gotten awfully tight.
And no schadenfreude before we win our game tomorrow.
completely fucked up this result. OP needs to apologize to UCLA. comback started with about 5:19 left.
OP just put the worst Ju-Ju on UCLA. Ever since the birth of this thread it's been downhill for the Bruins.
Not anymore... its depressing watching them get lucky in late game situations all the time
worst thread ever.
Comon UCLA! Hold on for 4 seconds please!
UCLA is killing me and themselves right now, this game would have been over if they would have made at 2 or 3 out of there last six.
Free throws motherfuckers, free throws! Learn to make them!!
Way to go OP. YOU RUINED SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!
Holy crap my cousin's 9-year-old daughter can shoot better than that
I thought this was a Michigan blog, not a MSU blog.
Wow, what a ridiculous finish.
How I missed these Sparty NOOOOOOO moments...
Bye Bye state, hope you enjoyed your one game in the tourney.
I suppose this doesn't mean that they will finally stop talking about Izzo and his March magic.
The media will stop talking about Izzo's "March magic" as soon as he takes an NBA job. That should probably be after this season. I can't imagine why he would want to stick around and try to rebuild this team. Izzo's market value may have gone down this year, and can only sink lower.
Imagine how much fun it would be if Izzo went to the Pistons and Dantonio got his dream job at TSIO, all in one year.
Give me 2 of whatever it is he's having.
But the whole storyline tomorrow about the game changed from a blowout to a gritty comeback.
Yeah, at least it looks better for the Big 10 this way, and MSU did still lose.
I can't believe they pulled it off. I thought the green dudes were going to pull another one out.
Was too close at the end!
But Sparty is out, done and dusted. Bye bye little bro!
at the critical point in the game.
Then again, I certainly don't mind watching Sparty get their heart broken after thinking they had a chance.
I jumped the gun. Lesson learned but thank goodness for the outcome.
I thought around the 6 minute mark that MSU was going to steal this game, and they nearly did. It goes without saying, but RCMB is freaking out.
What's your over/under for how many drunken Spartoons are clamoring for Izzo's firing?
It's more of a referee bashing/eating each other alive atmosphere down there in Hades.
Combine it will the all day drinking, and it's got to be on high alert.
Does that thing ever actually change? I always sort of got the impression it was just something that they put up to "prove" that East Lansing wasn't under martial law 100% of the time.
couches getting nervous.
Art Van smiling like the butcher's dog...
Down goes Sparty.
Another spartan loss, another angry group of fans whos only explanation for the loss is..... BLAME THE REFS. And apparently from reading a few thread topics things are already being set on fire.
MUWAHAHAHAHAH GO BLUE BABY!!!
Well, let's hope that all that talk about MSU and PSU having an easier draw than us wasn't actually true...
Sadly, it is. PSU choked and MSU was too far down. We're better than both of those teams by a pretty significant margin though.
How did PSU choke? They lost one of their better players early in the 2nd half and the game with Temple was back and forth the whole way, they got beat by an awkward leaning buzzer beater. Devastating loss, but I think they played well.
MIchigan State on the other hand...pretty pathetic performance for 30 minutes of that game, really sums up their season.
Having a defensive breakdown like that, it looked like Fernandez had a pretty clean look to the basket. I'd call that small lapse with a few seconds left a choke, although to even have a game to that point was impressive (considering that Brooks was out).
I don't think you can count a 10 seed losing to a 7 late in a close game a choke. A tough loss, but considering PSU wasn't even in the tourney discussion two weeks ago, taking a good Temple team to the end is pretty impressive.
I don't think it was a defensive breakdown so much as it's just a bad matchup for them and they had no answer for Fernandez all day. They stopped his initial look, so he used his pivot, stepped through and took an awkward leaning jumper and drained it. I think it was ok defense, just better offense and a clutch play by Temple. Completely irrelevant obviously, I just thought "choke" was a little harsh.
OMG Why is that team considered good in the last four years, they NEVER WON ANYTHING!
To be fair, they at least won a share of 2 of the last 3 B10 regular season titles. Again, nothing spectacular and certainly not the elite juggernaut they have been painted, but they still have fielded some good teams over the past 4 years.
Get the F*** off my bracket!
One and done. Michigan needs a W tomorrow. Keep going and the msu fans can watch it.
I was at an MSU alumni bar in Denver during the game. The look of pain and suffering on the MSU fans faces made my evening.
This is probably one of the best / worst threads I've ever read. Way to get at it, OP
