Good coaching staffs make quality halftime adjustments. If we ever want to take the next step, you can't just lose every single road game vs a halfway decent team. Time to prove something.
MSU Game Open Thread
Well that is the game folks
Can't run, can't win in this series. Still true today.
They can't run either, but the difference is they are putting constant pressure on Gardner while we are allowing Cook to hang out and look for his car in the parking lot.
We've got to bring pressure. He's getting too comfortable and is atarting to get in a zone.
Pretty sure it was MSU that started that little scuffle at the end of the half. Lewan lost his cool on the penalty he got, but MSU looked like the guilty party there.
Yet Nessler blames Lewan. Fuck you Nessler.
2 balls went straight up in the air and he ended up 1-2 for 15 yards
Blake should be covering the outside wide receivers but much like the Indiana game we trust a freshman covering the opposition's best WRs.
yea I do don't get this but it doesnt matter cause they are going to pick on Lewis anyway
We need to take it in. Next year will be the same thing and then hopefully we get a real coaching staff. This is pathetic. Every week we become the team we play.
Middle of O line can't block Akron or UConn or PSU, & they're playing one of best D's in country. Coaches (& fact that MSU receivers really cannot catch. At. All.) have done a good job to put us in place where we still have a shot.
The excuses only go so far when there are other teams around the country who could use those excuses and still don't look nearly as horrible. Their level of play is worse than anybody thought it would be coming into the year. Don't see how the coaches shouldn't get some blame.
If we became the team we are playing today, we would be winning.
It's going to take a lot more then just one year. DB isn't going to fire a coach he hired... a Michigan Man. His ego won't allow him to admit he made a mistake. Maybe after 4 more seasons of 7-8 wins, DB will admit he has to make a change. However, that's a long time in the future. So.. get used to it.
Look guys, MSU got exceedingly lucky in that half. Not only did they have a fumble that was recovered OB, but they had 2 near INT's and we shot ourselves in the foot with a bad snap. It's far from over.
Lewan is pissing me the fuck off. His entire career here he's proven he has very little self control and likes to start fights. You are the best damn lineman in the country, just do your damn job and nothing else.
He's frustrated just like us. He is awesome and is surrounded by people that can't do their jobs which means he can't win even when he does everything right. That doesn't give him the right to get personal fouls, but he's gotta be frustrated. I am frustrated as heck just watching.
I despise Nessler AND Blackledge.
I feel confident. We took Sparties best shot and it took two tipped balls to keep that drive alive and they score. Mattison will adjust and we will lockdown the Sparties in the 2nd half.
Devin to Gallon/Funchess/Chesson for a long TD to tie game. Gibby redeems PSU and wins the game at the end.
Confident! We might as well be down by 30
Yes confident. 5 weeks ago Devin would have thrown 3-4 picks by now against that rush.
Just means they're lined up for the 2nd half. /hopefully kidding
but not confident. We're down 7, that might as well by 14-17 points in a typicaly game. We haven't scored a TD on MSU since Roy Roundtree scored with 9:49 in the 4th quarter of the 2011 game.
Hopefully we're saving all these picks that we should be getting for when OSU comes to town. If we beat them, I almost couldn't care less what happens today.
ready for the fire borges thread.
adjustments and we will be fine. With the field position they had early it could be worse.
Do you have any faith that we'll make adjustments? At least on offense. I certainly don't
Not even a little bit. They're done.
I would think they saved something for this game. We havent played terrible and down by 7
I hope you're right, but I don't see it
It's just going to be tough sledding for UM's offense. That being said, Michigan is only down by 7. No reason to lose hope
Are you serious? C'mon. WTF? You guys a pathetic!
Trolls gonna troll.
The epitome of talk radio fan. Educate yourself sir.
I really don't want to lose this recruiting class.
We can start with firing Borges.
They're making the most with the little talent they've brought in, and we're doing sort-of okay (at times) with the top talent our coaches have brought in. That's disheartening, knowing we could be better, but aren't.
I'm holding out hope for second half adjustments, but we've been 50-50 on second half adjustments on the road the last three years.
3rd down efficiency
|1 of 6||4 of 9|
4th down efficiency
|8 for 12||10 for 18|
Yards per pass
Yards per rush
do you know what the rushing is with sacks removed?
Those sacks are the rushing.
LOL, thanks for that....
I look forward to your cursing graphs and charts after this game...
2nd half adjustment at the road is something I dearly want to see from this coaching staff.
Hope my heart won't get crushed again.
-41 yards rushing. Awesome.
But still. Ouch. & yet, with middle of O line as not-ready as it is, and their D as good as it is, I'm surprised it's not worse (excepting that botched snap, I mean)
Look pretty good, huh?
i'm going to go to the Purdue Blog for a while so I can feel better about my team.
Purdue only gave up 7 points to MSUs offense.
Wouldn't it be nice if our oline got nasty and smashed someone?
They can't. Gotta make changes in the off season to do anything about it
i have no trust in our staff that they will make useful halftime adjustments.
