To bad that won't happen. RR has at least one more year if we win one more game and just imagine our team when we field this same team plus depth and more experience.
Is MSU the best team in the Big Ten?
Also, I doubt Harbaugh would take the job here with the current state he has Stanford in.
I highly doubt he was taking a shot at Rich Rod, you are reading way too much into that. Looks like you are having a good night though, stay classy.
You + Are = You're
Some of us choose not to use contractions...so stop bitching about the grammar.
Contractions are optional, and are more popular in speech than in writing. In fact, it is more proper to write without contractions. You're an idiot.
Bringing up the Oregon game was a great point in his favor...
How is it a good thing that Harbaugh wants to rub a big lead in someone's face? I get much more satisfaction in straight-up beating somebody than I do rubbing my superiority in their face. Going for 2 when up big is an ass move.
That I donated one of my MGoPoints to neg you.
I'm not sure where that MGoPoint went, but I hope it's Mott's Childrens Hospital.
Just shut up. I listened to all of the irrational fans all game I don't need to hear you complain even more. Rich Rod didn't miss tackles or throw picks. Thats the players. A coach can only do so much. Now shut up and go away.
I was unaware that coaches around the country teach kids to miss tackles and throw picks. Thanks for pointing that out. A coach can only do so much. The rest is up the guys on the field. Unfortunately at this point those guys are 2-3 years younger than just about all the guys they are going up against. Until you realize this you are never going to be happy no matter who is coaching. Coaches don't teach experience.
Where'd you play? Still coaching? Prove it.
He has still yet to prove it, me thinks he's a great big phony.
Never a mod when you need one...
Ill give you one so you can keep negging the jumpers.
Ha -- I donated seven of mine (one for all of the lame posts).
Sometimes I miss MLive. Not really.
The guy was there on the corner trying to wash the window of my car with a really dirty rag. I rolled down the window and negged him at the light. I'm sure he's going to use them to buy alcohol, drugs, or smokes, but at least my conscience is clear.
You sir are a douche.
That would be you, mestaba. That would be you.
Can I get a.....
Dantonio is a good coach, but the media has hyped him to the point where it helps with recruiting. From the announcers at the MSU game today: "Dantonio is known as the Dean of Discipline, which is quite ironic since his teams lead the BigTen in penalites" - he could also say in plea bargains.
Eh... I'm not really that concerned. They're a good team, but I don't think they're good enough not to slip up somewhere before the end of the season.
Right now, I would say they are. I'm not even sure they're going to go through the usual second half collapse either.
In a word... no
in three words.
not dem brahs
they could lose at NU next week. They were down 6-3 against Illinois at half today. But yeah, my greatest fear is Dantonio pulling an Izzo.
and that's the only thing that counts.
They will lose a game or two this season, just like everyone else in the Big 10. They might still win the Big 10 by record, but I still think OSU, Iowa, and maybe even Wiscy (at least at home) are better.
Either them, Iowa or Purdue. The numbers are the numbers. Michigan State being successful has very little to do with what is going on at Michigan except for 1 game a year anyways. So look at their hot start in a positive light. Couldn't be more proud of the growth taking place with Little Bro.
Did you really just throw Purdue in there as part of the best team in the big 10 discussion just because they are 2-0? Would like to know your thoughts on Purdue the next two weeks as they go to OSU, and Illinois.
Did you pick Purdue because they beat the two esiest teams on their schedule? Because while I think Northwestern will be a decent squad, Minny is a trainwreck. Let's see how they look in a couple of weeks.
I watched the entire MSU/Illinois game today, and to be honest, I wasn't impressed with MSU... again. Don't get me wrong, I think MSU is a pretty good team, just not a great team.
Illinois controlled almost the entire game with their defense, and if Illinois had any kind of offense, they would have won that game. It almost seemed like the Illinois defense gave up in the 4th quarter once they realized that their offense sucked so bad they wouldn't score anyway.
They don't need to be great, they just need to win
By like 20?
Yeah, but their offense did very little. Scheelhaase was awful, and simply handed the ball over to them again and again. With a slightly less awful QB, Sparty would have been in real trouble.
MSU is not great, but nobody else in the Big Ten looks consistently great either. Perhaps consistently not bad will be enough to win the Big Ten this year.
I don't think they're better than OSU. It's just one of those things. They got to play UW and UI at home while OSU played those two on the road. But they are a good team. MSU-Iowa will be a very good game.
Fortunate for MSU - bad.
We would then be living in the very definition of hell. While I am definitely more interested in Michigan winning I would not be at all opposed to State losing.
We will know more after they play at iowa...
I don't think there is a clear best team in this conference. It could be MSU. It could also be Iowa, OSU, or Wisconsin. I guess you'd have to go with MSU for now, but I think someone like Boise St. or Oregon would beat them by 10+ easy.
It is basically going to come down to a round robin between those 4 teams. State is in the driver's seat though with a win in the bank and the fact that they miss OSU. If they beat Iowa they pretty much waltz to Pasadena. Needless to say PurpleStuff and America! will be pulling for Stanzi to make a stand for goodness in the world and kick their ass.
I may never root for Iowa more than that day.
And trust me, in this conference, there are lots of chances to root for Iowa.
If Sparty is considered the best team in the conference. Please don't try to use the transitive property of losses: wiscy can beat up the buckeyes at home, that doesn't make sparty better than OSU.
They're the luckiest.
Though that happens to everyone at some time (our schedule next year is pretty "lucky"). Still have to take advantage of it.
But other than maybe ND (which isn't B10), have Amy of their games been "lucky"?
Until someone can stop State's 3 headed monster at RB, rattle Cousins, or hold down their offense the whole game, then they're the best. It's tough to win every game in the conference so I don't expect it to happen, but at this point, they're the top dog. Son of a *****.
Illinois actually pretty much did those things. They just did absolutely nothing on offense.
It matters not. They are undefeated, and have only Iowa as a serious threat from here on out. If they beat the Hawkeyes, they'll go12-0.
At that point, I'll make like Oedipus Rex and pluck my eyes out.
And have a Korean mother-in-law do it.
Is the funniest line I've heard all day. Thanks. After witnessing that game in person today, I needed it.
Till I saw that 2/3's of it was just beating down a troll.
I never thought the day Charles Burrell looked down at his feet and saw he was at the Rose Bowl would come. I might be proven wrong this year.
I think they might be, but we aren't even to the half way point of the BigTen season.
They should get a BCS bowl bid. Even if MSU loses to Iowa, but finishes 11-1...Iowa and OSU play...making MSU on the big stage.
but they've got to be feeling pretty good right now. Trip to Northwestern could be tricky, but they should be able to win that one. If they get past that one and beat Iowa (and that's a big "if"), it does look prettty good for them.
No, the Vest still fields the best team. No one in the Big Ten would win at Camp Randall.
Is the best team in the Big Ten. Michigan State will not beat Iowa. That is an extremely good team Ferentz has put together. Shame they had that horrible game against Iowa.
MSU can definitely be a one loss team. They don't play anyone else that matters or is remotely threatening.
...just ask them.
Well according to Lynn "Im not a woman" Henning, a winning culture is developing in E Lansing. Really? 7 games into a season when they finished below .500 the season before? My god what a fucking asshat...god the MSM fucking sucks. Fuck You MSM and MSU!
