@Trey_Burke3 My advice, believe in YOUR heart & mind, everything else is interference. People u seek out is better than those that seek u.

Let me get this straight.  Mark Hollis sought out Trey Bruke to advise him not to listen to people who seek him out?  Classic Sparty.

WTF is up with ADs these days?  Why can't they just administrate like administrators do and stay the f-ck out of the public eye?  I'll tell you why - they are egotistical maniacs who crave attention.  Here's some advice to all you ADs out there:  Do your jobs like everyone else and shut the f-ck up.

The Roy Roundtree thing wasn't allowed because the kid was  a recruit. Coaches aren't even allowed to say a recruits name to the media until LOI's are in. NCAA has some weird rules, because i know that twitter thing happens all the time.

Burke tweeted that everyone is trying to tell him what to do, and Hollis said to listen to his mind and seek the help of people he wants. I dont understand the outrage over it? Maybe its the rival school thing, but Hollis's job is to make money for the school, and a better Michigan team means more money coming in for the game against michigan. also hollis loves to help the state of michigan (like scheduling home and homes with CMU and EMU to help them out. sigh)

I promise that if Worthy was on the fence and Brandon was sending him unsolicited, rather cryptic tweets about his NFL decision, MSU fans would be up in arms about it.  And rightfully so.  it might not be evil, but it's awkward and inappropriate.  Hollis is there for MSU athletes, his services aren't needed for ours.

Hollis doesn't get when to talk and when not to talk. There's this, and then I think sometime last year he said somthing like "I'll take a better program over a better season any day" after we beat them in basketball. There's been one or two other occaisions where I wondered why the MSU PR team doesn't shut down his twitter

I get the hypocrisy, I get the grammar issues, and I get that people think what he did is unprofessional. Forget the semantics. He's trying to be friendly to a rival and I respect that.

Note: My post above was a response to a troll, not the other guy.

Let's just call it what it is. He is trying to convince Trey to leave because if he does, then that makes Michigan less dangerous. He's afraid of us and what we can do to that program with more head to head wins and a few more good recruits. He's afraid if Michigan keeps winning, then Michigan State becomes 2nd best in our state. He'll do whatever he can to prevent that.

 NCAA Bylaw 13.1.1.3

An athletics staff member or other representative of the institution’s athletics interests shall not make contact with the student-athlete of another NCAA or NAIA four-year collegiate institution, directly or indirectly, without first obtaining the written permission of the first institution’s athletics director (or an athletics administrator designated by the athletics director) to do so, regardless of who makes the initial contact.

13.02.4 Contact. A contact is any face-to-face encounter between a prospective student-athlete or the prospective
student-athlete’s parents, relatives or legal guardians and an institutional staff member or athletics representative
during which any dialogue occurs in excess of an exchange of a greeting. Any such face-to-face encounter
that is prearranged (e.g., staff member positions himself or herself in a location where contact is possible) or that
takes place on the grounds of the prospective student-athlete’s educational institution or at the site of organized
competition or practice involving the prospective student-athlete or the prospective student-athlete’s high school,
preparatory school, two-year college or all-star team shall be considered a contact, regardless of whether any
conversation occurs. However, an institutional staff member or athletics representative who is approached by a
prospective student-athlete or the prospective student-athlete’s parents, relatives or legal guardians at any location
shall not use a contact, provided the encounter was not prearranged and the staff member or athletics representative
does not engage in any dialogue in excess of a greeting and takes appropriate steps to immediately terminate
the encounter. (Revised: 1/11/94 effective 8/1/94)

This is the definition of "contact" as used in 13.1.1.3 which is titled "Four-year college prospective student-athletes" and is in the section of the bylaws regarding the recruiting of players. Hollis did not meet with Burke face-to-face and Burke is not a prospective student athlete. None of these rules apply.

I don't know if it's just me but I have a hard time seeing Dave Brandon ever doing something like this.  Frankly I don't have a problem with it as a Michigan fan but it seems so inappropriate and... lame.  Lame is the word that comes to mind.
