Mrs. Harbaugh explains the pleated khakis aka Dad Pants
This was from this past summer for those of you who don't know how the khaki craze came about.
Mrs. Harbaugh calls into a San Francisco radio station and explains her dislike for Jim's Dad Pants. She talks about how she threw out Jim's khakis and then how he went to a Wal Mart and bought more.

Absolutely love it! She sounds like a very special wife and mother. But what would one expect?

Even in an age of tolerance and enlightenment, etc., that radio show has an "Only in San Francisco" feel to it, right? :)

Agreed. I've lived in Ann Arbor my entire life, and that interview even made me a bit uncomfortable.

You should hear their sports update catch phrase then.
I think it goes, if it has anything to do with balls, we're there. Or something like that.

Cannot wait to see Jimmy in blue sweater and pleated khakis! Love the Harbaughs!

Sarah, let's talk. I feel the same about my husband's short sleeved button down shirts. Ack.

My wife was a poster here.
/buy me some nice polo shirts

My husband has 12 of the same coat. Not exactly the same coat but he keeps buying coats that look, to the naked eye, the same. Same color - dark bluish gray - and when I point out that the newest one looks exactly like the past 11, he'll say, "No, this one has different seams," or "This one has a better zipper." But they're all basically the same. I am confused by this.

I look good in a long black wool coat and a white cashmere scarf. So that's what I've worn for about the last 20 winters.
Why change what already works?

She is awesome! And as the wife of someone whose fashion style can only be categorized as 'suburban dad', I feel her pain about those khakis. Pleats are so awful!

I can remember when the flat-front trousers were the kind that dads wore (which of course was a reaction to the previous generation's pleated ones). I'm still stuck on the (pleated) pants of my youth. It doesn't seem that long ago...

I love her. The whole family seems really down to earth, in spite of being millionaires.

A&E will start pre-production of "Wolverine Dynasty", a down-to-earth show that takes you inside a maize 'n blue family.

That's my favorite pic of him.

I'm shocked that isn't from an Onion article...

Dude is intense even when buying $17 WalMart khakis. Awesome.
December 31st, 2014 at 8:22 PM ^
$17? More like $8.

8 million Khakis no way Mrs. Harbaugh can throw out 8 million pleaded khakis a year! Go Jim!

This is a brilliant observation! If Harbaugh is a Walmart Wolverine, how the hell could it be an insult to anyone!!!
December 31st, 2014 at 7:57 PM ^
I don't care if he wears knickers or a dam kilt, just win!!
December 31st, 2014 at 8:04 PM ^
I also wear khak's every day to work, even today, on casual day. Khakis > jeans.
January 1st, 2015 at 10:24 AM ^
And half of mine are pleated. Keep some of each around and you can always be out of style, no matter how fashions change.

EDSBS' Orson/Spencer Hall published a pretty fantastic review of said pants:

I guess this give new meaning to being a Walmart Wolverine!

So I guess we know why the 49ers dropped off this year.

Also, re: Sarah Harbaugh - if Jim's recruiting talent identification ability is even 1/10th what his attractive wife identification prowess is, we'll be in for a treat for many seasons to come.

James Franklin would approve heartily of the hire of Jim Harbaugh,
Not that I give a damn what Franklin thinks.

This was so funny - she seems so real and personable, which is not a small thing for a university football coach's wife. This is great. I love her already.

So hilarious, even for the second time

OK, so exactly what pants are acceptable these days then?

I bet you the guy is one hell of a golfer.

But are they George or Faded Glory pants?
Ugh, I worked at walmart too long. ..
